Our post-Gameweek look at the new injuries sustained over the weekend brings worrying news for Sam Allardyce as a trio of Hammers players limped off at Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers eases fears over his captain’s weekend absence, though Stoke have concerns over Ryan Shawcross once again.

Chelsea
Willian was replaced on 79 minutes of last night’s draw with City at Stamford Bridge after picking up an injury, according to the club’s official website.

Crystal Palace
In his first appearance since Gameweek 16, Marouane Chamakh lasted just 24 minutes before being forced off in Palace’s home loss to Everton with a suspected broken nose. Alan Pardew remains optimistic that the Moroccan will be back in time for next week’s trip to the King Power Stadium:

â€The loss of Cham was crucial today, his guile and experience around the box would have been important. He’s got a broken nose we fear, so fingers crossed he doesn’t get my cold. He wasn’t concussed, but it was a heavy blow to the nose. But I think he’ll be okay for Leicester.â€

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers allayed fears over Steven Gerrard’s absence from yesterday’s win overWest Ham, with the Reds skipper expected to return for the midweek FA Cup replay against Bolton:

“It was just precautionary, really. After the game the other night, his hamstring was tight. We’ve got a lot of games over the coming months, so we didn’t want to risk it when we have other players that are fresh.â€

Southampton
Lloyd Isgrove was a late withdrawal from the Saints squad that lost to Swansea today, meaning Ronald Koeman could only name six subs in the 1-0 defeat.

Stoke
The Potters skipper Ryan Shawcross lasted just 41 minutes of the 3-1 win over QPR before being forced off through injury.

Sunderland
Wes Brown missed the Black Cats’ 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday after failing to prove his fitness upon returning to training, confirmed Black Cats boss Gus Poyet:

“Wes trained for a couple of days and it is nothing serious, so it is just about making sure he is 100% so that when we throw him in he is ready because I can tell you that it is very hard. It is great for us because we now have a big squad and I can refresh the team if I need to, but of course the ones that performed at 3pm against Burnley will have a better chance next week.â€

Swansea
Marvin Emnes lasted just 15 minutes of this afternoon’s trip to Southampton before being withdrawn due to injury. Garry Monk has further worries on the flank after Emnes’ replacement Mo Barrow was stretchered off towards the end of the 1-0 win. Leon Britton missed today’s clash due to illness, according to the club’s official website.

West Ham
Sam Allardyce is counting the cost of yesterday’s loss to Liverpool after a trio of players were forced off through injury at Anfield. The Hammers boss saw centre-halves James Collins and Winston Reid both limp off with hamstring injuries, whilst Andy Carroll picked up a knew problem in the 2-0 defeat. Post-match, Allardyce rolled out an update:

Those three coming off has thrown us into a major crisis at the minute injury-wise and you can’t expect to come to a place like Liverpool and win when those things go against you. In all fairness to Ginge, because of the injuries we had in defence [in the build-up] he tried to come in and get through this game himself, but his hamstring injury had obviously re-occurred by half-time.

Allardyce also confirmed that midfielder Cheick Kouyate missed out after returning from international duties with Senegal nursing a back injury.

Silva is probably a better option than di maria at least for next week. Defence looks very solid. Maybe you can consider Eriksen for Di Maria as well.

Looks solid otherwise. Guessing your team value is quite high 🙂

Looking at City and Arsenal fixtures, I see it impossible to not double up on their attackers.

    Carzola and Sanchez.

I can do this and drop ADM for Mane

    Carzola Mane Sanchez Hazard Boyd
    Aguero Bony Kane

Is anyone thinking of getting Aguero AND Bony?

I have three of those, only missing Silva, and have money to do AJ > Silva.
Two things. Scared of NOT having Santi and him outscoring Sanchez.
and scared of getting stuck with Giroud as he turns into a donkey and midfield fire in goals all around him...
but I do have 2nd wildcard in pocket

    morning all

My Betrand buy wasn't the best so it looks as I'm going to sell him and Rooney who's not done anything for weeks.

    Team:
    Heaton, Pants
    Bertrand, Terry, Baird, Jones, Oshea
    Sanchez, Carloza, Sanchez, Downing, Puncheon
    Rooney, Kane, Giroud

    options:
    1. Rooney + Bertrand--> Aguero + £4.5m df (-4)
    2. Rooney + Sanchez--> Aguero + Ericsen (-4)

leaning towards option 2 but will lose a stack of cash on Sanchez. Any thoughts?

I think he is nailed on. Rangel lost his place to Tiendalli and Richards for a couple of matches earlier this season, so I'm pretty sure Naughton was bought as first choice. I don't think Naughton would have left Spurs if he hadn't be promised a place in the starting XI.

It's worth nothing that Rangel has said he want to fight for his place in the team.

surely worth the gamble. but at the expense of Giroud? That's the question. Doubt people are dropping Kun or Kane for him.

Fr is another possibility, but i believe our midfield are stacked.

      Who is his challenger?

      Debuchy out
Chambers - unlikely considering his Bellerin's last few performances.

Seems nailed to me, unless this new guy can play as a RB?

    Good day

    Wildcard activated

    Foster (vs burnley)
    Ivanovic (vs villa)
    Zabaleta (vs hull)
    Van holt (vs Swansea)

    Silva (vs hull) (Vc)
    Puncheon (vs Lei)
    Cazorla (vs tot)
    Hazard (vs villa)

    Aguero (vs hull) (C)
    Kane (vs arsnl)
    Giroud (vs tot)

    Subs
Carles gil (for gw 25 against hull)
Yoshida (cheap way in Southampton defense)
    Baird (3.9 price possible starter.)

I have reached a point where I can't seem to find an issue with the team or opportunities to be missed. but your views may prove me wrong. Please share. Thanks in advance

Think I got him at similar price, still i ditched him with my WC last week. And I believe those 2 you mentioned are more than able to outscore him in the next 3 GWs. Still Austin' fixtures ain't that bad. Big call, I know.

Will Sanchez drop 0.2 this week? If so, I might ship out for SV 11. Buy him back when he is fit for the extra 0.2. I think it is worth 0.2 to avoid benching 11m (11% of your budget) for 1-2 weeks.

Fonte is no longer cheap at 5.7. BAP magnet but does not have Clyne's goal potential.

Sanchez's injury will possibly be longer than perhaps most think:

    - Hamstring injury

Most importantly the injury itself tends not to be a 'rest for a few days and recover' type. He's an explosive movement player and if not fully recovered could go again any minute. Wenger looked fairly optimistic in the Villa pre-match press conference but we've seen AW be optimistic before about Abou Diaby's fitness levels...

    - Arsenal's options

As demonstrated perfectly yesterday, they probably have the best attacking options squad-wise in the whole league. With the vast majority of them now or soon to be fit, and crucially firing, there's not as big as a rush to get him back playing.

    - Matches/Competitions

The UCL starts up again soon and with a prime opportunity to win another trophy via retaining the FA Cup, Arsenal will soon have a very busy schedule. Does he rest Sanchez now for a couple of weeks to get him fully prepared for the March-onwards onslaught?

I stick to building funds 1st half of the season and building points 2nd half. Seems to work and although Sanchez loses me half mil, if I hear it is "a few weeks out, he has to go. Stur, Costa, and some others will earn 20pts plus in 3 weeks. It is all about the timing methinks!
