Our Suspension Tightrope only kicked back into action last week but we’ve already seen a couple of players topple off after Gameweek 7 came to an end. Both Calum Chambers and Jonjo Shelvey went into the weekend with four yellows accrued and the pair were culpable yet again, earning their fifth domestic cautions to automatically trigger a one-match ban.

In an ill-tempered affair at Stamford Bridge, Chambers was a little fortunate not to receive his marching orders after Martin Atkinson chose not to dish out a second yellow for a foul on Andre Schurrle. Indeed, although the whistler booked seven players in the 2-0 win, the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Gary Cahill and Danny Welbeck were also shown a little leniency, and received a caution when a dismissal could just as easily have been the outcome. Welbeck owners will particularly be relieved after his wild lunge on Cesc Fabregas was only deemed worthy of a yellow.

Chambers – who has now been booked six times in just eight appearances for the Gunners – misses the Gameweek 8 home encounter against Hull but will return in time for the following week’s trip to Sunderland.

Shelvey will skip the Swans’ trip to Stoke next time around before coming back into contention for the Gameweek 9 home clash against Leicester. Team-mate Angel Rangel is available now, though, after serving his own one-match suspension against Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

The duo join Wayne Rooney on the sidelines, then, as the United skipper serves the second of a three-match suspension away to West Brom. Rooney also misses a home match with Chelsea before being available in time for the Gameweek 10 Manchester derby at the Etihad.

Back to the Tightrope and Chambers’ team-mate Jack Wilshere is now the only player currently sitting with four cautions to his name. Just below him, though, are band of 10 players which include a trio of big-hitting Fantasy prospects, in the form of Diego Costa, Yaya Toure and Graziano Pelle.

    I have never understood using a transfer on a GK. I think for me the exceptions are

    1. You have 2FTs and no other pressing concerns. You dont want to waste a FT so you welcome an in form keeper to the team. Get in there son.

    2. Your keeper is not playing - be it through injury or the good old CHOP. you get rid of him. (like last year after Ben Foster injured his foot after a few CS).

    Other than that i just do not get it. I mean, GKs are the players who are most immune to price changes (rises & falls), most immune to rotation, and the only way they get points is CS [which are not very easy to predict and can be wiped off the board in the 89th minuted when you concede while when someone scores or assists a goal that goal generally stays scored or assisted] or save points [which is you actively rooting for your keeper to get bombarded with shots that might wipe out a CS you are hoping for in the first place]

    Long story short, do not transfer out Krul because

    1. He will get a CS against Leicester and

    2. You are seriously hurting my team value as i do have Krul.

    so yeah DO NOT DARE DO IT. 🙂

        I will return with my confirmation bias. When he gets his CS i shall utter the words "I told you so" and if by some miracle he does not I'll say "whatever. you really thought Newcastle were capable of keeping a CS".. In both cases I win

      Hey guys, so I have a FT that's about to go to waste if I don't do any transfers this week so I thought I might as well ship Fabianski as their fixtures are about to get really tough. Problem is that there doesn't seem to be that many good replacements for 5.0 or under. Only one that really stands out in that range is Forster, but I already have three soton with (imo) more potential for points (Clyne, Bertrand, Pelle).
      I was thinking maybe Adrian, as WHU has decent form and not that tough schedule (bur, MCI, stk, AVL, eve, NEW, wba). It's not perfect though.. maybe I should wait two GWs as Swansea have (stk, LEI, eve, ARS, mci), but then again I might have some other transfers I want to do then.
      Ideally I'd like Lloris, but can't find that extra 0,6 without making two other transfers or downgrading a front 7..

      So basically: what is in your opinion the best GK for 5,0 or under at this very moment, if you could choose without thinking of hits and what not?

          Can't see many CS's for Mannone with that fixture list, Speroni looks OK, but of those I still think I prefer Adrian.

      Let me try this in DZ

      This is my back 5
      Ivan / Moore / Wisdom / PVA // Chambers(sus)
      Only one I feel comfortable playing next week is Ivanovic

      Question: What would you do with these back 5 and 2 FTs with 0 in the bank.

      A) PVA & Chambers (9.0)-> Alderweireld & Dummett (5.0 + 4.0)
      B) PVA & Chambers (9.0)-> Wilson & another 4.5 defender (4.5 + 4.5)
      C) PVA & Chambers (9.0)-> Muniesa & Naylor (4.4 + 4.6)
      D) PVA -> ???, save one FT and play one out of Wisdom/Moore

      Thank you very much.

              But with two FTs and rest of the team sorted, I can spend one FT on defender. PVA has hard fixtures this and next week and he's 4.5 so I can get decent replacement with better fixture.

          Well I tried but the kiosk was closed at this point. The slip says there are multiple collection options including collect at stadium, postal, transfer through website or get payed into a sky bet account whilst also receiving a free £10 bet! So I decided it wud be safest to go with sky bet, entered my bet slip number and even received a conformation email detailing the amount and everything. But yet nothing was payed, I rang the helpline at sky bet and they've never heard of my bet apparently and asked me to contact the operator, for which I have no details. So have spent 3 phone calls on an 0800 number costing me god knows how much, sent 2 emails and all I've received is a questionnaire on how they dealt with my phone call! It's really annoying and will stick to William hills in future!

      RMT please:

      Forster (McCarthy)
      Moreno - Clyne - Duff (Wisdom-Moore)
      Siggy - Fab - Sterling - Sneiderlin (Boyd)
      Falcao - Aguero - Costa

      2 FTs, 0.3 ITB

      I kind of wish that I hadn't loaded up on the front 3 as it really limits my options elsewhere. I am considering falcao/sneiderlin/ to welbeck-tadic but feel like I want to give Falcao another gameweek to see how he does...

      Happy Holidays!!

      Forster (£4.0)
      MORENO - Ivan - Clyne (Wilson,Moore)
      Fabregas -ADM - Sterling - Siggy (Boyd)
      Costa - Welbeck - Pelle

      2FT & £2.1 in a hedge fund....
      Only transfer I'm really considering is Moreno>Baines.
      a) Yes, do it godammit!

      I read above someone saying not to place bets in the sdadium before games, NONSENSE
      Do place bets in the stadium before games, especially if the bookie closes before the game ends and you fly out of the country that evening.
      That way you get to flyback to the country the game was on in a few weeks later to collect your winnings and spend it sensibly on Spanish/Asian hooks.

      little explanation please. lets say Rooney is back now. In your opinion will Welbeck still be a better option than Rooney because of the way Rooneys plays now behind RVP and Falcao or get Rooney again in my team ?
