Our first members article of the week delves into the data of the nine matches played out so far. A number of forwards come under assessment this evening, with Liverpool, United and West Ham’s new frontmen all analysed, whilst we also take a look at City’s resurgent Bosnian, Chelsea’s midfield and Swansea’s worrying lack of impact in the final third.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Yo Grim. Not great tbh. My rank has been paying the price ever since selling Costa that week when he was 'injured'. Have brought him back in for Rooney this week though and have somehow managed a couple of green arrows without him so onwards and upwards.

          You?

Yeah that's annoying. The only reason I held on to him was because I made an early knee-jerk transfer and didn't want to take a hit.

Had a pretty good start but I've made some iffy decisions that have cost me a fair few points.

Just done Rooney > Dzeko. Hopefully the returns are better 2nd time around 🙂

      A. I think Tadic will outscore Di Maria over the next 4 GWs. Di Maria has been quite lucky with his return while Tadic has been quite unlucky if you look at the underlying stats, Aguero is a steady Eddy.

Last night I took a -8 hit on Rooney, Naismith, Ramsey > Aguero, Pelle, Jedniak while drunk.

Not sure how I should be feeling about this decision now.

Jedinak is on penalties, but you just screw a proper midfielder (that might be out just for a game) to raplace him with this guy & get -8 points for that. The strikers are better though, but I'm not sure Pelle is scoring against Tottenham unless they're hungover after Europa again. 🙂

Wouldn't have been able to get Aguero without dropping Ramsey though. Maybe he can make up the hit given his fixtures....

But yeah, these moves probably wouldn't have been made while sober. Oh well.

I wouldn't say Gerrard is on form. Just about pick and hope with him really. Downing isn't a decent fpl prospect imo. He's got a few but he is downing after all

You clearly haven't seen his stats for this season. West Ham are also playing some fantastic football and have the most shots on targets from set pieces (which downing takes the bulk of)

Yeah true. Maybe you have it right. Sturr will come good definitely. Gerrard is pretty frustrating to watch when you own him, but he's somehow always in the top mids. Ulloa is quite good and Downing is doing quite well. Not sure why I didn't like those combos at first glance.

Sakho hasn't moved an inch in ownership even after yesterday. Still 0.4% despite returns(5, 9, 6) in his last 3. I guess people are reluctant to do Rooney > Sakho.

Too many good forwards to choose from I guess! Costa is essential, Pelle is attractive and people probably want to drop Rooney for another premium cause extra money is scary =P

Baines. On penalties and his fixtures looks really promising after GW8. Expect Everton defence to tighten up. So far they also have conceded a lot of goals of chances due to personal errors, so their underlying stats are not that bad.

Yeah but the problem is we need to win that match so he can't afford not to play him. If he rested him and we lost people would blame him. I think the real problem is lack of cover for sturridge. Really wish the remy deal worked out. Balo is looking dangerous but needs to score to get confidence.

Yeah I think Sturridge and Balo together will do wonders for Balo. Don't think he has the confidence yet to play the lone striker and seems a little nervous. He has shown some wonderful ability and touches but is missing that confidence.

Last year Sturridge was rested for the 3-3 derby because of injury yet Hodgson still played him for 90 minutes twice in the next 7 days in meaningless friendlies "to test his resolve". Safe to say the owl will play him 90 minutes against San Marino regardless if the score is 13-0 by halftime

Urgh, been flat chat with work and my son's first birthday which was yesterday.

I always find it hard to post as much as I do pre season once the year gets underway.

        Hows tricks with your mob?

Normally I don't have trouble ignoring and skipping over dumb comments but the sheer frequency of people asking about price changes is slowly but surely driving me insane. Anyone else in this boat?

      11 years, 4 months ago

The problem is people keep asking even after being told countless times that no one knows the price rises this year and no site is accurate. Yet people seem to think the good folk here have a price change superpower!

In what way understandable though? As if someone has the information and is keeping it secret? No one knows.....this couldn't possibly have been more evident over the past month or so. NOBODY KNOWS for certain. End of.

People who ask this so much don't know the lack of info we or those sites have this season

I know it's irrational but people are looking for any grain of information.

Not saying you're not right but people tend to lose their minds making multiple difficult decisions on their WC 🙂

Last year you could just pop over to totalfpl and see who would rise/fall every day. No questions asked.

The big issue is that nobody seems to stop and read other posts in the thread (which ask EXACTLY the same thing) before blurting out their junk

      1. Walsh
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 4 months ago

I know I mean I'm used to that, like obviously this week will be full of nobs asking what do to with Ramsey and Rooney, which pair to transfer in, etc, roughly 3,000 times and I just filter that out no problem, but every single week of the same is x going to rise tonight is x going to fall tonight is just wearing me down... 🙁

Not really. Freaking out about being able to afford a player goes with the game even if no one knows the answers.

Just to add..This site is a good place to be after 11pm GMT. Good advice and questions answered.

And when someone asks what is happening with price changes and helpfully try to answer someone else comes on and tells me it's been said a million times before... Of course, but only because people keep asking...
