Today’s Members article sees the top ten defenders in terms of value come under the spotlight. What’s noticeable with regard to our projected points per Fantasy pound is only one of our top ten defenders ranks higher than any of yesterday’s top ten goalkeepers- with “Save” points boosting the goalkeeper tallies, it highlights the importance of picking the correct goalkeeper pairing in order to get the most out of your budget…
R Johnson and Yaya
Cashley and Watson
or Luiz and sessegnon?

Would be interested to hear whether people are relatively certain that Bramble will be in Sunderland’s starting 11?Open ControlsI picked Saurez first week he played, took most people three weeks to cotton on. Gervinho guys,he's the man!
Open ControlsBased on what exactly...that you picked Suarez last year?
Open ControlsI honestly don't think Suarzez was a very good pick last year. there were many more strikers that were better to have during the second half of the year, and if you had Kuyt, you didn't need him.
Open ControlsHe's a great player but there are better striker options imo. I've currently got Carroll penciled in.
Open Controls
A. Lampard, R Johnson, J Enrique
or
B. VDV, Baines, Simpson
Which for short term?
Which for long term?Open ControlsA for both well first 12 weeks anyway

Will briggs start for fulham?
Open ControlsI may as well post one of these RMTs. I hope I'm at least different enough to spawn a reply or two.
Given / Ruddy
Baines/Warnock/Hughes/Kompany/Simpson
O'Hara/Nzog/Silva/Sinclair/Moses
RVP/Bent/Zamora
I guess I'm not as different as I thought...Open ControlsLooks great only worry is lack of Chelsea coverage. Which burnt me at this time last year.
Open ControlsIf malouda starts and there is some glimmer of hope as to who plays more than 60 mins between Malouda/Torres/Drogs, I'll throw in some Chelsea. I have a less balanced squad option of swaping out bent for Rodellega, Baines for Bramble, and then Silva can become Lamps. Same thing can be thrown around for a VDV and Malouda midfield.
Thanks for the reply!Open Controls
you may want to reassess when nzog goes to villa, you'll have four of them!

Will Rafael be worth selecting? Very tempted by the price (and Man U coverage) but not sure if he'll be playing every week.
Open Controls3 games played at RB in pre season - 2 assists and a goal (when moved into RW position)...
Negative point is United's fixturesOpen Controlswow!! was he that effective? surely fergie will opt for him...

thoughts, suggestions pleeeaseOpen ControlsThe Aguero news excites me (about Man City agreeing a fee). Saw him play at an Athletico Madrid game a couple of seasons ago in Spain. His link up play with Forlan was incredible. My immediate thoughts were that he would do well in the premiership. Plays a kind of Rooney type role...gets into good positions, happy to set up others and can score himself. He looked stocky then as well...stayed on his feet alot.
I hope he's less than 10m....I suspect he'll come in at 10.5m. I'll give him a game to see, but believe me he is a seriously good player and firmly on my watch list.Open ControlsYa same here. With City rotating fixtures of indifference, nice home middle/tough away I can play the JD "wait and see " tactic.
He probably will need small bit of time to settle , and some fitness as he aint training at minute.
Excellent player though.Open ControlsIf Tevez leaves and Aguero joins, he will definitely be in my starting team.

Am playing in a league with no transfers allowed. What do you make of this team for the season? 4-3-3
Reina/Howard (rotating)
Collins, Clichy, Samba, Coloccine/Bardskey (rotating)
Dempsey, VDV, Anderson (Etherington/Barton to sub if Anderson not playing)
Bent, Beckford, Zamora (again Etherington/Barton to cover for Beckford if not playinf)
0.5 spare but don't see where it could go. Why are there no 7.0 mids???Open ControlsToo much money in GK, I think. Pick one to start virtually every week, pick a 4/4.5 keeper, and apply the difference in midfield.
Where's your captain? I'd also drop Colo/Bards to two 4.0s and apply all your money to Ethers 9in order to get a captain prospect > Silva, VDV, Lampard ... someone.
I know it's a no-touch, year-long league, but I think you dumped more money on subs than I would do. Get a solid 11 with 3 basement-priced players who play.Open ControlsThanks for the thoughts. Am worried about injuries so have put more money than normal into two goalies.
Agree with you on Etheringont. Would like another solid mid. hmmm....
PS thanksOpen Controls
Since there's no changes I'd get rid of those who get injured of aren't certain starting 11 - Clichy, Anderson and Zamora.
I agree with K.E with too much in gk, personally I think I'm going Given/Schwar which most on here would still consider expensive, but to me seem solid.Open Controlsor* - Damn autocorrect.
Open ControlsAgreed on Anderson (I just fancy him this season).
Zamora is a risk ... my thiking was his opening fixture are so good I'll shoot ahear and my rivals will quite ...
Clichy not a nailed on starer?Open ControlsHe is a safe(ish) starter but around champions league games there could be rotation. Clichy that is.
Zamora gets a few injuries so seems risky season long. If Anderson gets the gametime he could be great this season, towards the end of last season he seemingly came on as a player. But if his form dips even slightly he could easily be rotated which would make him too risky season long.
For a season long team it's all about trying to finish the gambles so you are assured a more or less constant. This is why Bent is a decent option as he's been consistently decent if never spectacular.Open Controls
Many thanks

The lack of detailed information on this ea sports index is killing. I love playing the stats and there just aren't any available. Top 100 doesn't mean anything. If someone is steady Eddie and plays each week they are going to be high on the list but potentially never receive any bonus points. So frustrating. Has anyone found anything more useful than the summary on the premier league website?
Open ControlsJust Curious on People's thoughts on A Given/Schwarzer combo? Though i've only looked at the 1st 7 GWs. I'm guessing it becomes horrible thereafter.....
Open ControlsIf you fancy saving 0.5m look at Kenny (QPR) - him and given v good rotation for up to GW6
Open Controlsbest 4.0 goalie to go with given in your opinion?
Open Controls
alot of money on gk...Given yes..based on fixtures...I'd go a cheaper one Al Habsi? Ruddy? perhaps. You will want to play given a lot.
Open ControlsHow about Hilario and bank on Cech getting injured?
Open Controls
de Gea or Vidic?
Open Controlsde Gea if youre insisting on MUtd coverage at the back. 8.0 is wayyyy to much for a defender imo

Skrtl fouls too much, would go for cheaper Kelly. The more I think of it the more I'm tempted to put him in my team.

I need a MF for 6.5. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advanceOpen ControlsMy team has an appalling amount of blue, with a shocking lack of red.
Should I swap out one of my blues and/or stripes in order to bring in a red/reddish player?Open ControlsYes.

Kompany, Dawson, Cahill, Riise (Kelly)
Benayoun, N'Zogbia, Jarvis, Brunt (Dyer)
Suarez, Van Persie (Gyan)
Was thinking about downgrading gyan and upgrading Jarvis or Brunt
Suggestions...Open Controlsvery nice. what about holt for gyan then you can upgrade jarvis, brunt or dyer
Open Controlswho would you keep brunt or jarvis
Open Controls
Its very different from everyone else's but i'm not sure i'd feel comfortable with Dawson, Cahill or even Riise really at their prices. Kelly probably wont be a regular either by the time the season kicks off.
Benayoun maybe a good pick but pretty risky at the moment. Jarvis is ok but better options at the price and tends to only be good at home. Brunt isnt on penalties anymore and Dyer is ok but if strucutured right your team shouldnt need to go that cheap. Forwards are good but i'd be tempted by to swap Gyan for a cheaper option and upgrade your midfield.
Hope that helps.Open ControlsDe gea - tough fixtures + high price
Cahill - Bolton have tough first few games
Riise - Hughes is £1m cheaper
Dawson - Not sure if Spurs keep clean sheets + look at there fixtures
Benayoun - rotation risk
Gyan - down grade and improve elsewhere...
No Chelsea or City coverage... Might struggle in early weeksOpen Controls
Hi Guys,
I've tried to go for a nice balanced team. Feeling nervous not having Rooney and Persie but he who dares and all that.
What do you think peeps?
Given, De Vries
Kompany, Baines, Hughes, Bramble, Simpson
Sinclair, VDV, Malouda, Nzog, Moses
Bent, Suarez, GrahamOpen ControlsGood team: 8.5 /10
I would consider getting holt instead of graham, sinclair should be enough swansea cover until we see more ofthem.
Also you wont be able to get the big hitters (rooney, rvp, tevez)into your team straightaway.Open ControlsYep 442 mostly but i wont be nervous to go 3-5-2 which is my prefered option. I prefered holt but i've already squeezed out every penny so not even 0.5 spare.
Im not going to make a transfer the 2nd week so if i need to get a big hitter in i'll swap one of Malouda or VDV depending on who's struggling with probably Bent.
Thanks for your responses guys.Open Controls
This is a very well balanced side...
Couple of things...
Baines - not solid on £8m for a defender Ashley cole is 0.5m less and has better fixtures?
I also have Kompany, and Hughes (Bargins IMO)
VDV - Have you looked at T.Cahill (Tasty fixtures and £1m less)
With the baines-cole and vdv to cahill you have enough to upgrade malouda to lampard (pens/freekicks/corners)
Bent and Suarez I do like - I assume RVP in GW4?Open ControlsGood and well considered suggestions Y45. Ta. With the Baines Vs. Cole debate. I kinda flip it and think for only 0.5 more I get a player who regularly assists, scores the old open play goal and is on penalties plus in the new bonus system should do well, i think.
Cahill is an interesting shout, i'd not even considered him. He's certainly under the radar of a lot of people. I went for Arteta last year and got royally burned but i still hold the opinion that he's very hot or cold. VDV will nearly always get you something and is a viable captain choice. I'd never feel that way about Cahill.
Malouda to Lampard though would indeed be nice.....Mmm food for thought indeed.
Ta everyone, appreciated.Open Controls
Thoughts on initial team?
Given Ruddy
A.Cole Kompany Hughes Enrique Wilkinson
N'zogbia Taarabt Sinclair Lampard Wilshere
Suarez Gervinho BaOpen ControlsThis is about the fifteenth version of my team and I'm still not completely happy with it! Please RMT guys:
Al-Habsi
A Cole, Kompany, A Hughes
Malouda, N'Zogbia, Taarabt, Moses
Bent, Suarez, Holt
Subs: Given, Sinclair, Jose Enrique, Jagielka
£1.0m in the bankOpen ControlsNice team, just a thought though, couldn't you downgrade Enrique to Simpson, then get in Lamps for Malouda?? Suarez also a slight worry (will he, won't he start the season).
Open Controlsi dont see need for both enrique and jagielka in that price range. lose one of them and upgrade Moses or save it for funding RVP in. Other than that very well balanced
