FPL Issue Apology

Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

    annoying, my main rival has a terrible team 4 out of 5 defenders wont play now he gets a free wildcard

      I like that. You can fit in a decent budget / consistent midfield around the 6.5 - 5m range

    I was thinking that I may keep Carroll and Drogba.

    If prices aren't frozen I will sell them now, and potentially buy them back at a 0.1 lower price by the end of the week.

      Selling a player at a .1 increase is useless because you wont see the increase until he goes up .2. The only benifit to buying a player before his price rises is if you actually plan on playing him or holding on to him longterm until he goes up by .2

    God the FPL has lost so much credibility this year and some of the fun has definately been taken out of the game. Suppose we need to remember it is just a game (doing best job to convince self)

      Is there any point in getting those players unless you're thinking of keeping them? You wont make any profit on them unless they rise by .2 and I don't think that will happen.

        I think once people get wind of this, there will be arseloads of price rises and may well be some double risers.

        Assuming price rises continue as normal of course.

        It may take 20-25k transfers for 1 rise, then 40-50k more for tise 2. So out of 2 million ish wildcards a .2 rise is a walk in the park.

    Thing is a think most people got over the frustration on fri/sat and were just getting on with it. Only an isolated minority that hadn't created their team at all that really suffered

    Well until we know if prices are to change or not I guess its wise to transfer in Suarez and Cahill tonight and try and make a profit as they will double rise before the deadline if they go up tonight. If the prices are indeed frozen then can change back as and when before the deadline.

      Makes sense. Even though I know it's official still not liking fact it still shows that points will be deducted when make more than one transfer. They're surely not daft enough to screw people over twice though!

    Im not surprised at all by this. Some people were (rightly) irate at the technical f ups on the site.

    I can only imagine what was written in some of the emails they recieved.

    Oh well lets all move on and make the best of the situation for yourself.

    Well. That was the first time I emailed fpl. I asked for free transfers like everyone else. It worked, well done all. That brings a smile to my face after the horrendous day of seeing Cesc in another shirt. Almost like seeing a cheating girlfriend!

        If they started the whole game from scratch i would agree. We stil have our points from this gameweek. Prices rises i think will stay and ffs will benefit! Good move all round.

      It's annoying because it needs to be a mutual thing. Some people who lucked out on the first GW will be like "no, there's no need to restart" whilst those who had a crap GW will be pleading for them to restart.

    If anyone from Citeh scores big tonight I will be fuming. If there wasn't a WC for everyone now and they scored big I would have taken it on the chin and just gotten on with it. But of course I would have had Citeh coverage if I knew I could change my entire team staright after tonight. This is not sitting well.
