The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for β€œRate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

          I'd say Dzeko is a better pick for the start of the season . Look at his record goals per minute . He will be rotated with Aguero , Negredo and Jovetic later on .

    What do you a think of bolasie? Has no stats at all to go by with 0 prem goals. But at the end of last season he looked unplayable and like the penny had dropped.

      Puncheon has penos and more of a goal threat for the extra 0.5. Bolasie not really nailed on either.
      Looks a good player but not fpl wise, especially with Pulis leaving.

      9/10 Strong team. Can't fault it really, but iffy over Fletcher and Lovren but there is no reason why they shouldn't do well.

      good team, i know this is controversial but i dont like bojan. IMO just cos he comes from barca he is already overhyped. He will play rm in 4-2-3-1, not as a striker where diouf will play so i dont think he will score as many goals as people think.

      also jovetic is at risk of rotation from aguero and dzeko so I'm not sure how many games he will start, also van aanholt is a risk but I dont know much about it.

        Hmm thanks. Youre right in that he will not play as a striker, and in fact I had Diouf in until late yesterday. Bojan will likely play just off Diouf with Odem on the right in a 4-2-3-1 but right mid in a 4-3-3. Also true about Jovetic, that one is a gamble I have gone for based on current form he will start At least until Kun is out injured. Think I will get Diouf back in

      Looks good to me. I think there are slight question marks over Pieters, Collocini and Ferdinand but they are certainly first choice.

      Looks good, not too much risk and Diouf looks like a good bet at that price. I'd say you're set.

      Provided you have a replacement in the pipeline for Chambers once Kos is back it looks good to go.
      Since you will be rotating Mutch and Diouf, why not downgrade Diouf to Bojan (rotate with Siggy), and then upgrade Mutch to Hendo? Just a suggestion.

    Happy with it, although I have sacrificed a Utd player I think I've got points coming from the right positions with Mata and Rooney, thin Utd defence looking less and less important to accommodate.

    Took me fking ages to build a rotation where I could squeeze in Lovren and Clyne and still have it rotate well, if anything goes teats up I've got 0.5m ITB to hopefully correct anything. Although I'm not a huge fan of the Pool defence, since Lovren signed he has (I hope) brought about some solidity at the back.

    This team will probably be dismantled within weeks due to various bandwagons, but for now, what do you think?

      Yeah it looks good. I'm not a fan of Wanyama though, personally I prefer a sub player that has some upside, particularly if its a mid/fwd.

    Hi guys I need some advice
    I'm pretty happy with my MF/AT
    but I fear for my defence
    I went for DEBUCHEY because he will keep clean
    Sheets - I think Richardson is a bargin since he will be used very high
    Up the pitch & with no other left sided players at villa park it seemed to good to miss
    Now the grey area - WILLIAMSON & BRATLEY what do you think

      Best not to use Caps, just for future reference.

      You need a stronger defence. I don't think those cheap defenders are anywhere near good enough and it will cause you problems.

      It looks alright. Your budget defenders are all transfers waiting to happen though. Not ideal since you'd want to spend your early transfers where it matters most, not being wasted on cheap defenders.

    Here's the team I think I've settled on, barring any big news over the next 36 hours. My goal is to come flying out of the gates, as I'm playing in a Cup-style tournament over the first two game weeks against the other top finishers in my league from last season. Winner walks away with some bonus prize money.

      Dunno whether Mannone is nailed on to play mate - they've got Panti now too, and I doubt whether he'd have gone to warm the bench. Chambers is the best 4.5 in the short term, but not sure how much he's gonna play once Kos is back.
