Saturday’s modest points returns pile expectations on to Sunday’s trio of encounters, as an assortment of prime Fantasy assets take to the turf.

It all begins with a pair of lunchtime kick-offs, as Spurs entertain Newcastle at the Lane and Burnley host Everton up at Turf Moor. Fantasy managers will be looking to the likes of Leighton Baines, Nacer Chadli and Christian Eriksen to provide some early cheer, before attentions turn to the main event at Old Trafford at 4pm.

United and Chelsea meet head-on in one of the season’s key clashes. It arrives in time to find Jose Mourinho’s Blues flying high on top of the table, while Louis van Gaal’s United struggle to break out of a state of flux.

The script points to a comfortable away win, with Fantasy managers eagerly awaiting the visitors’ team sheet and the potential “revelation” that Diego Costa defies the claims of his manager to spearhead the Chelsea attack. We’re in for a fascinating afternoon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Feeling pretty good about my prediction; 0-0 or 0-1 boring/controlled Mourinho performance and ADM/United crumbling against the better teams.

Neutral hee. Looking good so far. ManU will chase the game these last 15 min and may get a home bounce here or there. Or maybe a home call. Chelsea will have to defend a couple more chances i believe

Biased in the sense that i despise both teams/clubs. But i know football and i`ve seen a couple of these Mourinho games before. Tbh United have looked unlikely to score pretty much all game imo, a few half decent attempts in the first half, but not much in the second half. Mourinho didnt even have to neutralize ADM, LVG managed that all on his own.

ADM is very inconsistent, he isn't the smartest player, you'd see a lot in his Real days where he'd make the wrong plays or run into blind alleys a lot.

Yup. Exellent individual skill, not the best football mind. I dont wanna write him off against the better teams just yet, but hes been very poor today.

Oh of course, immensely talented, but he lacks the football brain that would make him truly world class. As I say inconsistent, he'll be hit or miss against better teams and stubborn defenses.

I agree with this, but be careful about all the fanboys. We could get lynched to even saying this. Then again, my standard of world class is far higher than the average supporter.

Indeed, consistency is key to being in that bracket, ADM is too often inconsistent, and when he plays well its down to being a flat track bully.

do you think the injury may have something to do with it? He is not looking like himself. No pace. Haven't seen him sprint once. It also could be the bigger more physical Ivanovic has neutralized him and maybe even scared him a bit. Opinion?

          1. Licky
            • 13 Years
            11 years, 1 month ago

Don't know about pace, but that might be down to injury, he looks off the pace, not involved and doing nothing when he is.

Could be that hes not 100% fit, ofcourse. But i still think hes just somewhat easy to neutralize, and Mourinho is the best in the game at doing so.

That team would get cut through. Cesc isn't cut out for defensive duties, thats why he needs Matic alongside him. If you make Ramsey the defensive player you lose his main benefit, the surging forward runs.
