Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Forgot to say, already have Moses and Eagles is tempting but I'm put off by tough fixtures for Bolton. Any other ideas?

Maybe a gamble on Cleverly but considering the fixtures too that really is a gamble.

haha I have the same problem. If Torres scores, the flood gates will open. Lamps is more reliable over the whole season. I dont think Lampard is supplying as much service with Ramieres playing now, he is so quick and taking the corners. I am going to be bold and go for Torres, in my team too. el Capitan

If you aren't gonna risk Gueye then get rid.

Pick someone other than Ramsey, not sure what he's doing there.

Expensive defense, you not want to bag the cheaper options on those teams to free up funds elsewhere? Also Huth's fixtures aren't worth his price.

In a sea of RMT's, i thought i''d share my confusion:
    1. Baines. Great fixtures, great from at the end of last season. BUT is he worth 8m - esp as it means i cant double up on Lamps and Torres...
    2. Boswinga. See him as a great short term pick (should play next 2 home games) but he cant be guaranteed every game
    3. Lampard/Torres. I want both. but obviously that rather unbalances the team (see point 1!)
    4. Best 6m mid? Had O'hara. Looking at Brunt. Cant decide.
Any musings on any of the above would be appreciated.

      1. Baines has great fixtures next four, 3 at home,if he doesn't produce in those get rid and no long term damage done, but if he scores well you're in before the price rise (assuming we're not to be given a WC every week)

      1) Don't think he's worth it, especially if you have Lampard too. Can't see the rest of your team being great if you've fit those two in. Personally i think he's overpriced and would rather pay for solid clean sheet potential, than the chance of an assist or goal.

      2) Yeah i've got him in the hope he plays the nexr 2 games. I'll easily be able to get rid after that for Gibbs then, if he doesn't look like being nailed on

      3) Probably Lampard if you could only afford one.

      4) Sinclair

          im just minxing and matching:

          1) General setup: Go with 3 biggies up top or drop Rooney for young?
          2) As much hype is around Ageuro I dont really want him before GW4.

          I'm almost there now though...

          Torres Saha Rooney up front

          gw3: Saha -> Saurez

    1. Gone round and round on this one and opted out for the time being. Will no doubt regret it
    2. I'm going with him - bit risky, but I think it's his place to lose
    3. I've considered this and it could pay off in a major way. There's just too many unknowns around at the moment and I'll be looking to spread my bets more evenly round the team
    4. Brunt looks decent.

I had him in for the first GW but he's injured at the moment, believe me if he wasn't I wouldn't be making the change....Unless you know something I don't regarding Given's fitness?!?

Given is 75% likely to play, I think McCleish said he would probably play, and you can play Vorm for one week if you have to.
