yeah..I think he's bound to get a red card sooner or later the way he plays but for now this is just some good rest in what might be a contested London match

But I also think Costa --> Rooney looks okay too.may as well keep Costa unless you don't plan to bring him back

points on the bench IS NOT AN ARGUMENT AGAINST INVESTMENT IN POINT-SCORING SQUAD MEMBERS. on previous page, 3 out of seven responses to a mooted jedinak acquisition were decrying the missed points lost to the bench as if that were in some way detrimental to your overall score. does a high bench score mean your selected eleven wud score fewer points? it would if the most expensive players always get the most points but hey, they don't. this is the time of year when u tend to need a strong bench due to the squad rotation caused by the packed schedule. this is not shane ferguson's world
The point is that the extra money could be invested into players who you will play.
You don't know when you may have to call upon them though...especially over the busy festive period.
I get that, yeah - I've been stung myself the last couple of weeks by having the likes of Moore rotting on my bench.
It's just that personally I think that, over the course of a season, I'll gain more from having the money on the pitch rather than the bench (not denying that this isn't the case every week though)Fair enough, we have different styles. I'd never buy a non-playing keeper but many swear by it, and think rotation the very devil. 🙂

i see your point and agree that for the season, rotating cheaper options is a risky venture and that maybe one strong/one weak might make more sense in that the expensive players do find themselves near the top of the charts more often than not. i mean more this time of year, when your premium options find themselves rested without warning. carrying christmas passengers can be a liability
You may be right - especially this time of year, as you say.
It's one of those things where it's impossible to prove definitively which is the better approach, different players find that they prefer different strategies.
Bench points don't trouble me. At least you own these guys, even if you didn't get to play them. Their value will increase and you have dependable reserves should you need them.

haven't watched all that much West Ham this season, is Cresswell really worth it? expensive for a West Ham defender but they do have good fixtures for a little while longer..whereas if I bring in Terry this week it's to play vs Spurs right off th ebat
He absolutely flies down the wing and gets a good cross in, I wouldn't expect him to score again soon though
After todays ManU win, do you consider Fellaini or Herrera to be valid mid-price midfield choices? What about Smalling in defence?
I have a feeling Fellaini's got a decent haul on the horizon . . . I keep looking at him, but I already have Siggy and Downing in that sort of price bracket.
