As if out of sympathy for the Fantasy Premier League, or podcast recording software crashed at the death this week. Finished. Kaput.

Panic ensued – hands on head there were cries of “I can’t go through that again” from host Mark as I desperately attempted to recover our lost words. Luckily, temporary files restored, our fifty fourth episode was rescued and rebuilt like Ledley King’s knee. Hopefully it won’t collapse again next week – like Ledley King’s knee.

Within it you’ll find unusually muted tones as Mark and I dissect the events or rather “non-events” of the weekend. Frustrations vented, this week’s broadcast picks up to its usual pace and departs on an optimistic note.

      Malouda and Sinclair imo

      Pen taker in there, and it's easier to do a straight swap with them, than it would be with N'zogbia and Silva as they're awkward prices (if that makes any sense)

      Nasri's on his way to City, so he might be a better option than Silva later

      My only attacking Villa coverage atm is Bent for the next two

    (Potential) Owners of Fulham players, here's food for thought based on tonight's game:

    - Young LB Matty BRIGGS (£4.0m) was excellent down the left flank, and *might* keep JA RIISE out of the side. Briggs was solid defensively, attacked really well, got an assist, and put a fair few teasing balls across the box.

    - SENDEROS(£4.5m) did not play, with Hughes restored to CB alongside Hangeland, and the quietly effective Stephen Kelly playing RB. Senderos might have been rested with Wolves in mind, but with Kelly's solid performance and Jol in the market for a RB, Senderos's game time might well be limited in the coming weeks.

    - Andy JOHNSON was benched, almost certainly with Wolves in mind, although it was Moussa Dembélé who made more of an impact when he came on.

    - ZAMORA held the ball up well and brought his teammates into the game as he always does, but he somehow blazed over a simple chance from 5 yards. He'll be keen to score against Wolves this weekend you'd assume, given the leg-break v them last season, so maybe he was saving his goals for that.

    - Clint DEMPSEY stole the show with two well-taken goals. Interestingly he started up front with Zamora, but became more effective when switched to the left-flank, when he was involved in a lot of promising build-up play. An excellent performance by the American.

    In short, Senderos's place now looks less secure, whilst Dempsey could prove a canny purchase this weekend...

        Senderos could well play, he's looked good pre-season and got the nod v Villa. But I'm not sure of his long-term prospects. Jol wants a more attacking right-back than Hughes, and not playing Hughes-Hangeland at CB is an almost sacrilegious thought to Fulham fans. Those two have a near-telepathic understanding of each other's games...

        For now though, Senderos probably plays...
