A new beginning. On the eve of a new campaign, two grumpy middle-aged has-beens gather in a studio to recall the summer’s feast of football and look ahead to another Fantasy season, full of hope.

There’s no frills. No live video cast. No special guests. Just Granville and I, stripped back and almost unplugged.

Don’t let that put you off, though. Even with our limited powers we at least attempt to cut through the issues currently rattling around in the minds of Fantasy managers.

We assess the Old Trafford revolution, the world without Suarez and the merits of the three-man strike force. We slice through the current transfer trends and weigh up matters such as the Sigurdsson/Bojan rotation, Fagregas vs Hazard and the Chelsea back four conundrum. We also manage to warm up with a nice little argument about the Alexis Sanchez bandwagon – the traditional pre-season barney.

              You should also factor in the extra captaincy option offered by the 3rd premium striker as opposed to Sterling

      overall looks good

      not sure on kelly or the 4m defenders but i'm trying to figure out the best 4.5 and 4m defenders right now.....

      Played with nearly identical price spread to get those 3 up front. I like it but have gone back to Jovetic Eriksen and Chelski defender instead of sturridge

      Not keen on Vlaar with those fixtures. Davies and especially Cameron are not nailed on. Are you comfortable playing Bojan every week? Maybe Boyd to Hendo and play 3-5-2.

        best defense and keeper for 35m?

        Plus, i am going with 3-4-3 keeping bojan for the first few GWs. then swap him when Stoke's difficult run starts.

      I think the thing with Man U and those fixtures is the amount of goals the will score as opposed to the amount of CS they will keep. Jones or Man U defence not vital imo

    only worry is Hazard but Costa had too much ownership plus I can downgrade from Costa to Hazard easier than vice versa. Any suggestions for 4.5m mid (see top of page) m

      Personally i would go Bego alone with a 4. keeper and then your 4.5 mid to say Davies of SOT.

    Finally, sorted my 7th attacker.
    Since, you need more value at the back this season because of lack of decent 4.0 defenders, I think rotating 3rd striker & 5th defender with 11m is the best bet I've found so far!
    Davis(5.0) & Austin(6.0) gives you
    HUL,WBA,SUN,NEW,STO,QPR,whm,SUN,STO,hul,LEI,avl in first 12 GW.

    This must be the best valued 7th attacker for me.

    Morning DZ its been too long! How are you guys? I'm in the process of ripping up my team and starting again to shoe horn in arsenal attackers after the pulis news. Is everybody going ramsey over sanchez? I would be deciding between Luis + Ramsey or 4.5m + Sanchez. I'm pulling the early WC by the way, if that makes any difference.

      Ramsey for most people here after the CS.

      Would still choose Ramsey + Luis, unless you want a punt then Sanchez might be interesting.
      Just need a nailed on 4.5m with good rotation fixtures

      If you play 3-5-2 every week its ok.
      I prefer cheap defenders/ Mids so i would be-
      Clyne to a playing 4.0 and Mandron to Bojan
      or
      Young to 4.5 and Mandron to Bojan.

      Just my personal choice, if not you are good to go

          I am playing 3-5-2 every week. I'm afraid you're not seeing the bigger picture mate, you are not to choose someone with high ownership who is going to be a bench warmer, they will depreciate in value when people decide to change their formation/tactics.

          And Bojan never has and never will be in my team. Worst bandwagan so far this year. 3/4 goals in 23 appearances in the Eredivisie. If you pay close attention to live score you'll notice that most games in the Eredivisie have 4+ goals a game. Will flop

    Just a bit of advice before i go to bed, Don't change your team tomorrow you'll end up saying to yourself 'What if i left him in my team' nothing worse then having someone you had, up until the day before, score a huge points haul.

    4. Bojan is waaay punty and can be the next Boselli but I have faith in him - unless someone can convince me otherwise.

    Thinking about downgrading Eriksen to Siggy and can upgrade defense.. Cahill Jones. Yay or nay?

      If Luis doesnt start and Kelly doesnt play your back 3 is Away to Liverpool / Home to Hull / Home to Everton. Brown underpants time if that happens.

      But if Luis is in there you look ok - Bojan is a punt but make sure you have an out in mind should he crash and burn.... Good Luck for the season mate
