Reconsider Kelly, Senderos, Beattie, O'Shea and Al-Habsi.

Kelly is staying unless kenny signs a new full back. which I dont see happening.
Senderos has been starting games in preseason so far, hes a cheap option if he continues to earn starts.
I personally think Beattie is a good shout, and not expensive.
Interesting to hear why you think I should reconsider O'shea tho.
Fair point with Kelly. He looks like a starter, keep him if you think Liverpool will keep clean sheets, but pre-season so far, and considering their start, it looks fairly unlikely.
Senderos if he starts is a great choice. More when we get confirmation though. I'd rather pay the extra for Hughes.
Beattie I don't like at all. He has neither set pieces nor penalties to help him, and Swansea have a really tough start. That and the fact you're giving up a striker spot which is one of the most valuable in the entire squad.
O'Shea isn't a good choice because you can get Bramble or Brown for cheaper and they'll probably score better too with the new bonus system.
i think thats pretty dam good dare i say camzy is being a little harsh only beatie and dyer are unknowns to me the rest are ok imo

Yes, I have no Chelsea or ManC attacking coverage but that can be rectified in GW2 by taking out VDV/a-n-other. I've taken into account a) season ticker b) projections c) gut feelings, plus other posts on here with reasoned arguments and have come up with a starting team of:

i'm staying away from vdv at the beginning due to fixtures and going w/malouda, then it's an easy swap once they lighten up. i'd get at least one united player too.
I had Malouda in the beginning King Eric, but due to uncertainty over whether he'll start and Spurs are home to Everton, I think it's worth the gamble.
As far as ManU players - Rafael is bookmarked for when fixtures ease up.

Downing's position is a little unsure as of yet, and at a new club I wouldn't start the season with him.
I'd rather Ba than Rodallega, but I'd try to find the extra .5m for Zamora.
Suarez may not start the season.
I'm not sold on Moses yet.
I'd go for B if pushed, but I think there are still a few too many uncertainties.

Maybe. I think they'll really struggle this year. Having said that, if Moses does play he just may be a decent cheapy.
I think my problem (and not just with your question) is all of the uncertainties surrounding the starting XIs at this stage of the season.
Personally, I've put down a XV that I'll probably barely tinker with now until a week or two prior to the start of the season.

Now i know ppl are going to say too much money in defence but i honestly think that its hard to upgrade this midfield for the good except dyer. Anybody have any thoughts on gettin rid of Cole and then altering my midfield. This i think is the reason for everyones RMT being so similar in midfield.

That is very nearly my exact team, until you get to the strikers. I've got Sinclair rather than Dyer, and RVP / Suarez / Holt up front. So yeah obviously I would say this but I think it looks alright!

what do people think to Benayoun & Bosingwa getting regular game time at the start of the season? Also what about Walker (Spurs)?
no idea, wait and see. definitely watching walker, he'll be fighting it out w/either hutton or corluka, whoever stays.

Can't see it to be honest. Chelsea back 4 / front 2 about as predictable as the lottery
a benayoun starting place wud make such a big difference to the amount of cash to spend elsewhere whilst still giving chelsea coverage...same goes for a modric transfer
I'm thinking Walker may get the nod. Really wany Benayoun & Bos to start as it gives me cheap chelsea coverage. People are saying Bow will play beacuse he & AVB are both portugeuse. I'm not buying into that but if AVB wants attacking football, surely Bos is his man for right back?

Does anyone think Downing will start this season in the Liverpool first team?
If so is he a better bet to start with than VDV?

VDV is FPL gold. He puts up numbers regularly against all proponents.
Downing is solid too, but lord knows how Liverpool's rotation is going to look.
I think people are forgetting VDV form after January... Having said that, i would much prefer him over Downing.
when he's fit, he's great. i think he would have surpassed nani for pts. last season had he not joined the league late and had niggling injuries.
He puts numbers up RANDOMLY against all opponents. He isn't fixture proof he's just unpredictable. He was gold last season when he was £8, this year I'm not so sure.

Maybe, he won't score as many points but he has cheaper so it depends what you spend the money on.
