Non. I've come to the conclusion that our defence isn't to blame. The tactics are. I've seen all the pre-season games and it's exactly the same as last season, massive gaps everywhere, especially on the counter attack.

Anyone know if de wolves goalkeeper De vries will start ?
I'm trying to weigh up between Rodallega and Holt up front. On one hand, Rodallega has a cracking trio of opening fixtures, and can see him scoring well. On the other hand, if Norwich start well then Holt will surely benefit significantly, and I'd have a bit more money to play with, and Wigan can blow hot and cold.
At the minute I'm leaning towards sticking with Rodallega for the opening 3, by which time I'll have had time to keep an eye on Holt at which point if appropriate he could come in around GW4. I'm not normally one to plan ahead to such an extent, but does that sound relatively sensible? Anyone have any pearls of wisdom to contribute?
What you`ve said is pretty logical .
Rodders has those decent early fixtures plus he`s proven in the Prem .
Holt just has a ? over him stepping up a level in the Prem .
Play safe is my bet ..... but at the end of the day stick to your gut feeling 🙂

switch baines for R johnson or Hughes at 5mil or Rafeal at 5.5. frees up cash and fergusn will not play. anyway he is injured and wont be fit till gw3/4. Obviuosly yur aware that Tevez is more than likely to leave but easily replaced by any tp striker or Aguero. If your really wrried about chelsea coverage id say wait until the week before and should have a better idea of starting XI

Given - 5.0 for a Villa keeper with great fixtures
Al-Habsi - Decent back up keeper, cheap and my mate has an irrational hatred for him so he’s there to prove him wrong just like he did last season
Rafael - Not guaranteed a start but didn't like the look of my team without at least 1 United player + potential cheap route into their defence
Kompany - Great player, good fixtures, always going to play and a cheapish way into City clean sheets
Luiz - Not 100% starter but had a good debut season and has access to Chelsea clean sheets
Simpson/Orr - 4.0m defenders that are likely to start most games and have half respectable clean sheet potential
Nzog - Villa coverage, good fixtures and historically a good fantasy football player
Taarabt - Bit of a gamble at 6.5 but central to QPR attack = potential bonus points + pen taker?
Malouda - Originally had Torres as Chelsea attack but chose Malouda to beef up the midfield a bit (hopefully he’ll start)
Moses - 5.0 hopefully will take up N’Zogbia's responsibilities and has great opening fixtures
Sessegnon - Been playing behind the striker, performing pre-season and has potential of pens
RVP - Speaks for itself, was torn between him and Rooney but RVP in there because of slightly better fixtures
Suarez - Good fixtures, good price, good player but doubt over whether he’ll start the first few games
Zamoura - Fulham with a more attack minded manager, their main striker with good fixtures.
Good team, solid reasoning for the most part. The only reasoning that's flawed is Luiz and Rafael. Expensive defenders who aren't guaranteed starts, the money saved could be used to increase attack.
Malouda and Suarez are subject to change, and, prefer Kenny to Al-Habsi for rotation alone, or Ruddy for a cheaper option.

Thought I'd reply since you went to the effort of justifying your picks unlike so many lazy identikit RMTs.
I like the look of it. Very similar to mine! But will require keeping a close eye on Luiz and Malouda in pre-season. Of the two, I'd be inclined to back the former as more likely of a starting role, but it's very early days yet.

My 2c:
Not keen on Al Habsi or any Wigan player for that matter. Bergo and Given rotate perfectly even though they are slightly more expensive.
I don't see why Luiz and Rafael and Bad K are all in there. Too expensive imo. Question marks over starting places too. Much better to save your pennies and rotate around Bad K.
RVP/Suarez/Zamora for me is the best front line out there right now. Just check if Suarez starts wk 1.
Moses is a bit of an unknown and I would rather monitor first.
Malouda has question marks over starting.
