With a quarter of the season now gone, we’ve decided to cast an eye over the shooting accuracy of the Premier League’s finest in this, our latest Numbers Game article for Members.

In order to eliminate most anomalies here, only those players who have had at least 10 shots at goal and have at least 2 goals are analysed. This still leaves a substantial sample size of the top flight’s main men to scour over and turns up the usual array of interesting results.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Option A - Bale to Adam, Malouda to Fabs - 4 point hit.
    Option B - Bale to Walcott.
    Option C - Tevez to Chamakh, Malouda to Fabs - 4ph.
    Option D - Tevez to Chamakh, Bale to Nasri, Malouda to Fabs, 8ph.
    Option E - Do nothing.

    So tempted on a mad option D!

        I think that's (C) the best option. But to be honest, D isn't terrible either. I can easily see Arsenal winning 5-0 this weekend, and then you'll probably get the 4 points spent on Nasri back. Their next games are good ones too.

      I did Option F:

      Malouda straight to Fabregas, no hit.

      Now I may turn it into C - for a - 4 to bring in Chamakh.

      I don't want Chamakh long term though and I do want Tevez, so I may hold on to Tevez and suck it up. Difficult but I don't like Chamakh long term and it's - 4 out and then need to get Carlos back in at a higher price in 3-4 weeks without improving the rest of the team that's holding me back.

    just had a lsiten to a tevez piece on newstalk, they reckon hes had no holiday cos of the world cup. Its slightly worrying me. He's a professional. Bound by a contract. Club Captain. And he loves to play.

      He'll be off for his 4 day trip and back Sunday night as all reports have said.

      He will return to training on Monday.

      The WBA fixtures is Sunday the 7th. He'll have been back for an entire week by then.

      He'll already have missed 2 matches - WOLVES and a Europa League match against Lech Poznan.

      His owners will hope that City fail to beat either Wolves or Lech Poznan.

      If that's the case he's almost guaranteed to start against WBA, thus only missing 1 game.

      I'm keeping him.

      Note: I'm in at 10.4M. I'd drop him if I was in at 10.8M or 10.9M.

          That's sort of the "on the fence" price.

          I would probably sell him for 10.8M if you have to do so to get in Fabregas or you have a long term plan that makes sense.

          If he goes down to 10.9M, it's only 0.1M lost. Not bad at all. Will you want to bring him back in though within the month?

          Really up to you, I'm holding. I think he'll score 20 league goals and I don't think I'll be able to get him for cheaper than 10.8M in the near future.

          Bought at 10.4M - will keep him. Improve my squad elsewhere as I have some other targets.

          Brought in Fabregas this week. Will bring in VDV next week. By that time Tevez will be back and I'll have a leg up on others in my mini league who don't own him, as well as another great captain option going forward.

            Well there is a way to get Fabregas without him, because I am willing to do Malouda --> Fabregas. Also thinking Bale --> Cahill (4 point hit)

            However would love Chicharito's points over next 2 weeks. I probably would want him back however, at least until Rooney or RVP are competing with him.

            Basically 3 options: (Already done Shawcross --> Coleman)

            A: Malouda --> Cesc
            Bale --> Cahill (Tim)/ Arteta (4 point)

            B: Bale --> Cesc
            Tevez --> Pea

            C: Malouda, Bale, Tevez --> Cesc, Cahill/Arteta, Pea

            Leaning towards A

        I'm in the same boat as you, and was of the same mindset - however...

        Say you drop Tevez for Chamakh, Tevez will drop by 0.1, possibly 0.2 before you need him again.
        Chamakh has a good/fair chance of rising by 0.2 (0.1 in real terms). Arsenal have good fixtures so aside from the extra points you may or may not gain by playing him, in the event that Tevez does take longer to come back from injury (highly possible), then not only are you not losing value, you're also scoring points.

        Arsenal have a good game this weekend and with Fabs back i expect them to be alot mroe clinical - watchin arsenal without Fabs i think they've lacked that killer ball, too much trying to pass it in to the net, i wouldn't be surprised to see Chamakh do well with him back.

        My only worry is the Bendy effect...

          Great argument. And I have been tempted by Chamakh today but, again, I'll have to take him out within the month (RVP / Bendtner, etc.) and when I've watched him in "real life" he hasn't impressed me- and I hate buying those types of players. (Though he has had a good fantasy impact at home.)

          May still go down that route if I get an itchy trigger finger but will be so let down if Tevez returns against West Brom and is only down to 10.9M and Chamakh gets 2 points against West Ham in a Nasri / Asrshavin / Cesc led 2 - 1 London derby win...

    My WC Plan:
    Team:
    Al Habsi-Foster
    Cashley-Mummy-Coleman-Boswinga-Simpson
    Nani-Brunt-Barton-Fabregas-Nasri
    Carroll-Hernandez-Drogba

    GW12 plan to do Cashley,Coleman,Nasri > Kolarov,Tamas,VDV
    GW13 Hernandez > Tevez

    How does that sound? Current team OK for next couple GWs at least?
    Main problem I have is tripling up on Newcastle...But Barton seems best choice in his price range, same with Carroll and same with Simpson!

    I need a big score this week to make up some ground. Any thoughts?

    Jussi (Foster)
    Coleman, OShea, Williamson (Dann, VanDamme)
    Fabregas (c), Essien, Nani, Nasri, Bale
    Drogba, Chamak, (Piquionne)

    I am losing sleep over Bale, think he has a big score on the way and i know the minute i transfer him it will happen. Was thinkin Bale -> Adam or Brunt

        yeah food for thought, but seeing as birmingham have conceded at least two in every away game so far this year i cant see a clean sheet here. liverpool have only scored in one game on the road, so think there is a better chance of a Jussi clean sheet, unless of course he wears his boxing gloves again!

    a) tevez out chamakh in avoiding rise 4 point hit
    b) tevez out berb in 4 point hit
    c) tevez out bent in 4 point hit
    d) tevez out torres in 4 point hit
    e) do nothing
    leaning towards a have fabs

    For this GW I just might start Enrique instead of ElMuhmm. Sunderland not doing so good away so slightly higher chance of a CS from Newcastle? Also, Enrique “due” an assist or BP? Finally, would save me from cheering on Carroll to score against ElMuhmm. Thoughts?

      I'm thinking the same - Sunderland struggle to score unless it's a Dunne o.g. or Bent peno. For that reason I'm dropping Mummy to the bench as I want Carroll to go nuts and Newcastle to also keep a CS. Bit defensive to play Carroll & Mummy imo.

      And if I were to WC I'd switch up my defence to:

      Gilks Al-Habsi
      Bosingwa Elmohamady Konchesky Coleman Simpson

        Life on the edge Teddy - more rotation watch than the Magic roundabout. Al-Habsi looks dropped now for Kirkland too as probably expected.

        my major problem with that shite is that its all scripted, and they pretend to laugh at it.

        Remember who's line is it anyway? THAT is how to do improv. ALl those shows are scripted now, the way they segway into things is just wayyyyy too convenient.

        People dont seem to mind though, but i'm a bit of a comedy connoisseur, so it matters to me.

    Any arsenal fans (MFaulkner etc) have any thoughts about how much gametime we can expect from Chamakh over the next 3 GWs?

    I'm considering a 4pt hit to get him in for Tevez.

    But if Bendtner is likely to take a decent amount of gametime from him...it obviously isn't worth it.

        At least 220 mins I would say, subbed off towards the end. Bendy will be eased back slowly I think and Chamakh is the senior figure in the team so Bendy will have to be patient.
        Although Bendy is the greatest striker the world has ever seen he will have to be content with bit part appearances over the coming weeks. He also started vs Newcastle so you can expect him to drop to the bench again as Wenger gets his cotton wool out.

    I'm a little surprised that Berba has not seeing any sort of rise since the Tevez issues, especially for people doing a 1-2 week trade to bring Tevez back anyway...

    Am I missing something?

        Not done any transfers yet, still cant decide

        N'Zobia/Tevez -->Nasri/Chamakh

        Malouda/Tevez -->Fabregas/Chamakh

        The chamakh move is only short term 2/3 GW's

    Chamakh will play around 70 mins this week I am guessing and Bendtner may start vs Newcastle as Chamakh will play in the CL. If all goes to plan RVP is due back to following week but having said that, Chamakh could certainly give some decent rewards even with limited game time with Arsenal's fixtures.
