FPL Issue Apology

Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

    Anyone else here hoping that Silva gets subbed off before the 60th minute. I would love to see him getting nothing more than 1pt (same goes for Yaya).

      Totally! My 2 main rivals had Roo & Silva as caps, thus ruining any points they got for me (who stupidly thought Geordie Carroll would come good againdt the Mackems!)

    Hopefully this hasn't been answered before, but:

    When I try to make use of my "unlimited" transfers, and am about to confirm, it says points will be deducted. Will they, or does it just say so?

      It used to be the case that any points for transfers weren't deducted immediately - it happened when the game updated at the following GW deadline. Don't know how they'll handle it in this scenario.

        That's my understanding. I suppose to play it safe you could wildcard it, as they have said they will restore that, but if it all goes tits up you haven't lost mega points.

    So.....just to confirm...I can make as many transfers as I want, take a points hit, and those points will be reimbursed at midnight tonight?

    So I can make as many changes as I like to my team this week?
    Or do I have to hit the wildcard button?

    If I start game scoring for gw2 on head to head league can new people join the league? A mate missed out on joining because of the saturday morning farce. I don't wanna restart the scoring if it's not do-able. Also, I'm getting Aguero in, as well as 99% of every one else too!

    just on the price rise thing... if you pick the team that you think will rise, and all players only go up by 0.1... and you want to transfer out 5 or 6 to get the team you really *want* but those players have also gone up by 0.1, then you effectively make a loss, right?

        Wait, you're only deducted 50% of any price rise during a sale, right? And the remainder is rounded up to the nearest £0.1M, right? If so, it should equal out, right?

    Surely they will freeze all player prices? Otherwise it will be unfair to those players that see the announcement tonight and those that don't until tomorrow. If you are gonna act like week 2 is week 1 you need to do it properly for all teams.
