Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

      Vorm has the good fixtures on the same week as Given, not a good idea to have both. Actually Given has pretty good fixtures for the next couple of weeks, on GW4 they visit Everton, when Ruddy for 4.0 is at home to WBA, I'm going with him.

          I got West Brom plus 38 points at 16/1... that looked like the best bet pre-season.

          Man City +6 at 10/1 looks quite reasonable after the start they've made, but probably best not to get too carried away on their prospects just yet.

              The golden boot is too much of a lottery. Any player could get injured and other players could score 3 or 4 against the likes of Wigan or Swansea.

      Same for me, but i considering cole->baines since have the 0,5 in the bank.

      kompany-baines-bos with brown and simpson on the bench is pretty decent defence?? Newcastle/sunderland rotation aswell. (i had enrique, but traded to brown because of the nice rotation with newc + pennies saved)

      I don't see how he'd be good, apart from getting 3 points. He doesn't assist much or score, but he was probably on par with Fat Frank as the best Chelsea midfielder.

      I'd guess 1 would offer greater risk/reward, where as 2 is probably more safe, but everyone has those players.

    I used to think Torres was class so am a big fan but this bandwagon will fail, Lampard is the way to go for Chelsea coverage imo, no matter where he plays in midfield he will always makes his forward runs into the box and will get 15 goals this season guaranteed if he doesn't suffer any serious injuries.

        I think it is madness, Lampard is just 1.0 more than Torres who has scored just one goal for Chelsea in the PL. Lampard was overlooked on this site towards the end of last season because he was playing deep and still scored goals against Spurs, WBA and Man Utd. I just find it mad how anyone can overlook him, he's probably the most consistent fantasy player, season after season he will score well no matter where he plays on the pitch because of his forward runs and penalties.

      I'm putting a lot of faith in Lamps. I plan to have him all season, and use him as captain for pretty much any chelsea home game. Just got a feeling he's in for an epic season!

          I'm a s'land fan and was toying up sess or larsson before the season and still toying now. Sess playing virtually as a striker but larsson on all corners and fk's. Tough call but think I'm sticking with sess. Just wished I'd have started with larsson and got those extra points ha ha
