        I'm satisfied with Pieters so far, but he is hardly worth a hit.
        There are viable 4.5 options out there, but they need to be part of a rotation.

            Its easy to get a bit excited about rank but early on its an even worse fallacy. A few points can cause a serious drop or rise in ranking. Personally I think rank is meaningless till at least GW5.

        Negredo still out for a while, Aguero will play often if/when fit but do not expect him to start vs Stoke. 45 mins could be enough for a goal though but don't expect a hatty.

        It helps that the price change sides aren't working. It presents a unique opportunity for us FPL managers to focus on who we get without being influenced too much by price changes.

      To those of you who think Di Maria will play as a wing back, earlier in pre-season LVG said he can't play 4-3-3 because he doesn't have wingers of the highest quality like Ronaldo or Di Maria. He mentioned Di Maria specifically and now he has him people are thinking he will play him a wingback? What a waste that would be. Di Maria will play as a winger or in the hole. Remember at Az, Bayern and Barca LVG played a 4-3-3. He only played 3-5-3 at the WC with Holland due to the limitations of that squad.

      The first two games were not good for United and clearly the midfield and defence are having a lot of trouble adjusting, particularly in the early phase of build up play where too often one of the CBs just ends up booting it. Most of the players seem so uncomfortable playing in it and I think LVG see's Di Maria as the player to allow him to play his favourite formation and allow the players to fill roles they're more familiar with.

            Maybe but I'd think if we don't buy another CB then we cant maintain this system for much longer, its clearly not working.

              May be right, although Rojo gives us more balance, as a genuine left sided defender.

              I've already said - I expect di Maria to take up the Robben role (free role off the front)
              But I also think a formation switch is the next most likely scenario.

          When Conte resigned I really thought that was the Vidal deal done. Alas, now I have completely given up hope and would settle for any player who is in anyway a competent central midfield player.

          Yes he said he prefers Rooney as a 9 or a 10, but that Rooney told him he can play on the wing if he wants him to. I'm interested to see how he handles the Rooney jigsaw piece, but LVG will just do what he thinks is best, He won't have qualms about dropping RVP, Rooney, Mata or whoever.

        He's a winger, who's best season (last season) for Real came when he played in the midfield three behind Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale.

        If Man Utd play 4-3-3, one of Rooney and Van Persie has to be dropped, unless Van Gaal plays Rooney on the left, or decides to rip up the copy book again and switch to 4-4-2.

        Di Maria played as a central midfielder during his best season at RM. Not a passing, controlling one but a ball winning, dribbling and starting quick counter attacks. As a winger he has always blown hot and cold.

      A comparison between Dzeko and Jovetic is quite telling...

      With no other transfers pressing, this might be the one I make... although I find it a bit sideways... Dzeko could easily be the one to score next week v Stoke... 😕

      Don't fancy doubling up on Swansea (Bony) or Spurs (Ade) either... although perhaps those guys are better long term options and more secure than Jovetic...

      Can't get Aguero without taking a hit either...

          I think it's a risk, you're selling two on form players... Aguero could light it up, but he might only play 30mins next week, and even when he starts getting 80-90mins, there is no guarantee he won't get injured again...

      Aguero. Get him in or wait ??

      The thing ive learned last season is not to jump on aguerowagon too early

      .Ofcourse he's a worldclass player who teases us with goals from sub apps when he returns

      He's expensive and we all make a plan and gets him in by making a sacrifice in another area only to get his hammy injured again.Id wait until he completes a full game Anyone agree ??

      Okay so Bojan survived the drop and allow me to think

      0.5m ITB 1 FT
      a) Bojan -> Naismith
      b) Bojan -> 6m options (Jelavic, Wickham)
      c) Bojan Cahill -> PVA + Jovetic
      d) Bojan Cahill -> Bruce + 8.5m options (Adebayor, Bony)

        I ended up doing C but had Cahill instead of Terry. I went for Dumnet as couldn't stretch to PVA or Colo who are both good options
