Not so merry, certainly not so high – my rank took a tumble and my co-host rival has taken advantage: in an extraordinary Gameweek, Granville is now breathing down my neck with just two points between us. It’s a nightmare before Christmas.

Not surprisingly, much of this festive ScoutCast is given up to Granville’s ascent, his six million dollar man – Charlie Austin – and the failings of my faith in Diego Costa.

Around all that, we preview the Boxing Day schedule, cast an eye over the Scout leagues and assess the merits of the current transfers bandwagons. I even have time to throw in another Jose Mourinho conspiracy theory. Hey, let me have my fun – I needed cheering up.

Merry Christmas to all!

    1) Have foster who's only decent fix is in gw21 so taking krul out. Who to get between guzan panti or jones...leaning towards jones 😯 as neither panti or guzan rotate well..

    2) rooney >> giroud for free?

Jones seems fine, you won't expect much from him but he'll play and the fixtures have potential.

Go for Panti. Against stronger opponents he will have saves points. Transfer out Roo in next GW.

Given the choice between Bony or Costa (c) what would it be?

Currently on Costa, but I'm afraid that Drogba/ Remy might start 😕 Bony looks decent lately, surely due a haul against Villa

A lot of talk about Sanchez being rested and he didn't have a good game against Liverpool. But I think he will start as Arsenal are not high enough in the league to consider resting their best player.

Sure Wenger thinks they have enough to beat QPR at home without him though. I think he will be rested, but it's a guessing game.

      Correct
All rumors with absolutely no evidence, no sources
Wenger too stubborn to rest his players
He will start, this isn't Galatasaray after already qualifying for CL KO round
Had a in depth discussion about this a few nights ago, check it out if u want

He won't start. Wenger has discussed Sanchez's risk of a burnout already, and he looked off in the Liverpool game. Wenger has also discussed the effects of playing during the Christmas period for un-acclimatized players. Arsenal have the best home fixture in the league based on QPR's away form, and have two tough away matches in the coming days. He is the most likely of all the big players to be rested, and not worth the risk of a captaincy.

That was before Southampton and he scored the winner. Then was rested for Galatasaray.
Rest is logical but Wenger has a history of keeping the same 11 thru XMas.
Sanchez output is being affected by Giroud, and Cazorla moving centrally, he is almost useless in the left flank.
No one knows really, I just don't see who he would bench him for.

    Who to captain?

    A) Rooney
    B) Bony
    C) Silva
    D) Yaya

What would you do with this team this week?

    1FT & 2.0m in the bank.

    Guzan
    Baines Hutton Wilson
    Yaya Sanchez Hazard Siggy
    RVP Austin Kane

    Foster Wisdom Albrighton Duff

    Transfers? Captain? Vice captain?

Which option will score more this gw:
    (a) Cazorla & Giroud or
    (b) Cazorla & Silva (already have YYT)

Currently on (b) but worried about falling into the Silva trap i.e. he scores, you bring him in & he blanks. Countering that is that he's playing in a more attacking position instead of being on the wing.

    Thanks.
