The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Cazorla + Lallana -> Tadic + Hazard (-4) Yay or Nay? Leaves me 0.2 to do Sterling -> Walcott once the latter is fit.

Why would i want to transfer him out? He has been playing extremely well so far. I can see SOU score vs MCI, ARS,MUN, EVE, CHE at least once.

I don't understand these Pardew comments. Newcastle fans wanted him sacked, and for good reason. Their results have been woeful for a long time. The only way for Pardew to get the fans back onside is to win football matches, and he's starting to do that. They deserve to see their team win a game like this, celebrate while you can, I say.

well said. new has a very talented team. question of someone there making that team roll. cisse, sisoko obertan, cabella, janmaat, ameobi, riviere, these are all potential good players.

If you truly feel your manager needs to go, I think it's fair enough to make your feelings on the matter clear. It's not that they haven't been cheering their team, they are just opposed to the way it is being run.

And they were aiming the PardewOut campaign at Ashley. Any other chairman would have sacked Pardew ages ago.

it felt more like a character assassination on pards to me. pards got them a 5th in the table finish not long ago. can't sack a man after that

I do think they treated him badly, and I felt sorry for Pardew throughout. But with constantly poor results and episodes like the headbutt etc I can see why the fans turned against him.

Pellegrini is the biggest spoofer going, few cups
and leagues in South America and he is in charge of
this city team, yes he has won the league but is that good
enough with half a billions worth of talent? I think he is a slightly
above average at best. A real top class manager would
have way more achievements at city by now

City have been so poor you get the feeling they thought they just had to turn up to win tonight. They have been second best all night and are lucky they didn't get beat more.
