Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

    GW4 is going to be rather annoying. Going to want to stock up on RVP / Aguero / Silva / another City defender. Nice run of fixtures coming up for both then. Don't really want to wildcard that early though.

    Maybe get rid of Cahill for Silva now!

    Silva vs Toure!

    Such a dilemma! Silva seems to be on fire atm but Toure was having shots from nowhere last week and could have scored a few.

    What are peoples thoughts? The extra 1.5 million could go towards upgrading a few other players

      I've reluctantly swapped Silva out for Toure today. It does free you up a bit... and crucially, Toure was more attacking than Silva last week: but for Vorm's heroics he would have got a goal or 2.

      Strong mid. Don't know much about Caulker. Lita is a big gamble.
      I'd say that Downing may be a better bet than Adam but I'm sure you've considered this and just gone on preference. If you went downing though you could get an extra .5 on a defender e.g. Senderos.

        I had Downing GW1 and the extra 0.5 would be handy but I think that Adam's set piece duties across the board probably just swing it - all those free kicks and corners aimed at Carrolls big bonce....

        Plus, being from North of the border I had to have one Scot in the team

                    Caulker on loan from spurs seems to have got Tates spot in Centre def from last season. Partnering Willams.

                    Last season normal back 4... Taylor / tate / williams / rangel

                    Not sure how caulker will impact on Williams partner.

                    Cahill is so streaky and Everton do usually start slowly, but they do have a run of four pretty decent games

                    Concensus seems to be doubling up on villa attack is overkill and Taraabt was far from impressive in what should have been a fairly good game for QPR

                    Probably B out of those two choices, but for 14m I think there might be better combos than both

            Well, deep inside I had already selected Dyer so I just needed someone to sway me completely lol. Anyway I've changed my team again now I need a not-more-than 6.0 mid preferably from Wolves. Jarvis, O'hara, Milijas and Henry are all on the radar...who would you choose?

              I had O'Hara in my starting team but he wasn't at all impressive (Too many potatoes maybe?) so I swapped him for Jarvis who was looking good when he played with Doyle.

              But on further thought then I realised that Wolves' fixtures for the next couple are OK but then after that they get tough.

              So I swapped Jarvis to Delph (AV). Apparently nailed on and a decent if unexceptional AM.

          Brunt's the best option, stick with him. He had a tough opening fixtures but still produced. I've done the same thing. Bench next game then back in.

    What if the answer to this Chelsea conundrum is doubling on their defense?

    Cole and Bosingwa could be great for the next few weeks, and when their run is over, downgrade to a cheap 5.0 or 4.5 (Enrique, Warnock, Brown, Senderos) to fund a midfield heavyweight.

      Doubling is a little excessive imo. Esp when there are so many attractive ubercheaps about:

      Simpson rotating with Brown
      Senderos for the fixtures

                His father was abducted I think, I'm not sure what he's doing but he was on Sky appealing for him to be let go. I don't think there is any more news on it, or if there is I haven't heard of it. I would say he's a doubt to play but thats a relatively trivial problem.

            Obviously it's top-heavy, which weakens the MF, but IMO its only weak when you know the prices of the players; think Sess, Sinclair, Hooly and Moses all have good runs and great potential. You're problem will arise when you want to transfer in some MF players if they hit good runs (eg Silva,VDV,Nani/Young etc.)

            Still great potential for big scores there.

            I'm getting rid of Enrique for now just to fit in Jags. I have Bosingwa who is blatently only going to last another GW or 2 in my team before I get rid as he's been rotated. Then can easily swap to Enrique and leave a little extra cash

            Exactly the same. Cashley is so nailed into my clean that I get an electric shock when my mouse hovers over him.

            Boswinga will probably be out as soon as Ivanovic is fit.

            The Cleverly miniature bandwagon is also premature in my eyes when you think that there's Giggs, fletcher and Park all able to play there and all with more experience.

            I started with Bos and thought it might be a good gamble for the first few GWs. Obviously this freak WC week has given me the chance to get rid easily but I'm leaving him in.

            He played great against Stoke and hopefully might keep his place against the minnows at home in GW2&3. Feel AVB will go very attacking for these games.

            So all in all I feel worth a short term gamble IF there are no other gambles in your DF. All my other DF will play and when the time comes Bos>Enrique

              Well if you want Man Utd attacking cover then it seems fairly obvious what you need to do.

              RVP>Roon. The Roon dog will be epic this year. RVP is a great player but he's on a sinking ship!!!

            I'd leave Moses in myself but apart from that it's pretty good; I'd probably give Carroll the game against ARS too as I thimk he'll Profit in the air there.
