Today’s Members article is the third instalment focusing on player value. We turn our attentions to the top ten midfielders in our Members Projections area and analyse just why we anticipate each of them to be so budget-friendly Fantasy prospects in the upcoming 2011/12 campaign. With three of our top four are already justifying our hopes in early pre-season by finding the net in their respective clubs’ friendlies, some of the names are already blinking brightly on our radars…

Bale and Rooney. Both guaranteed starters and not under risk of rotation

hey guys, I have a problem deciding which Chelsea attacking player I will have in my team. Currently I have Malouda but maybe I will go for Lampard. I played with my team for a bit and have the following options:
    A)Dyer(swans)/Lamps VS Sinclair/Mal
    B)Moses/Lamps VS Taarabt/Mal

    What do you think?

I am steering clear of Lamps. too expensive, imo he plays too deep and others will take more of an attacking role. Him being on Pens if the biggest draw but for that price it's just too risky. I want Benayoun to be the bargain from that group but he just isn't nailed on at the moment.

Malouda is the best pick for Chelsea coverage unless you wanna roll the dice on Drogba who imo will rebound and play well this season and is also on free kicks with Lamps.

Thoughts on Briggs at 4.0? Jol said he will give him a chance. Perhaps with Davies out injured at the start of the season Briggs will play the first few games in midfield?

First of all I would identify which players and teams had a good season
the year before, then ask yourself
whether those teams have lost or
gained players that might effect this
seasons performance. Obviously try and go for players who
will be regulars unless injured - that
can save you from making too many
transfers too early. Keep an eye out for
those set piece takers too, as they can
rack up the points for assists as well as goals. Finally, try not to pick players from
your own team out of misguided
loyalty - it doesn't always work out

suarez won't play the first two games ... so not a good selection for such a money ...
and toure isn't the best choice with that value ... I think he was a bit lucky last term to score that number of goals

The Challenge with Suarez though is that 40% of people own him. So his price will rise within the first 1-2 weeks and then if you're on a tight budget you'll have possibly missed out on him.

I think he will start the first game anyways...

If "everyone" (40% is an astronomical number) own a player they're actually the least likely to rise in price because the greater number of players already have.

Suarez will be more susceptible to falling price early on while the lesser owned players (Lampard, for example) are more likely to rise because just a fraction of the players own him so he can still be bought by the bucket load.

lots of people putting sessegnon in their teams
i know he is oop but is he a definite starter given sunderlands 10 signings surely a rotation risk and plus i only remember him doing well in last 5 games of season

    Hello fantasy football aficionados,

Is all the interest in Ruddy mainly down to his price tag or do folk expect decent returns on clean sheets and saves too ? (I've been living outside the UK for a number of years so I'm in the dark about him).

And why does there seem to be so little support for goal-a-game Van Persie in relation to £ooney ?

    Ta.

It's purely that he's the only guaranteed starting £4.0m keeper at the moment really.

I love Van persie. However, given Arsenal have three harder opening games (captain's armband? No chance), and two very important CL fixtures, in August I shouldn't imagine I'll be going near him until after the first international break at the earliest.

    Hi,

Kinda new to fantasy football and been spending hours (much the wifes dismay) trying to pick a team.

Would like pointers from other arm chair managers...

My team for the first game. playing 343

    Ruddy (Habsi)
    Kompany, Clichy, Vidic
    Taarabt, Hoolahan, Toure, Downing
    Hernandez, Holt, Saurez.

    Subs N'Zogbia, Hughs, Samba.

Really tempted in droping Taarabt and picking bent and having a really bif though for a midfielder.

    Thoughts ?
