We’ve a couple of Premier League encounters to tide us over this afternoon. First up, Arsenal entertain Villa at the Emirates as Arsene Wenger’s men look for a fifth win in six attempts – the likes of Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud have earned plenty of new investors over the last couple of days as a result of Alexis Sanchez’ hamstring problems. With Villa failing to score in each of their last five, the Gunners’ prospects of a third straight shut-out also look likely here.

Later in the day, Southampton welcome under-strength Swansea to St Mary’s at 4pm. Eljero Elia was drafted in by 100,000+ FPL managers on the back of a double at Newcastle last time out but with Sadio Mane back from the African Cup of Nations, the Dutchman’s new owners will be eagerly awaiting Ronald Koeman’s team sheet. Like Arsenal, the Saints will be optimistic of a clean sheet today – Swansea are devoid of the suspended Gylfi Sigurdsson and have scored more than a single goal in just one of the last 11 Gameweeks.

I asked that earlier. No one answered. I may just get him and Krul on wildcard. Can always transfer Ospina out if he gets dropped.

can't be benching all £42.5mil of Ozil for long. I think Caz will become a rotation squad player

Thing is, Cazorla is basically playing next to Ramsey at centre mid. Ozil can't play there.

Normally I'd say Theo but then Arsenal would have three very similar mids with no pace

That's classic Wenger. Two creative players combining on the left, one pacy, direct attacker on the right.

See Pires/Bergkamp, Nasri/Fabregas, Arshavin/Rosicky or Cazorla/Ozil on one side. Then a Ljungberg, Overmars, Walcott, Sanchez type player on the right.

I think Walcott / Gitlroud mostly.
      Caz / Ozil occasionally
One of them will probably get injured today anyway.

i think the returning ozil and walcott will be rotated a fair bit for quite a few weeks. w/cazorla swapping between CAM and LM

I might be looking at Cazorla out after 1 week... I fear it'll be him that drops out, now that Ozil has got an assist.

    Or Walcott that drops out?

'Now that Ozil has got an assist'.

Wenger is interested in performances, not fantasy football points.
