Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

      I was lead to believe that 2 players from the same team on the same line isn't a good play re: Bosingwa and A. Cole. Just passing it along.

        doubling up is often very a very risky strategy as if it backfires thats 2 players u get nothing/little from.

        However Chelsea at home with favourable fixtures, lessens that risk and could get you heavy returns.

        I usually try to avoid it, but the next 2 games that chels have (wba & nor) are fairly "easy" and both at home. So i think i'll gamble and change it up again at gw 4.

        I could make a "Cole --> Baines" move, but then i will not have any left in the bank..

      Watching the Newcastle match i felt he cut a bit of a stranded figure. Mark's stats don't back this up but for me he barely ever looked like scoring last weekend and the service from Gervinho was poor. Tough fixtures coming up i just feel there are better value options out there at the mo.

        Who wins is irrelevant. The way both Barca and Madrid conduct themselves on and off the pitch is utterly deplorable. The fact each el classico ends with a fight just sums it up.
