I find it funny how a team who loses to Swansea at home and draws with Sunderland can buy a player for £60m!

Even as a small boy Di Maria must have always dreamt of playing alongside players like Cleverly, Fellani, Smalling, Young, Jones, Blackett, and Fletcher. Its just a realization of that dream Sarjent

I don't think it's much of an injury at all... he'll be fine...

Saying that, Jovetic looks great... considering the switch myself...

The only thing that is stopping me is that it looks too sideways and too short term...

not sure why i asked, elliot will never play and krul will have bad fixtures

mannone has home and away rotation with krul

on top of the begovic/stoke is poor and clyne is a far better southampton pick

Yeah, your right Elliot won't play, unless Krul's injured, that's why you have him.

          Keeper rotation is crap.

        Cheers Zep, I figured so.
A little stuck at the moment though - 2FTs and having worn a couple of price drops, a little stuck at the moment. GW3 looks as follows
        Krul
        Terry Debuchy Clyne Caulker
        A. Young Mata Sterling Ramsey
        Rooney Costa
        Begovic Wisdom S.Davis Diouf

Alternate option I have is S. Davis & Diouf > Sigurdsson & Naismith

Usually not one for these comparisons but Sánchez and Di Maria are similar in quality and United are paying £40m more than what Arsenal paid. Ridiculous. Never scored more than 7 league goals in his career and he was available for less than £30m last season.

      whats your problem?

the money isnt coming out of ur pocket?

or is it more the fact that u foolishly thought like everyone else that united without european football wouldnt be able to attract the biggest names and pay the biggest fees?

This 'money coming out of your pocket' thing is BS when United fans always criticize Liverpool and City for their spending.

          11 years, 3 months ago

we were not taken over by some sheikh billionaire and pumped full of cash we earned our money through developing our own players and huge success from doing so.. that would be my only issue there but no real problem with city they can spend what they like thats the way it is..

we are spending big because we need too its simple as that big money needs to be pumped into certain areas of the squad

we dont settle for mediocrity and years of fighting for scraps we are adressing what needs to be addressed

          we arent arsenal

Laughable. Arsenal had a project and sacrificed short-term success in order for it to work. Manchester United have no vision.

They're not paying £40m more than what Arsenal paid for Sanchez and while not a great goal scorer Di Maria is still one of the best wingers in the world. Great player and great assistman.

      1. 7alwachi
        • 11 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

I agree he's one of the best but you'd expect high goalscoring returns from an attacking midfielder that costs that much. The Sanchez deal was £35m with around £25m up front and the rest in future bonuses. Di Maria is just over £60m rising to £75m.

    4. lilmessipran

not really very different kind of players alexis doesn't have the penetration that di maria has .Is a better finisher no doubt but can't open up defenses like adm.Considering this plus that utd need good players desperately before the window ends the deal looks good.

        Debuchy / Lovren / Caulker / Chester / Wisdom

        Hazard / Mata / Ramsey / Siggy / Mutch

        Rooney / Costa / Bojan

Sitting on 2 FT. Just want to get Bojan out. Options are: Naismith, Jelavic, Berahino, or something more drastic like the above, or dropping Rooney for Adebayor and Bojan for Jovetic.

True... but I have no liverpool coverage 🙁

        I have in midfield:

        Mata Hazard Ramsey Siggy Lamela..

        maybe Lamela for Sterling? D:

        1. The Sarjeant
          • 12 Years
          11 years, 3 months ago

Yes, Lamela > Sterling looks great. Sterling and Sturridge are basically playing in the same positions at time. Sturridge likes to drift out wide, and when he does, Sterling makes runs into the middle. The price difference between the two is big enough to go Sterling over Sturridge. The only problem is, is that Sturridge is arguably the better player, and if he finds some form over the next few weeks, then he might actually be the one to go for with Liverpool's good fixtures.

Although all this might change with Balotelli signing and all their other players regaining fitness.

No to Yoshida,Studge & Aguero (for the time being)

Jones ----> Colo could work since he's nailed long term.

Dummet also could work for the 0.5 you save, but it would be a more short term move, if & when he's subbed in the coming weeks

Quick Q guys, how's my back line looking?

    Debuchy(lei)A] - Caulker(sun)H] - Clyne(WHU)A] - Pva(QPR)A] - ?Naughton?(LIV)H]

Not the best rotations atm, hoping to change that up a bit come international break.

    Thoughts??

    DDG
    Baird/Debuchy/Cahill/Clyne/Chester
    Mata/Eriksen/Sterling/Siggy/Ramsey
    Dzeko/Rooney/Fletcher

I have 2 FT's and im thinking of doing:

    Baird-->Dummet
    Dzeko--->Jovetic

Thoughts?? Any replies would be appreciated 😀

Dzeko to Jove doesn't sound too fruitful right now. Also not injured, could very well play next week.
Back line could do some tweaking some Newcastle coverage IMO

      Save one FT though

But you would surely think Jovetic will start next week after his performance against Liverpool. Aguero is likely going to start next GW. So where does that leave Dzeko? The fact that he is not in form and is SLIGHTLY injured suggests that he is going to be coming of the bench.

        1. Zasa
          • 11 Years
          11 years, 3 months ago

Jovetic will start, Dzeko injury wasn't too serious & Aguero still isn't 90 min match fit.
Dzeko will at minimum get you a good 60 minutes against an uncoordinated Stoke defense.

Fletcher I would keep for GW3 for his good run of fixtures.

Save it for next week mate, then upgrade either Dzeko or Fletcher according to any imminent threat or poor form

Sarj: would you make any transfers with this lot? Nothing in the bank.

    Krul
    Terry | Clyne | Caulker
    Fabregas | Ramsey | Sterling | Eriksen | Sigurdsson
    Rooney | Costa

How many transfers have you got? Just the one I take it. Everything seems fine to me. You have quite a lot of targets that I'd like to own.

Down the line though, I'd look at swapping out Ward, but no rush.

Eriksen and Lamela both looked threatening against QPR, although I have to admit Lamela looks the better prospect at the moment. If only Eriksen's FK didn't hit the bar.

    Hi all,
    Did really well this GW.
    Need to keep it going.

    2 Ft's

    De Gea, Gilks
    Clyne, Cahill, Naylor, Wisdom, Pieters
    Lamela, Mata, Ramsey, Sigurdsson, Marney
    Jovetic, Rooney, Costa

Is it worth bringing in Krul for DDG and possibly Ivanovich for Cahill?

    Thanks

A lot of people suggesting to with Krul..

There were a lot of people suggesting to get rid of Jovetic, Lamela and Mata too tho!
I expect DDG to come good and yeah great fixtures..

Just it would free up some cash to change him and I have 2 ft's.

          What do ye think?

If fit i recon he will get the start vs Stoke a t home, just gives Aguero a bit more time to rest up. Aguero for another 30 min cameo.

    Ok, one more time...

I know a hit for a GK is generally frowned upon. But with Begovic in horrible form, set to drop and staring down the barrel at City next weekend surely getting him out isn't knee jerk? They shipped goals to Aston fricking Villa and a 10 man Hull City.

    Bego>Forster seems so obvious.

If even there was a week to do it, it'd be when Begovic is away to City.

I'd prefer Krul tbh, and look to bring in Clyne or Bertrand in the bear future. Although this many transfer on defensive structure isn't ideal this early.

All good points really. but after that game to MCI, they have a great run of fixtures til GW10.
Bego is a quality & proven keeper, don't count him out this early, he's a long term prospect.

Also, keep in mind all those saves he'll most likely get against MCI. Stoke will park the bus.
