We’re almost there. After three months, countless RMT’s (That’s Rate-My-Team for our new readers), a whole host of injury scares and the regular gamut of transfer talk, the season is now just hours away.

This means just one thing- it’s time for a host of the Fantasy Football Scout team to start off one last debate by sticking our necks on the line with predictions for the year to come. As evidenced by last year, our choices can range from the sublime to the ridiculous – let’s see how the cards fall for 2011/12…

I, Andy, kick things off by singling out teams and players I am not perhaps known for endorsing. Towing the party line, then, I’ve done everything I can to make my predictions as impartial as possible. Not believe me? Look- no Fernando Torres…

So there we have it, that’s how the Scouts see it; no need for any of this fantasy lark as we’re clearly going to be 100% correct. Remember this post at season’s end for all the good choices and forget it for those that end up down the garden path. Who are your choice picks for the 2011/12 season?

I have Holt and Hoolahan, should I get rid of one, if so who for, and why? Ideally I don't want to get rid of Holt (Or either for that matter, but doubling up on Norwich is poor form). So who to replace Hoolahan with, I already have Sinclair and Moses. Could stretch the budget to 6m if need be.

Don't like the prospect of having to play Norwich and Blackburn defenders often as I expect these to have the leakiest defences in the league. Newcastle didn't have a great defence last season and it looks to have been weakened this season too. I wouldn't know who you could downgrade in attack or midfield though. :S

Perhaps you could get a Sunderland/Stoke defender to rotate with Simpson instead of Salgado?

    Rooney - RVP - Holt

to many big hitters? Rooney,RVP & Lampard are all £12mil but then again when fit they will always plat all 3 are on pen's and all are good captain options, Holt & Taarabt also on Spotkicks and Moses/Silva are in cuz of there fixtures. Bardsley will become Enrique when he start playing

I wrote on the last post about the comments section and how the number of posts would dilute the usefulness of this site. Apparently that comment died a quick death when a new article arrived.

The main question was about Matthew Upson's move to Stoke. I know it's not an immediate issue but just wanted to know whether there was anyone with a view regarding his situation and starting potential. After their games ease up, he may be a bargain defender at 4.5m.

usually i dnt like the rmts and they annoy me, but would like to listen to some ideas since this season im away from home and my usual buddys:
    giben (ruddy)
komapny orr terry (collins s taylor)
    moses silva dunn taarabt (tchoyi)
    ba caroll (c) drogs

had baines and skrtel in my previous team but fixtures and injuries made me downgrade by leaving some cash for the rainy day (3.5 in the bank)

Hell no! Enrique just transferred. At best, he will get a debut. But I would be surprised to see him in the substitutions list. Don't get me wrong he was bought to be a starter but you don't put him in the starting XI a few days after you buy him... Aurelio and Kelly are likely to play for GW1. Either way I still have Enrique on my team. I would play someone else just to be safe.
