Newcastle have worries in defence as they head to Burnley. Arsenal have concerns at left-back for the home clash against Southampton, who are set to be without Morgan Schneiderlin. Enner Valencia returns as the Hammers head to the Hawthorns, Yun Suk-Young could be poised to recover for QPR, whilst Stoke have a midfield headache ahead of their visit to Old Trafford.

Wojciech Szczesny remains sidelined for Arsenal’s home clash with Southampton. Arsene Wenger has also confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal are all doubts, though hopes to have one of the latter two available to feature at left-back.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been ruled out of the Emirates clash and is set for adductor scans. Jack Cork is back for Ronald Koeman’s side, though, after recovering from a weekend illness.

Mark Noble is a doubt for the Hammers’ trip to West Brom later this evening after suffering a recurrence of a calf complaint during the weekend win over Newcastle. Enner Valencia is back in the squad after missing the last two matches though injury, though fellow forward Diafra Sakho is still unavailable. Winston Reid returns after serving a one-match suspension.

Gary Monk has confirmed that Swansea have no new injury worries ahead of the home clash against QPR. Nathan Dyer is set to return to the squad after missing out at the weekend.

Steve Sidwell (knee) could be out for up to six weeks for the Potters, whilst Glenn Whelan is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a calf complaint. Phil Bardsley is back in training after recovering from the illness that forced him to miss the weekend trip to Liverpool.

Newcastle are facing a mounting injury crisis in defence for the trip to Burnley. Alan Pardew is already without Tim Krul and Fabricio Coloccini and is now sweating over the fitness of Mike Williamson, Massadio Haidara and Daryl Janmaat. With Moussa Sissoko and Jack Colback serving one-match suspensions, the Magpie manager has revealed he has included three youth team players in his matchday squad.

Sebastien Pocognoli is a doubt for West Brom after sustaining a dead leg at the weekend. James Morrison is back in training and will be assessed for the visit of West Ham.

Leicester’s David Nugent is set to be assessed after picking up an ankle problem at the weekend. The Foxes boss Nigel Pearson has also confirmed that Dean Hammond is back in training but tonight’s match is set to come too soon.

Harry Redknapp remains optimistic that Yun Suk-Young will recover from the knee knock that forced him off in the weekend win over Leicester. Bobby Zamora could also be in contention – he requires a late fitness test after missing out on Saturday with a back problem.

Mamadou Sakho is back in training for Liverpool but this evening’s trip to Leicester will come too soon. Mario Balotelli is sidelined once again with a groin injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Aguero top of the captain poll?

After Sunderlands performance at the weekend, and the record Sunderland have against Man City, I'm not too confident putting the armband on him...

I haven't decided between him and Rooney, but it's Aguero. I don't think records, or Sunderland's last performance, necessarily show anything - he's one of the best players in the world.

You defended in numbers, and did it well, but they made it easy for you I think. No intensity in their passing, slow on the ball, and Azpi and Ivanovic offered no width, Costa was extremely poor.

If you do the same, I can see Zabaleta and Clichy getting in behind a lot, and Yaya really pulling the strings.

Your afraid to put the armband on the best striker in the league who scored a hattrick against bayern snd 2 assists against best league defence in last 2 matches. Think again 🙂

    Play ONE out of these:

    A) Clyne (ars) - Arsenal struggling with injuries at LB, good for Clyne?
    B) Dummet (bur) - The best fixture, but Newcastle struggling with injuries in defense also?
    C) Wisdom (WHM) - The best choice maybe, but I have Downing..

    Thanks!

        That's the dilemma - but I'm thinking
        - he's only scored one in a few easy home games,
        - Bony also got easy games coming up
        - Hazard will cover him (almost), and outscore Downing

People should treat the use of a free transfer as if they are taking a hit. Each free transfer is essentially worth 4pts and I think there is too much talk of using them flippantly. The concept of a one week punt is a ludicrous waste. It will cost you 2FT's (to buy then sell) and whatever you would have gotten from your first sub. A one week punt would need at least 10 points to even come close to representing good value.

This is true. This is why Costa out for Bony this week appears a worthwhile transfer to me.

dont think costa to rooney will be a punt. can easily see myself keeping rooney until jan. great form and fixtures and costa is not as devastating as he could be. no assists, no bps.

If you intend to keep Rooney then thats not a 1 week punt so its fine. If you intend to keep then its just a normal transfer which is well used.

Madness to (c) Baines over Rooney ❓

Dont think so. Hull were spectalacurly awful v Man Utd, so the CS chances are great. And of course, he always has a goal/assist potential. Currently my 2nd choice, ahead of both Siggy and Rooney

      Very good option.

    Wild card team:

    Elliot

    Wisdom Dummett Baines

    Alexis (vc) Hazard Yaya Siggy

    Aguero (c) Austin Bony

    Bench: Panti Boyd Hutton Wasilewski

    Good to go?

Would advise you against Yaya. Not worth the price tag. Would rather have Eriksen there.

I have a feeling when all is said and done, everybody will be moaning and saying 'why didn't I captain Aguero? It was so obvious'

To me, he is the only one that can fit into this category so Im sticking with him

Any risk in getting clichy? Time to transfer out bertrand or just leave him on my bench for several weeks.

Clichy's recent stats are better, but is he at a high risk of rotation?
