A new beginning. On the eve of a new campaign, two grumpy middle-aged has-beens gather in a studio to recall the summer’s feast of football and look ahead to another Fantasy season, full of hope.

There’s no frills. No live video cast. No special guests. Just Granville and I, stripped back and almost unplugged.

Don’t let that put you off, though. Even with our limited powers we at least attempt to cut through the issues currently rattling around in the minds of Fantasy managers.

We assess the Old Trafford revolution, the world without Suarez and the merits of the three-man strike force. We slice through the current transfer trends and weigh up matters such as the Sigurdsson/Bojan rotation, Fagregas vs Hazard and the Chelsea back four conundrum. We also manage to warm up with a nice little argument about the Alexis Sanchez bandwagon – the traditional pre-season barney.

Be there at the birth via this link, or witness the new dawn via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Guys, In defence are we better off with cheap good Rotationary defenders or should we aim more for better players- little more expensive to give more stability.
I started with cheap rotaters but as the season draws close im going with stability over rotations.
    Thoughts on this.
    Current defence.

    DDG/Gilks
Cahill, Wisdom, Pieters, Ward, Van Aanholt.

    Will prob switch out Ward.
    My rotations are in tatters.

Blackett or James as 4,5 DEF from Man Utd?

Has Blackett played on the wingback pre season? Or only in the back 3? I was thinking James was more likely to be given the left winback role as long as Shaw, Valencia and Rafael is out. But could Blackett play there instead if Evans is fit, and Man Utd start with Evans-Smalling-Jones?

From what I have gathered in what I've read it came down to a clash over the transfer targets. I was seeing today that Parrish was very keen on bring Wilf back but TP wanted Wickham.

Still bit early to sort through all the muck, and I'm sure we will be able to see which of the two was at the heart of this disaster very soon. That said, just gutted after such a bright preseason and all the positive press coming out after the US trip and everything that this is happening two days before the first fixture.

I agree. And the talk about TP overextending his budget back in his Stoke days are unfair and simply do not apply to this situation because I think he's put up about 1 million pounds out on total transfers so far. Losing Caulker and Siggy transfers also were terrible and still haven't really seen what happened in the breakdown there as to who's fault it was since we had bids accepted on both of them. Just a disaster.

Clyne Debuchy (back again, ugh) and Cavies in there for cover. Maybe I should just go safe and take Caulker as at least he's nailed. Just don't want a QPR defender who I have to actually rely on at all regardless of his goal threat.

      C. and E. Bardsley - mainly because Huth may well not play for the first few games at least and Ward has lost the Pullis clean sheet factor

Neither. Both playing for dodgy defences.

Siggy - I still don't believe that Young will start or necessarily replicate his pre-season form in proper games.

Anyone getting Ade as a differential, or is there too much worry about rotation with Soldado + lack of match fitness?

Planning on getting him in as quickly as possible. Best of the 8.5 strikers in my opinion but want to hold off because of reasons you just mentioned although I do think he will start on Saturday.

My thoughts exactly. Really rate him, but I'm worried Pochettino will throw us a curveball.
