Bojan Krkic has time to impress at Stoke City, says Mark Hughes
Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says new signing Bojan Krkic was put on the bench at Hull for tactical reasons.
The 23-year-old forward joined from Barcelona and played 90 minutes against Aston Villa but was left out on Sunday.
"It was a difficult game, lots of teams go to Hull and struggle to get anything so we thought we needed to be nice and solid in midfield," Hughes explained.
The Spaniard came on in the first half and Hughes said: "He showed glimpses of what he'll give us this year."
Bojan made his debut for Barcelona as a 16-year-old but spent last season on loan at Ajax, scoring four times in 24 appearances for the Dutch club.
He was introduced in the 41st minute of the 1-1 draw at the KC Stadium after an injury to Glenn Whelan.
Although he was brushed aside in the build-up to Nikica Jelavic's goal for Hull, he provided the key cross that led to the equaliser for Ryan Shawcross.
"I was going to make a change in the second half anyway," Hughes added. "We needed to take one of the defensive midfield players off and get Bojan on. It was difficult to find him, we were a little bit out of sorts, but I thought he did okay."
I think he could easily get 2 or 3 goals in GWs 4 & 5.

Yeah, I'm not saying he's a hot prospect BUT I think he's worth sitting on until those fixtures pass. He hasn't exactly been awful and has been decent on the pitch (unlike Riviere, Pelle etc.)

I did Bojan>Naismith on saturday night before the value changes. You're right that you need to get ride of Young though, perhaps siggy if you don't have him yet... or Henderson? He got in the box plenty against City but just got crowded out each time.

They're both good choices. Jovetic is clearly a favourite of Pellegrini's since he brought him to the club. Remy for 7.5m @ Spurs or Arsenal would be the best value though, I think.
