Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

          can do a lot better than tiote for the same price or cheaper since all he does is get cards and doesnt score or assist. loving the attack though

      Good team but Alex and Tchoyi may be rotated because of players coming back from injuries and I don't think Lita will get much game time.

        thanks mate! i took Tchoyi cause he played out of position again last week and with their favourable fixtures coming up thought it would be worth a punt!! I am really confused between who to take Alex or Bosingwa??? any suggestions???

      Too much in defence I think. Keep Baines, Alex and Lescott and downgrade the others.

      That will allow you to upgrade Tiote/Tyochi/Lita (who the hell is Lita anyway?).

      I'd also pick one of Given/Schwarzer and combine with a cheapie (Vorm).

        Thanks!!! i think thats a good advice for the goalkeeper combo!!! i am hesitant to get rid of Shawcross cause stoke's defence looked rock solid!!! any advice out of shawcross and Bardsley who to kick out to upgrade my midfield or strikers???

    Vorm / Ruddy

    A Cole / Bosingwa / Kompany (De Leat/Simpson)

    NZog / Yaya / Sinclair / Moses (Dyer)

    Rooney / Aguero / Torres

    It was fun to make, but I'd like to balance out the Sinclair/Dyer, perhaps with Ohara. I can always drop a front guy for Suarez and re-up to Silva, but then my team looks like every single other team. This Wildcard thing is just tossing me around a bit here.

      Of course your forwards are all good and dandy but your mid is sh!te because of your forwards.

      What about upgrading Cole to Baines. Downgrade Rooney for Suarez. Then upgrade yaya for A Young/Nani.

      Very similar to mine actually.

      I'd say downgrade:

      Hughes to Senderos
      Lampard to Silva

      This frees up 3 mill to strengthen the midfield. I reckon Torres cover is enough going forward assuming he gets the nod and Silva give you the Man C coverage.

    I got 2.5 in the bank. I have a lot of City coverage. I could either upgrade Silva to Lampard or change Aguero to Torres and use the 2.5 elsewhere. Any word on Bosingwa being the locked in RB?
    Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

      I really like your approach and the balanced team. Look to spend 2.0m on your mid (save 0.5 for changes) or upgrade Johnson to Saha. Good team, inho, bar the shouting.

        Sinclair for N'Zogbia and I got 1 in the bank to adjust if I need next week.
        Would love to upgrade Cole for Baines and Enrique for Bosingwa. But Bosingwa is still not a for sure starter.

    My head is melting. Can't decide between:

    A) baines, nzogbia, aguero
    or
    B)cashley, cahil, bent

    B) leaves me with no city cover and no aguero but Bolton away are a fifferent prospect to swansea at home. Also Cahil is an unknown quantity at the moment but

    A) leaves me with only torres for chelski cover and I reckon cole is due a cleanie at the very least. QPR might squeeze one past everton on their first real test of the season.

      Good balance - it plays to the fixtures well. Given & Vorm rotation is not the best though.

      I'd give Bosingwa a run in that defence - he was too good to be dropped (famous last words) v Stoke for Ivanovic to sneak back in straight away; and the manager likes the overlapping full-back.

          Hi mate - I was going to try the Given/Vorm combo myself but too many of AV's and the Swans' 'good' fixtures clash.

          I suppose Schwarzer/Vorm or Given/Ruddy. Kenny is not in the equation after the 4-0 demolition at Bolton.

        I thought he was very good the other night. Scored in 3 consecutive games now. I only really got him in for the Swansea match, then i thought i'd keep him for Bolton but now with unlimited transfers, im not so sure.

          How long are you really going to want him for? I suppose if Tevez goes then he'll get some regular time if Mancini goes with 4-4-2 constantly otherwise he goes back to the bench!

      I would go with Rooney, see how the dust settles at City with new signings, players coming back and use their two away games to do this. Easy trade downwards after that if Aguero settles in week in week out
