FPL Issue Apology

Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

    Damn all that effort and now i got to start all over again. Bloody clueless on what to do after seeing the bonus points allocations.

      Suarez is protected, I guess this means his price won't rise. So there isn't much point in buying him now. That's how I read it anyway.

      It says unlimited. So, you can make the total 15 changes to your team in one go, if you so wish.

      Sack Lynn for being unloyal – disloyal, and for joining in fun in a way that excludes her employer. And sack her for being an absolute idiot, and inefficient.

      I’ve calmed down, now... beyond the initial irritation and dismay, perspective HAS TO kick in - it's GW1 still (ffs), roll with a punch. All this my strategies are unveiled bull... again, sure it's disappointing that the site couldn't be ironed out PRE-season, but hey... like others alluded to before; evolve your strategies.

      Besides, there was only so long my addiction to transferring - that RUINED last season could be held at bay! 😆

      Kind of a bummer that for those that had included players like Hoolahan and Formica that now everyone will have a free shot at putting them in rather than using a roster move for it. On the other hand, it will allow all the knee jerkers to rid their roster of players like Tarrabt, etc. that didnt put up big numbers in the first week.

      Finally, its a bummer that this will now suck me into a vortex of constant tinkering (again) this week including resisting the urge not to allow a bunch of newbie opinions influence my decisions just because they are posted here.

    The beauty of this is that the people who couldn't get on and gave up last week will be unaware of this altogether. The vast majority who benefit won't have any real reason to.

    However, I think they know this, and it's down to silencing the critics about the new layout etc and keeping people happy with more tinkering. It's like on Family Guy when Brian is making a logical argument against Lois and she just throws a ball for him to go fetch.

    I would say I have/had a decent team, but I'm still happy the WC is here, I can make a few more tweaks for free. Its people like me that shouldn't be getting this WC as I had my team prepared friday morning and didn't attempt to change it from then forward.

          I'm thinking Tchoyi & Enrique for my team. Tchoyi look pretty great against United even when he was out left and even though Liverpool are a bit weak at the back 5.0 for a top 5 team, I can't say no.

      I felt I had a pretty good team going onwards compared to rivals but I'm not gonna sit here and moan. There was a few transfers I was considering so now I can strengthen my team even more now GW1 is out of the way.

      Yes my team, whilst not perfect wasn't bad, but I'll probably try and improve it.

      I took the gamble on getting Baines and Suarez in for my initial team, so I've now lost that advantage but I'm not moaning about it - whatever FPL did was going to affect some people.

      I had a team I was really, really happy with and my rivals teams are pure wan*.
      Today has come as a major dissapointment to me.
      If you didn't have the foundation of your team set by Friday night and hour or two on Saturday morning would hardly have helped IMVHO.

      Cahill will not rise by £0.2m. I know the sheep are generally stupid but even they realise he won't score every week and in fact that is probably his goal for the next few months.
