We delve into the Gameweek 5 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s new role for United comes under analysis, as do Burnley and Leicester’s displays up front, whilst a couple of north London-based frontmen are also placed under the microscope after their contrasting weekend performances.
Is Mirallas too much of a bench threat to keep?
yes
only after europa games, Martinez will now have learnt never to bench mirallas as he is essential to our success.
Yes. Tadic is 100% the better option in that range because of no European football
I'm at max Soton players, and I still want Forster :]
Haha, same here. Clyne-Tadic-Pelle. Would love Forster instead of Begovic too. Lots of good options in that team but at least I've spread mine out across the positions.
I just got rid of him even though I expect him to do well this weekend. Will not be transferring him back in this season unless they get knocked out of EL - Martinez likely sees winning Europa as his best chance at getting into Champs League. Rotation will be heavy as he showed us all last weekend.
Yes. Even more so when Barkely eventually comes back.
Yes. Its rarely worthwhile having Mirallas
Who would you play this weekend, and why?
A) Ulloa (at Palace)
B) Siggy (at Sunderland)
I'm leaning towards Ulloa, because Palace are an attacking side now and so are Leicester which should make it an open game. I usually side for forwards when in doubt as well.Ulloa
Siggy. Because it's obvious.
Why is it obvious?
Because Sunderland are just as poor defensively as Palace are. Everyone is overreacting to Siggy's lack of luck the past couple of GWs.
Ok so the opposition defences are the same. Ulloa as a striker has a pretty good chance of outscoring Siggy as a midfielder. Can you explain why Siggy is obviously a better prospect?
Siggy plays as a forward for Swans, so that's not exactly sound logic. Siggy has much more potential to explode than Ulloa does. There's also the trend of Siggy doing the business away from home. It's very obvious. But a couple of weeks without a haul and we forget in the world of FPL.
Use the comparison tool between Siggy and Ulloa and come back to me with your logic that explains why Siggy is obviously going to explode and Ulloa isn't.
I only pay so much attention to the stats. Let's just see what happens eh.
Maybe curb your enthusiasm with the word 'obviously' then. Without proper reasoning its just bluster.
What's the point of looking at a positioning stat which includes a match in which Swans were down to ten for the majority?
The stats are ignore due to proper reason, I assure you.Basically what I'm trying to tell you is that if you make a firm statement you should explain your reasoning. Otherwise it would appear you don't even know what you're talking about.
I'm lazy, Ryan. Very, very lazy. Just go with it.
Using tools?
Why cant you just make up your own mind without tools? You can do that too of course. Even then I don't think Siggy would be the obvious choice.
It's a pretty reasonable question i think ... 50-50 really??
Ulloa. Stadium of Light is a tough place to play, even though I can see Siggy ticking over an assist. Ulloa could bag a brace against the leaky Palace defense.
Agree on Ulloa. I've got the same decision to make and letting Siggy sit this one out.
True this ... although Siggy's away record is amazing!! He tends to score his big points hauls away from home.
Apologies for the repost...
Mannone (McCarthy)
Ivan - Baines - Clyne (Wilson - Duff)
Sterling - ADM - Fabs - Siggy (Boyd)
Costa - Pelle - Welbz
1FT - 0.5 ITB
Thoughts? Thanks 😀replied on last page...
Ulloa or pelle? Or both?
I already have Costa. My frontline includes all 3 of those 🙂
Por que no los dos??
Thoughts on this lot?
Elliot ᵍᵏ Krul
Moore ᵈ Duff ᵈ Ferdinand ᵈ Clyne ᵈ Chester
Hazard ᵐ Ramsey ᵐ Sterling ᵐ Albrighton ᵐ Sigurdsson
Rooney ᶠ Pellè ᶠ Diego Costa
0 FT, £2.3m in the bank.
Any need for a hit or just see what happens midweek?
Cheers in advance.no need for a hit imo 🙂
This
Not unless you want to take one for a GK. 😆
Hazard could be a big differential this week.A hit for Krul could easily be covered within a few weeks with his current scoring.
Hoping Hazard & Ramsey have good weeks. One or two at most if you bring the right keeper in. I wouldn't blame you one bit.
i'd hold ... not a fan of Krul given Newcastle defensive woes but not worth taking a hit.
Nice touch with the formatting.
Nah keeps team is good.Cheers all 🙂
Asked this earlier hours ago but its nice and quiet now...
Moreno Clyne Bertrand Moore Hutton. Current Defense
GW7 Bertrand > Robertson (avoid double saints away to spurs)
GW8 Robertson> Chambers, Moreno> Kolarov(kola plays the 'easier' fixtures and better CS prospect)
Kolarov Clyne Chambers Moore Hutton. GW8 Defense
Seem sensible ?Planning defensive transfers is not typically the wisest thing to do.
Also, 6.0 is a hefty price to pay for Kolarov, a player that doesn't start every game.I know its a gamble but just see him as better attacking potential and cs than Moreno , and even if benched Moore and Hutton are decent replacements
that one week Robertson move is an avoidable transfer imo - your defence cant always have plum fixtures...also its hard to plan so hard into the future, as things change very quickly... 🙂
* Should add forward and mids completely happy with no worries at all just Bego a worry looking at Forster around gw10 to rekindle the double Saints again
and yet after this gw you may not be happy at all with them, such is the nature of this game...
Ok thanks for the feedback, first year ive taken seriously this site has really helped me, so its good to get advise 🙂
Don't do defensive trades for just 1GW. You'll regret it as soon as GW 7 has been played and you have other more important transfers to do instead.
Also, I have no issue playing Clyne at WHL. West Brom and Liverpool have already kept Spurs to 1 shot on target there in the first 5 games. They only looked good against QPR, otherwise they've been shyte
Ok thanks mate, would be double sweet if they did keep a CS at the lane, would love it
Long term defensive trades worked better for sure.
Ok thanks mate
Kolarov... swag yolo 360 no scope
😀
Hearing that reminded me of the good old CoD4 ps3 shipment days m40a3 🙂
Hate making a GK transfer this early in the season, but Krul -> Forster does look nice.
A good trade. Sometimes you just need to cut your losses. Newcastle in a downward spiral and starting Krul every week is just guaranteeing yourself 1 point week after 1 point week, basically.
Yay
yep
Any price changes yet tonight lads?
AR will let you know when there are. Don't fret.
😀
^
Lol I don't doubt it. What time do they usually come through? I'm sure it was 1:something last year...
in about 27 minutes time - 2:43am uk time
(Y)
don't think there will be any increases today.
Next 2 GWs only
a) Ulloa + Baines
b) Welbeck + Baines
c) Kun + NaylorActually it's never wrong to go Kun.
I might have just answered my own question.
2FT and £2.8m in the kitty. I'm thinking:
Eriksen > ADM or Fabregas
Naismith > Ulloa
Thoughts?
Bego
Terry Clyne Lovren
Sterling Siggy Ramsey Eriksen
Costa Rooney Naismith
Bench - Duff, Marney ChambersADM + Ulloa ok
Please I'm on WC, two questions:
1) Best keeper rotation at 9.0m right now?
2) Pellé or Aguero for the next gw?1. Forster + McCarthy
2. Agueroooooooooooooo. Idk I'll have both1) Mannone / Heaton
2) Pelle at home to QPR better than Kun at Hull given both players current form
Pulled the trigger on Ramsey and Mata --------> ADM and Sterling, has left me with zero in the bank though so mixed feelings really, mind you I do like the new look to my mids 😉
Good trades.
Will Naismith survive from price drop today?
Would not even like to hazrad a guess on price flucs this year but i have my fingers crossed that he survives
I sure hope so...on -35% to drop...but then again ramsey was -33% yesterday and dropped if im not mistaken...
He's not flagged so no way he survives the week without dropping.
Surely not survive the week. I just hope for today, so I can wait for updates from the cup game before making transfer.
Think he won't drop based on http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk
His drop will be a double-wammy considering that owners will lose 0.1 of the 0.3 rise (if they got him at 5.0 that is).
I got him at 5.2m and wanna trade him for 0.2m profit before the drop. Just don't know what to do yet. 🙁
My team this week:
Heaton (Mannone)
Clyne- Naylor- Duff (chambers, Moore)
Di Maria- Fab-Ramsey-Sterling (Boyd)
Arguero-Costa-Ulloa
Questions:
1. Should I make many changes in picks?
2. Potential replacements for Ramey in the future?
3. Any other comments/ advice ...
Thanks in advance.no
walcott
looks great 🙂
Realistically can Man United recover from this and finish top 4 or 6?
I expect us to scrape top 4. But it will be a dog fight.
there are 33 matches to go haha...
Possible but need Rojo, Shaw, Jones healthy and learning how to play together.
AR, I only got 3 of about 12 risers and fallers right last time, but here's my attempt for tonight:
Risers: Wisdom (owned by 384k and growing so its shocking that he hasn't risen yet)
Fallers: Lovren, Cahill, Eriksen. Also gonna add Caulker as I really want him to drop.Predicting risers is tough enough. Predicting fallers is an exercise in futility.
Pelle to rise tonight. Maybe Welbeck as well.interesting...trouble is there are always loads of those super low ownership plays that drop which are ridiculously hard to predict...
if you get the ones you've just predicted, then im impressed 🙂Yeah I'm totally ignoring the players no one cares about. That would just be a waste of everyone's time trying to predict.
Pelle is also has a good chance of rising but I think it'll happen tomorrow not today.
I'll go with no risers and only Cahill as a well known faller, though could see 15-20 fallers
Who would you play this week?
A) Lovren (vs Everton)
B) Chambers (vs Spurs)
C) Taylor (at Sunderland)
My other defenders are Wisdom (vs Burnley) and Clyne (vs QPR). I have no fwd-def clashes.Deary me these questions.
What's wrong with my questions? Are you still mad about Blackett? 🙂
Considering your arrogance I would expect you to make your own decisions in predicaments such as this.
Thanks for your advice mate. I'll do my best to avoid doing what every other poster on here does again, so as not to appear arrogant.
I'm referring to the irony of you laughing at my team for next week earlier despite being ranked higher than you and yet you're asking questions like these.
not A...between B and C - its a lottery but id favour the homeboy
Don't know if any will CS, but could see Lovren score on a header
Personally I think Arsenal will tear Spurs a new one 4-0
Id play Taylor
Thanks for the responses. Mixed bag there though!
I'm leaning towards Taylor as the Swansea defense has been the most solid out of these teams so far, but any one of the three would feasibly be a decent pick for various reasons I reckon. Will need to reassess this on Friday I think!
I cant figure out this season's price changes.... i see assaidi at the top of risers....
can anyone please tell me who are going to have a price change this time?Assaidi is only there because his NTI is a massive percentage of his really low ownership. Its more of an anomaly than anything else.
Its like a player who's owned by 10 people suddenly getting 10 more owners and having a massive rise %okay...
last year it wasn't like this, was it? it was very easy to see who were rising and dropping
what do you think? save?
.....................Begovic
.........Ivanovic, Clyne, Moreno
Sigurdsson, Cesc, Sterling, Di Maria
.........Rooney, Naismith, Costa
Gilks; Chambers, Marney, Hutton
potential outs being Begovic, Rooney, and Moreno depending..
tempted by Moreno + Rooney > Wisdom + Aguero for -4 because I have transfers I want to make BUT I want to save next week and have 2 FT for international breakDefo not worth it, not yet, the fixtures dont add up you could lose heavy even without the-4
Everton will score so Moreno needs an assist or goal to potentially outdo Wisdom or Moore (forgot to mention him, they're playing Palace).
Rooney home to West Ham should do well but I think he'll be limited in the hole compared to up top whereas Aguero is in a more solid team and has Hull and then upcoming nice fixturesGood transfers, but just not yet, i have Moreno myself but i am worried but the consensus on here and my gut is goals galore he could nick a assist or goal, I also have Ageuro but still think Rooney will outscore him this week only, then from then on Aguero every week will easily outscore him
well the main drive is that I want 2 FT for the international break and that means saving next week..
I'd be getting rid of Naismith if anyone.
you don't think Liverpool could concede loads?
Bego > Forster looks good tooBut will he be on the pitch? He's not nailed, just as I said.
The GK transfer does indeed look good as does Moreno>Duff.how is he not nailed? he was rested because he played 80 minutes on Thursday
Europa fecks everything up. I wouldn't touch an Everton attacker right now.
thankfully Naismith's drop doesn't hurt me as I bought for 5.1
why Duff? highly doubt that Burnley will keep the defensive resolve going. Wisdom and Moore seem like better options
Moore if you don't want to double up on Burnley. But I'd go Duff. West Brom are still crap, despite Spurs shitting the bed.
double up? you mean with Marney? don't mind that so much, Marney will likely never enter my XI
can someone send me a link to the risers and fallers? or comment them? just got on and cant find them!
15 minutes.
that's because they haven't happened yet 🙂
wait 20 minutes...makes sence
Nice avatar bro, made me chuckle 🙂
Got a terrible urge to use my second free on Rooney to pelle, someone talk me out of it
don't do it, it's dumb
do it
i did exactly that yesterday, for exactly the reasons discussed in the article above.
Then again, I need to catch up to you in the OR so don't do it! 🙂In not doing it, its too short term , would rather have 2 frees next week when more info available
Fact you two have done it just comfirms its a bad move 😀Haha, can't argue with that mate! 🙂
I don't think its short-termist at all though. Pelle has great fixtures for another 8 GW's or so, which is a long time in FPL.
Seriously, why would you do this transfer unless you intended to use the money for something else?
i wouldn't. See a high scoring game at Old Trafford this week
That is a short sighted move if I've seen one.
Also, it's difficult to subjectively answer whether something is the best move or not, without knowing the full squad. Something might be a good move, but there might be a more pressing problem in your squad...
I did it in my WC team. But it was to afford Di Maria and Ivanovich.
At least wait until the end of the week ... I wouldn't though Triggerlips!
Although i did shift Mario > Pelle and feel fantastic about it!Good work guys , the urge has past
passed even
Is there a better striker option under £6.8m than Ulloa?
not at this moment
Diouf & Crouch look ok. Not better though.
How's this for a hit lads? Rooney to ulloa and puncheon for adm?
Post your squad. Depends innit
Bego
Baines clyne Moreno
Siggy sterling tadic hazard puncheon
Costa Rooney
Subs myhill Naismith Krul Moore
Puncheon to adm and Rooney to ulloa for a hit? Any other suggestions? CheersPersonally I'd save my transfer and potentially do it next week. Form, injuries, selections may change though so don't have it set in stone.
Cheers
Reason being the rest of your squad is fine for the most part. Sure, some things you'd want to change but nothing that terrible. So you can afford to do these 2 transfers next week and address the other issues the week after. IMO anyway 🙂
Wait, you have 3 keepers in your squad lol
Sorry puncheon to adm
Don't apologise
Last time I brought in a Southampton GK he got scored on in the first minute by Asmir Begovic.
I've got a bad feeling about Forster this week.haha
Can you please buy Krul then. Begovic plays him next... 🙂
I haven't bought Forster yet, I still have Krul. 🙁
Please play him then 🙂 Those wind gusts on a cold monday night in stoke will be out in full force to give begovic a helping hand 🙂
don't think the weather forecast is for strong winds. Bego doesn't score if the wind wasn't nuts
Green (c)
which 2 to bench this week?
Naylor
PvA
Chambers
Wisdom
MorenoPvA and Chambers
The 1st and last
Thinking to do Evans ➡ Chambers to fund Rooney ➡ Kun.
Yes or No?Seems reasonable. Although I don't know that I'd do the second for a hit.
Agree with this ... stage this out
If I already have ADM and no City cover would that be a valid reason for a hit?
Nah. Coverage is a myth. Aguero could be rested or taken off early this week as well.
0.1m off from Naismith -> Ulloa 🙁
What is best to do with 1FT ?
A: [-4pts] Naismith + Ramsey -> Pelle + 6.9m [eg. Chadli, Downing, Moses, Quinn)
B: [-4pts] Naismith + Ramsey -> Ulloa + Tadic
C: Ramsey -> Silva
D: Save FT
Team Now
--------------
Forster
Ivanovic - Clyne - Moreno
Fabregas - Sterling - ADM - Ramsey - Siggy
Costa (c) - Welbeck
Sub: Naismith, Naylor, MooreD
I would save.
Almost always, the answer is save 🙂
Oh.. 0.2m drop in value as Naismith just dropped 0.1m and Pelle just rose 0.1m
🙁 🙁 🙁
5 minutes until the next mystery box unveiling.
It's become more annoying than exciting for me.
think it will be low key tonight
Mata may drop
nice call ... he did
Any FIFA 15 players on here ... especially Ultimate Team?
Just been released in the UK apparently and was wondering what people are thinking about it.In the US but I think I'm getting it at midnight. Already got a nice bronze team I bought on the webapp
Nice ... the web app is about as addictive as fantasy football!
trading is so hard now tho
I've got about 20 squad fitnesses just sitting there that I bought for 600-700 on the first few days - should sell for 1.4-1.5k.
Packed Courtois and Nasri in my starter packs so I'm pretty chuffed!Awesome ... its such pot luck but great when you snag some decent players
Been released already?!
I bought mine in US but will play in Aussie, hopefully I don't got sent to US server.
Overall gameplay it's defo a step up from 14.
Over the top balls and far post cross exploits seems to been nerfed.
Shooting is a bit tad more difficult on those 'angles' you usually expect to score in 14.
Keeper is rather a mess tho they fumble everything rather than catching or rather than at least punching it.
The web though is so goodThe day 0 patch improves the keepers. I love their handling, adds so much more unpredictability to the game.
I've just started my career as Pompey. Tough job on my hands there.Ah if their handling is improved then it's all good.
This will be my first year delving into FUT but so far I am already addicted just going through the web app. I am in Australia and ordered on the US PS store, it unlocks in 5hrs for me.
Awesome ... how did you do this, you order through the US PS site and then download this straight onto the PS?? Gives you a couple of days head start??
Created a US account, bought PSN cards off Amazon and redeemed them on my account. Yeah a couple of days earlier than locally and nearly half the price so it's win-win 🙂
For the long term, Chambers or Naylor?
Chambers or Naylor?
Bloody hell, 2 post fails.
