Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

I think the unlimited transfers and resetting leagues from GW2 is a horrible idea. In part, that's becuase I anticipated that Friday night/Saturday morning would be a clusterf*** and nailed down my team early Friday. I guess I don't understand why other managers couldn't do the same. I can see 1 additional "free" transfer - but unlimited ? That's crazy.

  yeah but a deadline is a deadline so lots of people (including me) were genuinely due to submit their final team on friday evening when more info was available on injuries/squad outlines. I see this as perfectly fair

Did anyone benefit from not being able to log in, especially now you have a free wildcard?

I had a friend who didn't get to change Kelly to Enrique and because of that he gained 4 points as Hughes came in. Now he has a wildcard to get rid anyway

"At the next deadline these transfers will deduct 8 points from your total score in classic leagues and your match score in head-to-head matches.

These transfers will be active for Gameweek 2 as long as they are confirmed by 20 Aug 11:30. "

^ Anyone else get this message when trying to change players for gw2? I assume the points wont get deducted though?

    i.e. points already deducted will be restored. No mention of points you are about to have deducted, or may spend after tuesday.

Im trying to figure out if anyone is able to look at the fpl box score like we were able to view last season. Where you were able to select the score for the game played, for instance blackburn 1-2 wolves, and view the minutes played, the goal scorers, assists, and points.
Anyone have any idea if that is viewable or will be viewable?

Wow so many people annoyed. What do you want? You moan about the problems, then you moan about the temp fix for the problem whilst the real problems get ironed out.
Use this gesture and take advantage like everyone else. Besides, one or two GW's aren't going to falter your whole season, especially this GW just gone as so many people only achieved arond 30-40.

On balance, FPL's action is the least problematic solution.

But the saddest thing for me is the removal of the advantage gained by researching the new and unknown players. A lot of the distance I traditionally put between me and my opponents (they are bad, Dino excepted) lay in the first few weeks, before they eliminated the mistakes in their initial selection.

But oh well. This is fun too.
