As managers start to utilise the depth of their first-team squads and introduce fresh legs into starting line-ups, the number of injuries was kept fairly minimal over the weekend. Unfortunately for City and Fantasy managers alike, a certain Argentine’s knee problems casts a shadow over plans for the festive period.

Aston Villa
Paul Lambert is sweating over the fitness of midfielder Ashley Westwood, who was stretchered off with a knee injury in yesterday’s win over Leicester. The Villa boss also has concerns over Tom Cleverley, who was replaced midway through the second half with a foot problem.

Leicester
Ritchie De Laet missed the trip to Villa Park due to illness, allowing Danny Simpson his first start at right-back for the Foxes. Top scorer Leonardo Ulloa notched his first goal since Gameweek 5 yesterday but was forced off at the break during the 2-1 loss at Villa due to a calf problem. After the match, Nigel Pearson explained his decision to withdraw the Argentine:

“In the challenge prior to half time he got a heavy knock with a follow-through and he didn’t fully recover from that, so we felt it was still important to still have the work rate out there with Nugent coming on for him.”

Man City
As Fantasy managers know only too well, Sergio Aguero was forced off early against Everton on Saturday evening due to a knee injury. Whilst Manuel Pellegrini has yet to make a statement since Saturday’s post-match briefing, unconfirmed reports last night suggest Aguero could miss the next month – or at least five Gameweeks, to you and me.

Initial reports suggested Fernandinho missed out through injury but further updates indicate the midfielder was simply rested from the squad to face Everton.

Newcastle
Rob Elliott has been ruled out until January with a thigh injury sustained in the weekend win over Chelsea. With first-choice stopper Tim Krul also sidelined, Jak Alnwick is poised for a stint between the sticks. Alan Pardew – who is without the suspended Steven Taylor – has also revealed skipper Fabricio Coloccini is, once again, an early injury doubt. Mehdi Abeid missed out with a recurrence of a toe problem against the Blues.

Stoke
Marc Wilson and Marko Arnautovic missed the Potters’ 3-2 home win over Arsenal with hamstring and groin problems respectively. Marc Muniesa was forced off after sustaining a hamstring injury, with post-match reports suggesting he could be sidelined for 10 days.

West Brom
Georgios Samaras missed the Baggies trip to Hull on Saturday due to illness, the club’s official Twitter feed has confirmed. After the match, Alan Irvine explained the reasons behind a couple of second-half withdrawals:

“I wanted to be as positive as possible with my changes but at half-time we had Stephane Sessegnon struggling with a tight calf and Victor Anichebe still troubled by his groin problem.”

West Ham
Carl Jenkinson is an early weekend worry for the Hammers. After serving up his second assist of the season, the right-back was forced off with a hamstring injury during the 3-1 win over Swansea.

Squawka reporting this as the Arsenal XI for the game vs Galatasaray tomorrow.

Arsenal XI v Galatasaray tomorrow: Szczesny; Debuchy, Mertesacker, Chambers, Bellerin; Ox, Flamini, Ramsey; Campbell, Sanogo, Podolski. #AFC

Obviously can't know how accurate this is but they just tweeted it.

I don't think it will be released before such an important game. Can only assume Wenger has confirmed it because the game is pretty pointless.

    ***, Costa

    A) TADIC
    ROONEY

    B) DOWNING

    Gilks
    Clyne - Az - Baines - Bertrand
    Downing - Bentaleb - Siggy - Sánchez
    Aguero - Bony

Bench: Fabianski, Moore, Fàbregas and Austin.

I play without GK and Bentaleb seems to be nailed on, I will buy a Aguero replacement, of course.

    Good enough??

I won't make any transfer till Friday but I have got Aguero (bought him at 12.2m), Fab(bought him at 9m), Chambers (bought him at 4.5). So how much I will loose due to price drop ?

You'll lose 0.1 on Cesc tonight and Aguero's drop tonight will not affect you, the next one after that will affect you by 0.1 though.

After much deliberation, I am leaning towards Dzeko. Man City's schedule is too easy and he is a great price for a forward who will get the lion's share of the minutes. Yaya too expensive and has the 4 YCs. I'll wait to see how Dzeko does against Roma. If he plays 60+ minutes and looks dangerous, I am doing the following:

    Kun > Dzeko
    Duff > Cresswell or Clichy

Already moved Fab > Haz and Chambers > Yun with my 2 FTs. Then, when David Silva is back and getting real minutes, will consider moving Siggy > Silva.

If Dzeko is lame for champs league, then I will get Bony or Sakho, and consider Siggy > Yaya or Silva. I am not crazy about having Bony and Siggy as I do not think Swansea scores enough. I also am leery of Rooney as similar production can seemingly be found for a lot less $. If Rooney shows otherwise by being dominant against the Saints tonight, I will reconsider everything and recognize I have no clue and flip coins.

Aguero's injury opens the FPL wide as the template will now vary to a much wider degree.

Agree with all of that! Very smart
I'm considering Yaya more so though. Yes could get yellow but also a sweet load of points, pens, free kicks etc. he's moving around much more

    Costa AUSTIN AGUERO

What do I do? Top of ML,, top 6000. 1 F/T..Caps ones likely not to play. Most rivals have Baines, Bony for info..

Thinking Ag and Chambers out but for who.. Happy to lose Fab as will not lose value.

    RP

I normally wc in GW23 as I save a FT the week before and take a 1 GW punt or 2 before wc as there's usually a midweek GW for line-ups

    But given

    a) The huge gap between GWs 22 and 23
    b) The lack of a ,midweek GW22

Is it really worth waiting till the last possible GW? The only logical reason I can see is to get free choice at any deadline day signings

That gap in between GWs could be nice for making a bit of extra cash

Demi a rotation risk though , would go Naylor

Not convinced with Kane , so doing the above gives you Bony

    ________REPOST__________
So my team is completely destroyed.... PLEASE someone help me....

    Foster - Krul
    S Taylor - Chambers - Duff - Azpilicueta - Clichy
    Chadli - Hazard - Dyer - Sanchez - Hoilett
    Costa - Aguero - Austin
    1 FT. And £1m ITB.

Krul, S Taylor, Chambers, Austin, Aguero, Duff all out for this GW (at least)
Hoilett, Chadli, Dyer are playing from the bench.
    That's 8 of my 15 players who aren't starting.....

I was thinking Aguero -> Bony/Carroll/Benteke and Hoilett -> to a big MF

I'm waiting to see what the United strikers do, but it's gonna need to be very impressive to change my mind.

Le Saux Solid Crew's team above really merits your attention and help.

When the game updated on Saturday afternoon, I wanted to change my team for the next GW. I put my (c) on Kun and (vc) on Austin. LOL @ me 😆

Fabregas to who? Have Hazard, Siggy and Downing.
    Sanchez the wisest?

Sanchez or Toure but I think Sanchez is more capable of scoring so him

My preferred option is Dzeko, too much of a risk to do tonight? Really don't wanna lost out on the .1...

Neil Taylor still worth a transfer in?

Can't see many other options to replace Chambers (4.9 max).
Hutton seems a popular pick, but I'm reluctant to double up with Guzan.

    Guys, a bit offtopic..
but my Google Chrome doesn't work anymore and I'm sick of this Mozilla.
Just won't open pages. Everytime I try to go on a website Chrome doesn't load.
