ENTRY HAS NOW CLOSED AND THE DRAW HAS BEEN MADE

On Wednesday night the doors were kicked open. After days of speculation, frustration and some unlikely conspiracies, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) launched a new site, new rules and a new start to our Fantasy seasons.

The player list tinkering is now taking place in earnest as the ardent Fantasy Managers look to steal a march on the casual brigade. Leagues are already in place – sign-up’s underway.

The “classic” Fantasy Football Scout League is already available via this code (code: 490-626). Now, though it’s time to take on the behemoth that is now our ten (the impending Reserve League included) Head to Head leagues…

Those of you that were involved in our Head to Head leagues last year should, all being well, have already received the code to your new division for next season (if not, details follow later on how to rectify this – there are deadlines so don’t delay) not long after the game went live, so now it’s down to enticing new entrants.

Last year we ran seven (twenty man) Head to Head leagues. This season we are going to add another two onto the pile leaving us with nine of these in total as we continue to grow and grow – this opens up 38 more places (alongside 6 spaces already confirmed to be filled in Head to Head 7) for our community to snap up. If you want to try and squeeze into FFS H2H 8 (with Fantasy Football Scout business brain Chris, or “elfozzie” to you) or FFS H2H 9 (with myself, sorry folks!) be sure to follow the upcoming instructions…

Please email me at andy@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with the heading “FFS Head to Head: New Entry” with these very specific details as entry:

  1. Fantasy Football Scout User Name (nickname used to post comments with)
  2. Full name
  3. Link to your Fantasy Premier League team or ID number

Make sure you provide the correct link. This can be found by clicking ‘History’ under your kit on your team page. It should be of the form ‘http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/X/history/’ (where X is your unique 1 to 7 digit team ID number – for example, mine is 89). N.b. links are represented differently than in past years so don’t get caught out.

If you fail to provide all of these details or enter by the closing date below, then your entry will become invalid so make sure to check everything is correct.

Deadlines are going to be tighter this year, so you’ll need to be quick as entry for these closes just a couple of weeks away at midnight (GMT) on Friday July 29 – a week today. All valid entries will then be put into a (hypothetical) pot, with 44 drawn at random and assigned to a league based on their final ranking from last season.

If, by the time deadline for entry closes, there are also any unclaimed spots in the pre-determined seven Head to Head leagues above, then places will also be up for grabs and added into the mix for new applicants to potentially sneak their way in; a “golden ticket” up the newly formed league structure all the way to FFS H2H 1 could also be on the cards if you’re lucky and did well enough last season.

This is where the qualifiers for the aforementioned seven leagues get their instructions if they need them. If you haven’t yet received an email with your new league code then please get in touch with me using exactly the same instructions as for new applicants but header your email with “FFS Head to Head: League Code” instead, and ask for your code. All of those who qualified by finishing in the top 28 places in the Reserve League last year, for example, will need to email me as I don’t have any of your contact details on record – the onus is upon you to claim what is yours in the next week. Be fast to make sure you don’t miss out on what you earned last year.

Finally, for those already qualified, you’ll also need to make sure your team is registered under the same email as last season as I will be checking the 2010/11 scores to verify your entries.

The process of promotion and relegation from these leagues are perhaps best left to be show in image form one more time so as my garble doesn’t confuse anyone. If you have any queries then don’t hesitate to comment (I’ll do my best to respond quickly), email (be aware I expect to be inundated with these) or tweet (perhaps most likely for me to see) in my direction and I’ll do my best to get back to you. The picture representation once again is…

There you go – that’s more than enough to take in for now. Don’t forget to get your emails in before the H2H league deadline – next Friday.

Rest assured I am reporting issues to the FPL/ISM and they are aware of everything I've gone to them with. They are sorting the glitches and, as some of them effect me personally, I'll keep on their case 😉

Any ideas on what Newcastle's defence will be next season?
Who are the first choice centre backs out of Colo, S Taylor and Williamson? If Enrique goes, who plays right back? Will Simpson keep his place over R Taylor at right back?

I think due to Taylors strong finish to the season it will be him and Colo in the centre. Colo is the new captain so will def be picked. I believe it will be Simpson on the right and if Enrique goes, I think R Taylor could play on the left until they signed a replacement. (Im a Newcastle Fan)

        Cheers, was thinking the same.
I'm including a Newcastle defender and have plumped for S Taylor but R Taylor really tempts me with his set pieces...if he was a regular, I'd have him.

Simpson, Coloccini and Enrique are the only nailed on defenders really. Ryan Taylor will be lucky for any sort of run outs at all, he's just a squad player for us now.

      Simpson, Coloccini, S. Taylor, Enrique.

      S. Taylor will rotate with Mike Williamson, Ryan Taylor will be looking to try and get the RB spot off Simpson, although Pardew rates him more on the RW.

If Enrique goes then Pardew has said he'll be replaced. If he's not then Shane Ferguson, Tamas Kadar, James Perch and Ryan Taylor can all play LB, so can Jonas at a push.

RVP has dfficult matches at the start of the season...
You may want someone else until Arsenal's fixtures improve.

I haven't watch Holt so I can't really judge him.

The rest of them look good. However you should make sure that Luiz gonna be a regular starter, otherwise replace him

      Like the keepers

Luiz is my only concern at the back (Rotation risk)

Lacking a Chelsea big player in midfield and attack... (Could drop you behind in first few weeks)

Suarez - replace with Carroll for first 3 games then switch back to Suarez (Away at Copa America)

RVP tough fixtures but scores in nearly every game... Risky one but I reckon a good gamble!

      Jara could be anyone really.
I'm dead set on the frontline - Ba will be a beast, and Carroll will change to Suarez after a few weeks.
Midfield is the problem - Sessesgnon and Tchoyi could be OOP potentials, otehr than that i'm after consistent assists, so Valencia, Wilshere and Albrighton seemed a good fit.

I don't think Jagielka is a good option, even at 5.5. Arsenal's defence is really weak and their first 5 fixtures are simply difficult.
I think that ManU coverage is not that necessary given their fixtures. However Rooney is "fixtureproof" as they say so I would say downgarde drogba instead of him and get malouda

So, obviously, I'm monitoring him, but if he gets fit in time, he is definately in my team. From the match report it seems like he's back to his old self; a lot of runs in the box and smart through passes....!

Actually like the balance, realise that a lot of folk play towards the fixtures but as we have seen in seasons past anybody can beat anybody on thier day (tchoyi could be a real find)

think even though stoke play chelsea @ home you have to take stokes home defence into account!

7m on a keeper is alot! Look at Given or Freidel

Assou- Tottenham don't really keep clean sheets

      Ivanovic - Rotation risk

      Lampard for Malouda... saves 1.5m

Dzeko... Not convinced maybe Carroll or Drogba/Torres

Yeah, I thought that. But the guy is a goal machine for a defender. Always the chance of a goal from him.

Rotation risk is really putting me off Chels and Manu players. Definite starters are just to steep, for me. Will probably get in Chicarito at some point though.

Rafael - Rotation risk - A Liverpool defender is good value
Bent - Over priced and supply has left the club - Carroll for the same price!
Roda - The only one I would take (maybe look at Zamora for 0.5 more)

    See what you think

    Given/Al Habsi

Samba / Kompany / Riise / Jagielka / Ash Cole

    O'hara / Yaya / Downing / NZog / Sinclair

    Bent / Zamora / Ba

      like the keeper choice

Cole, Kompany yes... Everton slow start, Riise expensive (Hughes is 1mil cheaper), Samba... If he stays at blackburn but NO if he goes to arsenal

Yaya and N'zogbia yes... Downing 8.5m is alot in my opinion, O'Hara from what I remember is a holding CM... Sinclair don't know much about him I am afraid

      Like the strike force...

My worry for you is NO chelsea attacking threat...

Cheers for you're comments, i'll have a rethink on the defence.

Not sure who I could afford to replace downing?

O'hara is bonus point magnet and can weigh in with goal or two.

Sinclair is pacey winger! Hopefully should get goals/assists

Trouble with Chels is I can't see a nailed on starter at the mo! - And i'm a chelsea fan!

    A'noon all,

Any thoughts appreciated on A or B...

    A:

    Given - Kenny
Cashley - Kompany - Hangeland (simpson, orr)
Yaya - Sinclair - Sess - Albrighton (ferguson)
    RVP - Bent - Suarez

    B:

    Given - Kenny
Cashley - Kompany - Hangeland (simpson, orr)
Silva - Sinclair - Sess - Nzog (ferguson)
    RVP - Bent - Zamora

I know B is more balanced (as A is top heavy on attack) but I just think Bent is vital for first 6 weeks (out for roo), always have RVP and imo at 9.5 suarez is the most undervalued player in ff this year. And I'm sure he will play from the off as kenny loves him - according to lawro! cheers
