Our post-Gameweek look at the new injuries sustained over the weekend brings worrying news for Sam Allardyce as a trio of Hammers players limped off at Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers eases fears over his captain’s weekend absence, though Stoke have concerns over Ryan Shawcross once again.

Chelsea
Willian was replaced on 79 minutes of last night’s draw with City at Stamford Bridge after picking up an injury, according to the club’s official website.

Crystal Palace
In his first appearance since Gameweek 16, Marouane Chamakh lasted just 24 minutes before being forced off in Palace’s home loss to Everton with a suspected broken nose. Alan Pardew remains optimistic that the Moroccan will be back in time for next week’s trip to the King Power Stadium:

”The loss of Cham was crucial today, his guile and experience around the box would have been important. He’s got a broken nose we fear, so fingers crossed he doesn’t get my cold. He wasn’t concussed, but it was a heavy blow to the nose. But I think he’ll be okay for Leicester.”

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers allayed fears over Steven Gerrard’s absence from yesterday’s win overWest Ham, with the Reds skipper expected to return for the midweek FA Cup replay against Bolton:

“It was just precautionary, really. After the game the other night, his hamstring was tight. We’ve got a lot of games over the coming months, so we didn’t want to risk it when we have other players that are fresh.”

Southampton
Lloyd Isgrove was a late withdrawal from the Saints squad that lost to Swansea today, meaning Ronald Koeman could only name six subs in the 1-0 defeat.

Stoke
The Potters skipper Ryan Shawcross lasted just 41 minutes of the 3-1 win over QPR before being forced off through injury.

Sunderland
Wes Brown missed the Black Cats’ 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday after failing to prove his fitness upon returning to training, confirmed Black Cats boss Gus Poyet:

“Wes trained for a couple of days and it is nothing serious, so it is just about making sure he is 100% so that when we throw him in he is ready because I can tell you that it is very hard. It is great for us because we now have a big squad and I can refresh the team if I need to, but of course the ones that performed at 3pm against Burnley will have a better chance next week.”

Swansea
Marvin Emnes lasted just 15 minutes of this afternoon’s trip to Southampton before being withdrawn due to injury. Garry Monk has further worries on the flank after Emnes’ replacement Mo Barrow was stretchered off towards the end of the 1-0 win. Leon Britton missed today’s clash due to illness, according to the club’s official website.

West Ham
Sam Allardyce is counting the cost of yesterday’s loss to Liverpool after a trio of players were forced off through injury at Anfield. The Hammers boss saw centre-halves James Collins and Winston Reid both limp off with hamstring injuries, whilst Andy Carroll picked up a knew problem in the 2-0 defeat. Post-match, Allardyce rolled out an update:

Those three coming off has thrown us into a major crisis at the minute injury-wise and you can’t expect to come to a place like Liverpool and win when those things go against you. In all fairness to Ginge, because of the injuries we had in defence [in the build-up] he tried to come in and get through this game himself, but his hamstring injury had obviously re-occurred by half-time.

Allardyce also confirmed that midfielder Cheick Kouyate missed out after returning from international duties with Senegal nursing a back injury.

Sometimes going all out on 3 attacking assets from the team is what FPL is all about.

Worked well for me last season when Liverpool and City were in amazing attacking form and confidence - 6 of my front 7 were from Liverpool and City.

You could say the same about this Arsenal attack at the moment - just so much creativity and even direct football when needed.

plus most will double on 2 of Sanchez/Caz/Giroud...only way to one-up them is to go with 3.

Agree. Not only 3 attacking assets, 3 defensive assets can do wonders too. Flash back to Stoke in Pulis (and Delap - worth mentioning) days - i can recall people having 3 STO at the back and did 'em a great job.

i am still with diversity in the attack from all the different teams
currently one from united pool city chelsea and arsenal
they are all big teams and they all score when the fixtures are good
tottenham players are waiting to come in for any of the above when the fixtures mood change

if you were to go with 3 arsenal players, who would they be and why?

i'm currently on bellerin for his price and recent performances, meaning that he should retain his position. sanchez because of his explosiveness and large point hauls when fit and giroud because he's the out and out striker in a great attacking team and he is involved in a lot of goals.

Sanchez - got him cheap, hard to get him back if i sell, think he'd still be the man we know when he returns eventually.

Santi - mad form, looks nailed on.

Toss a coin between Bellerin and Giroud. Both for their good, obvious reasons. Currently I'm on Giroud.

Same, I got him cheap. But I need to lose a 11.4m bench warmer and potential 0.2 value dropper. I will definitely get him back when fit regardless of price then... I am just reluctant to pull the trigger and face the pain.

Caz Giroud and Alexis personally - 1) pens + set pieces + form, 2) striker for Arsenal is probably the easiest job in the PL at the moment, and 3) Alexis' energy + attitude can change any game.

i think u can drop kos and use the cash to upgrade either carz (for sanchez if fit) or austin with his week off in gw 27 or leave the cash on the side for any emergency transfers in the next weeks
but all in all, it looks good

I'd probably be inclined to agree with parts of the comment above.
Can you downgrade Kosc? Two big hitters is enough in defence I feel

Maybe use the funds to upgrade Austin if you can?
Like the mid, but I think if you're going to go Sanchez-less you probably need a 2nd Arsenal attacker(for now, strike whilst the iron...)

I like Kos' points per game. But maybe two heavy hitters at the back is enough. Thanks.

Going Sanchez-less just because he's injured. Do we know anything about the extent of it?

I don't think so, think it's just a waiting game for now

I'm probably going to have to weigh up where else I can cover his points from, can I use the cash to upgrade elsewhere.

    defensive crisis...

    bertrand - out
baird (bur) - will he even play?
wolly (new) - tough fixture and without shawx no clean sheet
pva (swa) - not an easy fixture away
jones (whu) - away game vs a strong side

since i already did my transfer and brought in silva - is it worth it to take bertrand out for a hit? and for who?

    Foster Pants

    Bellerin Terry PvA Naylor Woll

    Sterling Haz Eriksen Santi Downing

    Studge Aguero Kane

Plan is to swap Downing and Santi for Bolasie (or someone of similary value) and Sanchez once he's fully fit and back in the side.

Anyone ever tried to work out stats for continuous 2 tfrs per week.
I know it is not as simple as it sounds but.
Injury to premium player and price changes vs -4pts
    planning fixtures,form, dg's vs -4pts.
Optimising use of cash (cheap to expensive and visa versa) vs -4pts.

If 3 ou of 4 of the above come into play, surely its worth it?
I hope peolple understand the post.

Just Berty out then. You can start Wisdom and bench ShawX if his injury isn't serious.

i think the fact that he's out for the Chelsea away game isn't really relevant - you wouldn't play him in that anyway.

Perhaps not, but if injuries pile up it could be an issue.

Ozil could be tempting at 8.9

Think A is a good move, just to see how Arsenal lineup with Sanchez back then hit the button on either Cazorla/Walcott

I have Walcott was happy with his return but now stressed if he's going to start next game.

Just thought of that myself. May do ADM to Wally/Caz next week instead. Only thing stopping me would be his home fixture vs Burnley.

leighton baines have only been outscored by chadli sigurdson and downing who are cheaper midfielders than him
and that was everton's worst midseason rank for some time
    food for thought...
