Saido Berahino bags a brace as West Brom thrash Burnley 4-0 at The Hawthorns. Graham Dorrans serves up a goal and two assists as Sean Dyche’s side concede for the first time in four league matches, while The Clarets’ woes in front of goal show little sign of improvement.

Berahino the Budget Option
Yesterday’s brace brought Saido Berahino’s tally for the season to four goals, and rocketed the England Under-21 striker up to fourth in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) forwards standings. Despite this, and his meagre 5.5 price tag, Berahino still has under 5% ownership, making him a standout differential and a budget alternative to the likes of Leonardo Ulloa and Diafra Sakho. The injury struggles of team-mate Brown Ideye only increase Berahino’s potential, with the former now facing a tough task to reclaim the lone striker role for the Baggies, though upcoming fixtures against Liverpool and Man United should ensure that yesterday’s two-goal hero will have his work cut out in replicating his display in the next couple of Gameweeks at least.

Irvine’s Midfielders Finding Form
Whilst Chris Brunt earned an assist for the second match running in yesterday’s 4-0 drubbing, it was Graham Dorrans who stole the show by providing assists for both Berahino’s strikes before notching late on himself. Though these were the Scot’s first attacking points of the season, they have come at a time when the Baggies’ form is blossoming – it’s three straight wins in all competitions now for Alan Irvine’s men, and should they be able to maintain that form, the likes of Brunt, Dorrans and James Morrison could offer Fantasy managers plenty more returns over the upcoming weeks.

Baggies Backline Delivers Again
The presence of Joleon Lescott is clearly making the difference in the Baggies’ backline, with back-to-back clean sheets now accrued since the former Man City man made his debut. Owners of the 4.1-priced Andre Wisdom will also be happy with more returns from yesterday’s match, though they should be aware that the Liverpool loanee is ineligible to feature against his parent club next weekend. This will, however, hand Cristian Gamboa the chance to impress again after the Costa Rican earned an assist off the bench against Burnley. Four of West Brom’s next six home matches (CPL, NEW, WHM, AVL) look good shouts for further clean sheets, meaning that investment in one of FPL’s least popular rearguards now appears to be a canny move, with Wisdom, Lescott and Craig Dawson all offering their services for sub-5.0 price tags.

Burnley Continue to Toil
The Clarets’ run of three clean sheets came to an end yesterday, but Sean Dyche’s men still failed to offer a response at the opposite end of the pitch. Burnley have failed to score in five matches now and have netted just once this season as forward Lukas Jutkiewicz continues to toil in the absence of Danny Ings and Sam Vokes. Burnley now face Leicester, West Ham and Hull in next their five – fixtures which could still bring defensive returns, though, as we saw evidenced yesterday, their potential will continue to be diminished if they can’t break down opposition defences and end up leaving themselves open when chasing matches.

      I'm thinking of having both Ivan and Baines. This week should be fine even if Everton don't keep a clean sheet the attacking potential of Baines should provide points. Save a transfer imo.

      I really like it, a bit different.

      You will have some benching issues with 4 quality defenders but not like you going to get much for downgrading chambers anyway.

      Shows what can be done with welbeck over aguero

    Just feels wrong bringing in Tadic for a hit, when it's going to be a tight game at Spurs. Might just bench Ramsey if he's going to be back after the break.

    A) Clyne
    B) Dummett
    C) Caulker
    D) Tadic - 4

      Was just thinking the same, except my bench is a lot worse (Albrighton, Wisdom, Hutton)

      In your case I'd avoid the hit and start Clyne/Caulker

      I think I have to take the hit however.

    Koeman talking about his full-backs:

    "He (Bertrand) has adapted to our way of playing extremely quickly and to the ambition of the club. Clyne scored on Tuesday, Ryan has scored too and that's important for the team. We can't just rely on the attackers for goals, we need more from across the pitch."

        "Player Stats" are brilliant, and can spot trends a lot better than fantasy points. I use them to make my own tables under "My Stats Tables". This one for example:

        http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/public-stats-tables/view/6410/

        Chances created, goal attempts, penalty box touches and shots inside the box for forwards. Quite helpful.

      He's been at fault for a lot of goals. His early goal scoring heroics were saving him.

    Not a great gameweek. Still a similar rank but unfortunately have the problem of owning both Rooney and Ramsey. I have two free transfers and 1.3M in the bank which is a bonus so i can get both out fo free however, as many have found out replaces are hard to find. Here what im thinking

    Falcao/Pelle and silva: both nailed on with narsi and rooney being out. Citys fixtures are improving and with the uncertainty up front at City i believe silva is a great alternative. Falcao has yet to really get firing but with di maria and mata to supply him with plenty of chances in an attack minded united team i expect this to change. The only is is they play City, Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea in the next six. This is where pelle has the advantage. He is on form and has great fixtures. However i already have clyne and do i really want two southampton players.

    Tadic/chadli and Aguero: Aguero when on form is a points machine. And a great captain choice and a differential with just 10% ownership. He does have 30 points which is the fifth highest but he is injury prone and gets taken off in most games. City also have an awful schedule. Tadic looks like a good propect and is playing in an on form southampton side. Again do i want more than one southampton player, im tempted with form and fixures. Chadli is the alternative. He has four goals and good fixtures and gives me spurs coverage. However i would fear he could be rotated and again gets taken off alot.

    Atm i leaning towards pelle and silva, what do you all think?

        Uniteds fixtures turn now so i would go one of the other two. I already have sterling, and with sturridge back i say his returns will improve

      For those who already have Tadic I think downing is the best short-term Ramsey replacement

      Schneiderlin+Aguero for me good coverage for both then Aguero plays well when in form against any team Schneiderlin always looks to score.

    Fully excited about this weekend!

    Ulloa armband and then take myself out for a long drive to avoid the pain of a potential Costa hat trick!

    Any suggestions of where I can drive to from Edinburgh?

      your a brave man with arsenals defensive record against big teams away. Although at some point costa needs to be rested but unlikely against arsenal. IF it pays off it could be a big green arrow but could go the other way. I hope it goes well for you. No advice where to drive to unfortunately

    What should I do with this team for this GW:

    Mannone Heaton

    Clyne Hutton Moore Duff Wisdom

    ADM Sterling Ramsey Fab Cork

    Costa Kun Ulloa

    Should I:

    A. Ramsey + Duff/More => Ivan + 6.0 midfielder (will have to take a hit)
    B. Ramsey => Silva/Tadic/Ozil

    Thanks!

    Shipping Ramsey for Tadic this week but for a -4 (£11.9 to play with)
    A - Rooney -> Ballotelli
    B - Rooney -> Strurridge
    C - Rooney -> Wellbeck
    D - other

    Looks like Rooney will drop tonight so no wait and see option for me. Playing three up front this week so thinking Sturridge is a bit of a risk if he doesn't get a run out. Wellbeck away to to Chelsea isn't overly promising but long term good fixtures. Ballotelli would be a bit of a differential in my league. Thoughts??

    Krul/Begovic
    van Aanholt/Bardsley/Taylor/Wisdom/Cahill
    Sigurdsson/Di María/Sterling/Tadic/Barry
    Rooney/Diego Costa/Ulloa

    Azpil - Taylor - Pieters
    Downing - Cesc - ADM - Siggy - Sterling
    Costa - Ulloa

    I am well excited for GW7
