Paul With a quarter of the season now gone, we’ve decided to cast an eye over the shooting accuracy of the Premier League’s finest in this, our latest Numbers Game article for Members.
In order to eliminate most anomalies here, only those players who have had at least 10 shots at goal and have at least 2 goals are analysed. This still leaves a substantial sample size of the top flight’s main men to scour over and turns up the usual array of interesting results.
Still debating if taking my first 8-point hit (ever, I think) to dump Tevez for Elmander and Bale for Fabregas is a good idea. My team would be:
Foster (Harper)
Jagielka, Cahill, Elmo (Konchesky, Jara)
Fabregas (c), Malouda, Nani, Nasri (N'Zogbia)
Drogba, Elmander, Carroll
Scarily close to my team - would share 9 players! Do it!

yeah, I'd dump 2 of Yaya, Odem and Alex so you have enough...maybe for Boswing. if confirmed he'll play...or Odem to Blackpool...or ride it out if you want Alex and Odem and think they'll be fit soon (Odem had Man City next though?)

So it seems based on the Total FPL tools most of the migration away from Tevez has gone to either Chamack or the little pea... Is that about right?
Those are the two main suspects, but I think the panic button was hit way too early. Tevez could be back next week; and it's entirely possible he becomes a nice differential for those who are willing to sweat it out.

Please explain as the way I might be one of the ones willing to sweat it out as the way I see it if you need to take a 4 point hit, and the guy you pick up "only" scores one goal you come out even with playing one of your subs...

I think I second your agreement... He might fall .1 by the end of the week, but that's about it... But I'd still lose .3 on his value and like I said somewhere above unless my math is completely out of whack even if the guy I picked up was to score 1 goal that would even out with a 4 point hit -- assuming my 5th MD behaved and didn't get a yellow/red... Right?

tevez to hernandez for example. Even if tevez is back in training on monday the transfers out will continue so expect a 0.2 drop in the next week. Hernandez will go up tonight and then probably again in the next few days. Sell for 0.1 more, tevez back in for 0.2 less, surely no worse than sitting back?
I understood what you said... But the variables we need to consider are:
1. Will Hernandez score more than 6 points?
2. How many games will Tevez miss?
3. Do you want to use up your one free transfer next week to pick up Tevez?

me too. I'm even wondering will I want tevez back in 2 weeks. Balotelli and very ocassional rest may come in to play and a certain Mr van Persie is starting to lurk. If I don't get tevez back in or am planning on ditching him for van Persie would you say it's worth ditching now for a short term stop gap (little pea)
Let's look the other way, say he is out for 3 weeks - essentially you've lost out massively.
Preparing for the worst is to get rid, then you have peace of mind as well.
I honestly don't see him playing next weekend even if he's back and healthy... Maybe 20-30 minute sub role to get a run out before the derby... So that's two wasted games (unless you want to gamble having him as a starter for the odd goal of the bench)... So I guess I'm agreeing with you...
But how likely is the little pea to score on the weekend? I know if I want to get him I got 3 hours to do it...

I wasn't going to do it but the more i think about it the more sensible it's becoming. With Chamakh going up in price and Tevez coming down, i'll probably make up the 0.3m in 2 weeks. Not only that but Chamakh would play each week and probably do alright - my only worry is whether he'll start or not.

I have a Foster and would like to find a keeper that rotates well with him. I am reluctant to use Krul because frankly he has 0 CS.
