Gameweek 4 comes to its conclusion this evening as Hull play host to West Ham at the KC. It’s one of those occasions where a goalless draw may best serve Fantasy managers – neither team has a midfielder or attacker with over 3% ownership in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, a clear sign of our lack of faith in their respective attacks.

The team news is in and sees Steve Bruce make two changes from the side that lost to Villa last time around. New boys Mo Diame and Abel Hernandez both come into the starting XI at the expense of Tom Ince and Paul McShane, while fellow deadline-day signings Hatem Ben Arfa and Gaston Ramirez are afforded a place on the bench. James Chester is also amongst the subs as the Tigers boss opts for a four-man backline.

Sam Allardyce makes a trio of alterations to his first-team. Guy Demel comes in for Joey O’Brien at right-back, while summer signings Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia get the nod as Carlton Cole and Ricardo vaz Te drop to the bench. Carl Jenkinson recovers from injury to be named amongst the subs along with new boys Alex Song and Morgan Amalfitano.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

  7. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?

Whoops... Posted this in a dead thread by mistake.

So, I have this team in a 10 person draft fantasy league. Squad size is 16 people. And I've absolutely killed it with my draft picks followed by some crazy wheeling and dealing.

    Anyway, here's the team:

    Forster - Adrian
Vertonghen - Toby Alderwerald - Pieters - PvA - Rafael
    Fabregas - Eriksen - Sterling - Yaya - Siggy - Walcott
    Rooney - Balotelli - Adebayor

Had Debuchy and Jones but decided to drop them after the injuries. Hurt my defense pretty bad. I'm tempted of making a Balo + Siggy offer for Aguero - would you do that in my place?

      balo + eriksen maybe?

      1. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

Think Eriksen will score lesser than Siggy over the course of the season?

I fancy Eriksen's quality to shine through by the end. Feel like Balo + Eriksen is definitely overpaying for Aguero's hammy's personally.

I'm in a ten-man draft league myself. Are Hernandez or Valencia still available on waivers?

      1. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

Nope. Valencia was available but he got picked up as a free agent a few minutes back.

          • 13 Years

Interesting, maybe I'm in a crappy draft league because we're allowed 20 players on our roster and there are some great players left to pickup. If Chadli is still available, maybe the offer of Balotelli and Eriksen for Aguero and then pickup Chadli? If you offer Siggy instead, is Dyer available for pickup?

          1. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?
            • 12 Years
            11 years, 3 months ago

Nope - Chadli and Dyer are both gone. Zaha is still available though.

Yeah - my squad is miles above all the others IMO. Had a great draft (Eriksen, Sterling, Walcott as picks 3,4,5 for me were great while others were picking keepers/defenders). Then managed to make some very good trades exchanging multiple decent players for some good ones and picking up more decent ones from the free agent market. Currently got 4 wins out of 4. Made 204 points total. Guys after me in total points are at 173, 164, 164, 153 so pretty significant.

(Remember - no captains and no bonus points. Though there are small extras players can gain for tackles/interceptions/big chances created).

Do *not* get rid of a starting fwd. Ever.
There are so few of them that even start most games, let alone score.
I'd suggest selling Yaya for another heavy hitter up front.
Hear me know & believe me later... You'll need 4, minimum.

      1. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

        Thanks!

Hmm - who would you suggest trying to get for Yaya? I'd personally like to sell him as well - don't rate him very highly.

I would generally agree with you but I honestly feel like I could just switch to 3-5-2 if one of my forwards got injured etc.

          Pellé?

Just think Giroud or Lambert types from last year.
The *only* front man on a decent side are the kind of guys you want to target.
They're worth their weight in gold in a draft style game.

Think who did better last year: the Aguero owner or the Lambert owner?

Grinders & full time players are truly more important than points per game averages.

          1. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?
            • 12 Years
            11 years, 3 months ago

Taken. Only foward I see available right now is Riviere. I don't understand though... why do I need another forward when I have Rooney/Balo/Ade?

I do agree with you but Aguero/Costa seem tempting to me. They have the potential to settle a tie on their own.

It's head to head games so that helps.

              Yes, grab Riviere.

Reason being is the position is just so thin. Most teams only have *one* nailed on striker & you've got to deal with injuries, rest, rotation, bad matchups & blank game weeks to boot.

The three of those guys ain't gonna get you through the rough Xmas & late spring crunch of matches.

Those in your league who don't get depth up front may be forced to play a 460 some weeks.

Fair point though I don't see why I can't play a 3-5-2 at those points though. I have a solid midfield for certain.

4-6-0 isn't allowed in our game - same formations as FPL.
