The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

    Hi lads I would appreciate a little help with my fantasy team.

        To get a CHE defender in I would have to filed this side. Would dropping Hazard for Erikson be worth it though?

    Is Anyone going with 3 players under 6.0 in the mid and forwards ?

    I'm finding it hard to get rid of Hazard,Mata,Ramsay,Costa,Rooney,Eriksen and have Henderson and Bojan.

    Although i'm not a fan of having heaps in defense early i could go Eriksen - Siggy as i think Siggy will go well but then i don't know if i would want to boost my defence with the spare 2.0

      I'm on the other end of the spectrum. Not purchasing anyone in MID or FOR for less than 6.0. The only difference between you and me is that rather than Costa, Henderson, and Bojan I've got Cabella, Riviere, and Ideye.

      I had that till ytd. But ended up with going for 2. Snodgrass and Wanyama since I managed to upgrade my strikers and avoid a double swansea (Bony and Siggy) I do think that Hendo is solid and you should keep him. The money in the bank would be very useful after this week if you do have to make changes.

    so, would appreciate a RMT.

    please keep in mind that I'm going to be wildcarding in week 3 so that I can take advantage of the international break. also it would be good as by then we would know who are 4.0/4.5 starters making it easier to pick those players.

    So this is my 3-week team:

    De Gea / Myhill
    Chester / Filipe Luiz / Ben Davies / Neil Taylor / Wisdom
    Eriksen / Fabregas / Silva / Mata / Siggy

    I feel like I've got a decent Palace/QPR defender rotation (once kelly is properly shifted) and a strong attack provided young plays like in pre-season. any thoughts at all?

        Wisdom is currently extremely short term. Do you have any suggestions on defenders? Yes I am abit tentative on Lamela. It's either Eriksen or Him. My reasoning of not having Siggy was due to the fact I had Bony..Didn't want to double up on Swansea so early.

        Ya...have the same feeling also. Would Eriksen be a safer bet? I never had a good start in any FPL season, and it's extremely hard to recover. Was near 1m after GW 9 last yr..

          had eriksen initially...but den not sure abt spurs options...use 0.5m from elsewhere to get sterling...or if u cant coutinho may be a good bet...but risky

      your bench is very cheap and can cause a lot of trouble if i know its hard but if were you i would downgrade on of your heavy hitters like bony even to someone like bojan this enable you to upgrade wisdom/moore, hamer, and wanyama

        If I do downgrade Bony should I get Siggy over Snod. Yes I was thinking of including Bojan in my team. Only removed him ytd. If I do get Bojan I have 3m ITB to play around with.

      Cabella. FFS has him listed on PKs and, from what I've seen, seems ready to blow up. Some might want de Jong's creativity, etc. but I think Cabella's got him outscored in the long term.

      De Jong is actually extremely good and likely to play in the hole, but there are some speculations regarding injuries and he has missed out the past few friendlies. Cabella is an interesting suggestion, though I would throw extreme caution on that. For Tadic, He is actually a genuine punt and could help you do very well and he is the bracket where replacements are readily available if he doesn't get up to speed with EPL. Your defenders are more steady than mine so it could be safe?

      Relax, Tadic is a good punt. I'd play Siggy ahead of Tadic, however. United's defence is not as formidable as everyone on here is making it out to be.

    a) Jovetic & Marney: Means playing 3-4-3, Jovetic is a big gamble but could come into his own
    b) Fletcher/5.5 & De Jong? Gives a better flexibility of 3-5-2 or 3-4-3

    If the latter, will bench De Jong in GW 1 and then play him GWs 2-8 versus Villa, Palace, Soton, Hull, Stoke, Swansea & Leicester.

      Debuchy isn't great value due to their fixtures, I'd downgrade him.

    Courtois is my little secret! Don't need any advice on Baird, just picked him to play GW1. Only spots up in the air are Siggy and Dzeko.

      Be wary of Rio, a player of his age and injury record can be risky pick and I don't expect to play 38 games.

      If you are only going to play 3 5 2, downgrade Austin to the Burnley chap at 5.0 whose name escapes me. You could then upgrade Young to Arnie
