The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Ryan’s biggest concern is his cheap defenders. Any ideas for improvement there? Is he right to spend so much on Ivanovic or to trust in Stevan Jovetic replicating his preseason form?

      Not sure Azpi will start tbh, but could say the same for most of the Chelsea backline! Henderson and Siggy seem a bit pricey considering most weeks you will only have 4 mids potentially. Would swap Hendo for a 4.5M e.g. Wanyama and upgrade Bojan, to the likes of Bony etc?

        Hendo is my only Pool cover, and a high reward punt 🙁

        My idea is to see if Azpi plays, then use 1.0 if he's not nailed. But I really, really think he's safe, as Mou loves him

      Can you rate mine, below.

      Nice midfield, however defence is average. For me, id downgrade debuchy to chambers for the first few gameweek, and then swap debuchy in again.Then upgrade Dzeko to Costa for costa good gameweeks.

      Personally would upgrade Henderson to Siggy as he has showed potential that he could really do well at Swansea and will play in behind Bony! Personally for me Henderson doesn't score enough goals. Hope this helps 🙂

      You've got a great first team but bench is awful. As long as you are fine with wasting transfers each week, its great, as you can't swap players around. Everyone including me seems to have That frontline!

      I'm picking Hendo to improve on last season, so keeping Costa could be big for you

      IMO, Terry is too much of an investment, just to keep yourself safe. I know he scores, but in his age, he's bound to decline

      Personally think Hazard or Fabregas is needed maybe instead of Eriksen, Ward not needed now Pulis gone IMO or go for Kelly if you still trust them! Otherwise solid 8/10

      Would advise Stoke defender maybe instead of Palace!

      I like the Nolan pick I think that's a good solid early differential, Naismith I might shy away from, but tbh at his price there are not many better options! However at 5.0M Harry Kane is a little but overlooked and if he can replicate some of the same form from last season he could be a bargain?

      . You need to work on tht defence mate. In my opinion, start Clyne. Get Chester out, downgrade to Moore. Play Naylor and Clyne and Debuchy. 9/10 for the defence.

    I will do Chambers->PvA when Chambers drops to the bench for Arsenal.

    I am taking the risk with Ireland because with Stoke's fixtures I think he can score well if he nails down the #10 role with Arnie, Bojan and Odem up there supporting.

    I am staying away from the 'big hitters' in DEF purely because I don't think there is enough value there over the 5.0's.
