Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

We’ll have more on this later…
‪

Did anyone take a punt on Formica this weekend... I was glad my gamble with him paid off and now thanks to FPL i can add all the other top performers/form players to his armoury... just made my hangover feel like a distant memory

I did. 😀 Just got him in for GW1 really as I'd play Sinclair for the next few matches and bring Taarabt in later if he played well.

There are a couple of people in my minileague (decent players), one who registered only an autoselect team, the other who didn't have the opportunity to do even that due

I reckon they should be given the average score for the GW and go from there. Otherwise their seasons are ruined before they start.

With this extra WC, are prices frozen until GW2?

We are assuming that price rises will be frozen but no harm having a go.

The mini league issue can be sorted as it is possible to reset mini leagues to start in GW2. How this would be agreed, I cannot fathom.

So anyone who genuinely picked vidic,, gerviniho , vidic, etherington guy from qpr that got sent off is now laughing. Fair me thinks not...

Plus everyone will now bring in all decent players that they missed, judged on this weeks performance.

Finally people get the chance to bring in tottenham and everton players...May sound like a cynic but I just dont see how this resolves the situation.

Basically if you picked a rubbish team (genuinely) you now have a golden ticket to rectify your original mistakes...

I'm in the same boat I was laughing at some of my rivals picks...who's laughing now...

I was gonna make one change or none and save two transfers for next week. Now I'll probably change my whole team and make the biggest mistake ever...

Laughing? I nearly wet myself - one of my rivals picked Govec and invested far too much money in defence leaving himself well short on attacking options.

The advantage of having a tiny idea on BPs is going to have an effect too.

          Not happy tonight.

My rivals are mostly half soaked an all, I laughed at some of their teams! Now unfortunately they can look at players who showed form, or were indeed in the starting 11 (moses etc) and tranfer them in for nowt. Obviously i'll tweak my team now too, the thing thats doing my head in a bit is that I don't NEED to, and wouldn't of been making a transfer at all this week.

Yes, but some people (including a guy in my league) had an auto-select team due to the server crash. That's not fair on him. Either way some people would've been winners and some would've been losers, but I think this way is probably fairer than leaving auto-select teams screwed over.

Repost for those who missed it....

Yo peeps, for those who are not too familiar with the price rising system and how you can possibly profit or lose out this GW because of it, then check out the new article just posted on my site.

    http://footballorbust.wordpress.com/2011/08/15/the-third-fpl-wildcard/

    Hi guys,

    Couple of questions please!

    - Can we start transferring players now to catch the rises with no reductions? I understand the article but on the transfers screen it says that i can only make one free transfer, i thought they may have amended that.

    - will other players in the league get to see these temporary transfers? Or will they just see the changes as of the deadline on saturday.

    thanks!

Guys, the way I read it- transfers and WC must have ALREADY been made at the time the statement was issued. Those already made will be restored tonight.

Any new WC use is at your peril, you might lose it forever.

But new transfers until Sat deadline will have their points restored, regardless of what the screen now warns. The statement overrides the screen.

            This largely makes no sense.

"No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011)."

This is the operative statement. The rest is answering the "What if I already ... " question.

    Guys,
I have a question regarding the bonus points for tonights game.
My understanding is that these won't be allocated until next Monday morning is that correct??

If so what happens if you transfer out a City or Swansea player who collected BP's before this Saturdays GW starts (unlikely if they have a blinder but say its true for any Monday night game)

Will you still accrue the BP's next week even tho that player is no longer in your team?

I guess this is a good thing...! But a small part of me is slightly annoyed now that everyone can buy the players that I have! For once it looks like I have planned well, and I wouldn't need to use my wc in week 3. I also picked a weaker team so that my three good subs would play in week 2....!

It's definitely not perfect, by any short measure - that would have been having a game that works 100% spot on day one (and those leading up to day one).

However, I am surprised at some of the "anti" arguments as, to me, this is the fairest option available to remedy what went wrong.

I wish they never had to do this in the first place, but I do think it's only right everyone has the option available to start on an even field. We just have 37 gameweek season instead of 38 gameweek one, and a sour taste from a very odd, frenetic, traumatic, frustrating (and so on) few days.

I would imagine they will freeze the prices. I think that would be the right thing to do, but if they don't, I hope to make a few bucks.

they probably will, but if we can make unlimited unpenalized transfers, going after the bandwagons and dropping likely price fallers is pretty much the FPL equivalent of a call option, but ill admit i don't know finance all that well.

This means we can make transfers now and try to take advantage of any price rises? 😀

did not expect this but i guess its okay - hell, all the people moaning about it, are you going to keep the same team as GW1 - i doubt it!

Slightly disappointed with the BPs - I used to like the fact that Adam/Modric,etc could dominate a game, be MOTM and be rewarded at the end. Now this seems to take the fun out of picking creative players.

Ashley Cole are you kidding me - he turned off at one point and nearly let a goal in and yet i highly doubt that will show up in the stats. Alex/Torres/Bowsinga/Woodgate stood out for me, mega lols.

I agree on this. I don't like the randomness. True or not!

Sweet as a nut, can get in a few everton players in preparation for the forthcoming double and rid myself of a few dubious decisions!

I am guessing they are risking WW3 by lying so you are quite safe.
