The Carlos Tevez transfer saga has taken another twist with news that Corinthians have pulled out of their bid to acquire the Argentine’s services overnight. With the Brazilian transfer deadline closing tonight, Tevez’s former club have moved to confirm their interest in the deal has now ended by releasing an official statement:

“While acknowledging the efforts of Manchester City, and everyone involved in the negotiations, there wasn’t enough time for the transfer to be completed. We are aware our fans wanted Tevez to join our club again and we hope we can have the player with us in the future”

Although City were willing to make certain allowances for the deal to go through -including agreeing to various staggered payments- Corinthians appear to have little financial muscle and were reportedly unable to even afford the initial £8.7m down payment.

The collapse of the deal leaves Roberto Mancini with an unhappy star player and the City boss will surely still want to move Tevez on in order to avoid any squad unrest. A move to Inter Milan has been cited, once again, and although this will hardly help alleviate the player’s homesickness, Tevez clearly wants out of Manchester as soon as possible- both Samuel Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder have been linked with possible swap deals.

The collapse of the deal also may also have a knock-on effect for Sergio Aguero. Aguero was considered to be on the verge of moving to Eastlands as Tevez’s replacement and his club Ateltico Madrid have already acquired a new forward in anticipation of his departure, snapping up Adrián López from Deportivo La Coruña. City still look likely to complete the Aguero purchase over the next few days, thus beating the likes of Juventus to his signature.

It’s not as if City are lacking in top-class forwards- both Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli could fill the breach in the likely event of Tevez leaving and Balotelli has also had his say on the matter, moving to assure City fans of his intentions for next season:

It doesn’t matter if Carlos is here or not. If Carlos is here it’s good but if he goes away I’m sure someone else will arrive. I’m excited about the way things are going at the club. This is a good club, the players are amazing. I hope there will be a lot of goals to come from me this season. I know I can score a lot more. I will show this season what I can do.

With six weeks left till the closure of the domestic transfer window, this story is likely to run and run.

anybody tried Yahoo Fantasy football? If you havent just do it it for fun. You get 100 mil for 11 players- dont get excited as players are ridiculously overpriced. For example Baines costs 18 mil, Drogba 24, Downing 16, ACole 12, N'zogbia 13. So its basically unreal to pick a proper team

Its really not fair for us to wait the FPL. Outside of the UK we are not eligible to play the other fantasy games. Otherwise I would move my mini league long time ago. But its result of ISM weakness and bad planning obviously. I bet FFS and FPL want the game to start too.

Too bad my list was deleted ðŸ™

CU on 22nd when the game finally opens. And I hope there are ton of bugs.

Sessegnon and Ben Arfa definitely look a good shout.

But I think getting the defensive combo too is a step too far, as neither are great for clean sheets and you could get a very cheap rotation for SWA/QPR as an alternative to free up lots of cash.

Sunderland did alright for cleanies last year. I'll be going with Sessegnon and Ben Arfa, and one SUN defender who will be rotating with an AVL and a FUL defender possibly.

I work in the stadium, overheard a conversation today and they were saying that they've only sold like 16000 over the two days. I think they'll be letting tickets go for cheap at the door on the day because they'll want to fill it up as much as possible. It's a terrible weekend to have it. Last bank holiday of the Summer, matches on in Croke park.

But there is one silver lining, there was a deal in the contract that states that the teams have to field their best players. I'm not working on the weekend but I'm gona try and get down to see City play Inter Milan.

The My Predictions page contains the fixtures of the current Gameweek. Enter in your Goals For and Goals Against predictions for each of the games published.

IKTS comes with two chips which affect the scoring for that particular fixture. The Banker is usually placed on the prediction that you are most confident about and will double or treble (Banker Multiplier) your score for that match. The Insurance chip is usually placed on the prediction that you are most uncertain about and should your prediction be wrong, limits your score to 0 rather than -10.

Finally, click the Update Predictions button to save your forecasts. You are able to amend any of these right up until kick off

You can make leagues. Hope that helped

              Hey up Greg,
I play a lot of Poker.
The trick is to play the odds of a given hand and then judge who you are up against.

Say you have A,J and the flop is -
              A,10,8

Then this would be statistically a good hand for you.
The players you need to be wary of are those that will play any hand, as they can often be frustrating but will be amazing when you actually have a hand 🙂

I'd be looking to have a fold rate of about 70% too, beyond that you are playing too many hands.

                Thanks a bunch 🙂

Say I do go in head to head, and I have a hand of K, J,

And a flop of "9 9 A" Comes up, and he does not bet, should I be taking the initiative and bet, to win the hand ?? But be cautious that he is playing me into doing this, yes? It is a scenario I find myself in quite a bit when playing on FB, and sometimes I am stumped.

Yeah I would probably prtend I had an A or 9 and do a slight raise....

If you are playing someone that slow plays tough - you are screwed

then you should probably be helping me!

              anyway, aside from mental maths...

play marginal hands (low pairs, connected cards of same suit etc.) more often when lots of people are in and less so when you're head to head or a couple of others. Opposite when you hold high cards preflop, go in head to head and less so in a large group.

Until you have some idea of who loves a bluff, play the odds the not face.

              Fold a lot.

Cash Game, you can re buy-in as such.

            Only play good cards...

Seriously... especially if you start winning a few hands, you'll feel invincible... but that's when your likely to lose a huge pot with a marginal hand... so play tight early on...

Of course, if you get to heads up you'll have to change your style and be a bit more aggressive...

It's also worth mentioning that playing tight only, will make you a boring predictable player (this depends on the quality of player your up against), so you may have to venture from this but you have time it well when playing poorer hands, and only do this if your confident they'll fold etc...

Oh and don't chase... I hate chasers...

            Good luck...

Thats probably my downfall, I do play quite tight, I will bet and stuff when I have a big hand, but I tend not to bluff. I also have tended to feel "invincible" after winning good hands, and then losing my hard work.

              Thank you.

a tip of mine that works a lot when you're playing with 3 or 4 people in whenever a flop comes up with a pair in it (e.g 3h, Kh, Kc)
always put a little bet in and you'll win a lot of cheap hands, regardless of what you have.
if they do call you know you're beat so cut your losses on the turn and check/fold it.
if however he checks on the turn too then chances are he was playing for a straight or flush so if the river is unrelated (not a heart in the example) or not likely to complete a straight then have another little bet on the river and he should fold

reason being if there's only 2 cards to hit on the flop it's less likely they've hit one of them. from experience it works surprisingly often, just don't put in big bets to make it work, you don't need to.

oh and also with a pair on the flop it's less likely they'll be on a straight. so if it's like 3 K K and there's no straights on then definitely go for it

And if there are no Flush draws on as well so 3d Kh Ks

                  Thanks AB.

I have O'Shea and Given so far, Given is a steal for 3m and O'Shea as a guaranteed starter in what should be a decent Sunderland defence is good value too, other than that, I have big guns

          Hi,
If FPL comes out tomorrow, I will come on these boards and admit I'm a closet United fan and that Paul Scholes is my favourite player.

That's how confident I am that it won't happen.

How long has he got to be inactive for before you assume the title of Chief ABU? he's been AWOL for some time now.

Although I hate Man U fans who aren't from Manchester more than I hate Man United.
