With the international break affording us time to reflect on proceedings, we roll out the first in a series of three members articles. Starting with the defenders, we assess some of the standout contenders across the first three Gameweeks of the 2014/15 campaign.

        Ivano or no Chels def.

They don't look stable yet. I'm basically getting Ivano for att points. He is a hog...rising...scoring...fixtures to attack...and he will be in my team when at 7.5m and Chelsea stability returns

I think Falcao is too new to invest in. Sure Utd have nice fixtures, but they've already had quite a few nice fixtures in which they've failed to impress.

Liverpool also have a nice run coming up. I'd be more inclined to invest in them until Falcao + Utd prove themselves to be worth it.

        Ramsey or Fab???

Current WC (see above), only caters to one.

Currently Rambo but I'm inclined to leave him out and go Cesc.

        Neither are essential imo.

Well I've had both Ram and Fab since June/July but I need to know who to keep.

Fab it seems. Rambo scores Fab assists though.

I've had Ram since the beginning and just got Fab for Mata so I can't choose one 🙂

Why not both? If you have Costa I think that's a good consistent way to get into the Chelsea points.

Ah I see now. Awesome attack. I think Ramsey and Costa is good.

Personally I might drop Ivan for cheaper cause JWP every week seems iffy!

People quite rightly still in love with Ramsey because of his heroics last season.

But from what I have seen so far, I would want three Chelsea (I have Costa, Fab, Courtois AND Ramsey - but no Falcao).

          So Fab over Ramsey

              Not necessary.

Hodgson has tons on his CV and he is garbage. Ability to lead and inspire a group of individuals is what's need. Hodgson can't do that either.

You have to have a good CV to get the England job. Hodgson CV isn't bad tbh. Managed Switzerland, Inter, took Fulham to the Europa League final and did well at West Brom.

        Ivan - Wisdom - Dummett - Duff - Moore

        Haz - Ramsey - Sterling - Siggy - Marney

        Costa - Rooney - Dzeko

or shall I WC and have:

        Bego

        Ivan - Clyne - Hutton - Wisdom - 4.6

Di Maria - Ramsey - Sterling - Siggy - Marney

        Costa - Falcao - Welbeck

          Simplified:

          a) Dummett, Duff, Moore, Haz, Rooney and Dzeko

          b) Clyne, Hutton, 4.6 def, Di Maria, Falcao and Welbeck

Well I guess your defense is fine for next week (Ivan, Moore, Dummett/Wisdom I suppose) but I'd sort that out soon. Offense is fine imo, I'm holding both Rooney and Dzeko as well

I was happy with Rooney but if he gets dropped into mid I feel he'll be less of a goal threat and Dzeko is horrible own. Never know if he's gonna play.

My thoughts on these two: Holding Rooney will at least yield some assist points if Falcao does play, plus he is still on set pieces/penalties for now, so hold to see at least QPR at home.

As for Dzeko, rotation is always a risk but the way Jovetic/Aguero combined last week was dreadful. That and Negredo's exit convinces me to hold Dzeko for at least a bit more (it is a risk though

I fear Rooney OOP, Dzeko not nailed, Haz injured and inconsistent + I have Costa and Ivan for Chelsea cover and the less said about Dummett, Duff and Moore the better.

        Krul / Elliot
        Dier / Bertrand / Duff / Moore / Dummett
        Ramsey / Sterling / Siggy / Haz / Albrighton
        Rooney / Ade / Aguero

Any advice on what to do with my team would be much appreciated. Only have 1 FT but don't mind taking a 4 point hit if needs be. Or just stick for one more week and do something with 2 FT next week?

        Assuming de Jong is injured:

        A) de Jong>Henderson (-4) -->1.4M ITB
        B) Play Moore - Stoke (A)
        C) de Jong>Fabregas and Rooney>Adebayor (-8)

Sakho got MOTM against Spain. Can see Moreno Sakho Lovren Manquillo being a much better defence this year. And with Valdes coming in Mignolet will step his game up too.

Lots to gain by saving a FT and having two the following week:
            - check injuries from the internationals
            - see line ups with all the new players signed in the transfer window
            - see how CHE/LIV/ARSE/MANC rotate between PL and UCL teams and where they place priority

Apologies in advance for the odd question.
Adebayor is in my FPL team and I have some money on him being top goalscorer.
I missed the Liverpool game, I heard he was poor, was he really that bad?
Any chance of him being dropped, threat by Kane/Soldado. And is he on penalties.
Or just general thoughts on him! Thanks

Despite their amazing attack Utd have only scored 2 goals this season so far. I expect Falcao will start with Utd playing at home.

Guessing Rooney will play CAM behind Falcao and RvP. Poor Mata will get dropped.

Still seem to lack pace though.

I have a question to those playing 3-5-2. For your last striking option do you go bottom of the barrel and go all the way down to 5m and lower forward just to accommodate other positions or do you have goal scoring cheap option that hops off the bench if your in trouble?

            Would advise Naismith.

              My side is...

              Krul Elliiot
              Moreno Wilson Coloccini Duff Taylor
              ADM Lamela Ramsey Siggurdsson Sterling
              Costa Sturridge Jut***wicz

I was thinking of Naimsith and even more Ulloa but I would have to find that .5

A is safer than B IMO but we should have a better idea of B in a few weeks time.

Utd's best XI this year. 41212:

          Falcao van Persie
          Rooney
          Herrera Di Maria
          Blind
          Shaw Rojo Jones Rafael
          DDG

Look weak at the back still.

The whole thing is an abomination.

Man U become what Barca/Real Madrid used to be (and still are) - sign only superstar forwards so El Presidente can please the fans and get re-elected, and ignore the duller areas of the team i.e. defence

Severe lack of pace, bar Di Máría that midfield is about as fast a cohesive unit as a steamroller.
