Our post-Gameweek look at the new injuries sustained over the weekend brings worrying news for Sam Allardyce as a trio of Hammers players limped off at Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers eases fears over his captain’s weekend absence, though Stoke have concerns over Ryan Shawcross once again.

Chelsea
Willian was replaced on 79 minutes of last night’s draw with City at Stamford Bridge after picking up an injury, according to the club’s official website.

Crystal Palace
In his first appearance since Gameweek 16, Marouane Chamakh lasted just 24 minutes before being forced off in Palace’s home loss to Everton with a suspected broken nose. Alan Pardew remains optimistic that the Moroccan will be back in time for next week’s trip to the King Power Stadium:

â€The loss of Cham was crucial today, his guile and experience around the box would have been important. He’s got a broken nose we fear, so fingers crossed he doesn’t get my cold. He wasn’t concussed, but it was a heavy blow to the nose. But I think he’ll be okay for Leicester.â€

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers allayed fears over Steven Gerrard’s absence from yesterday’s win overWest Ham, with the Reds skipper expected to return for the midweek FA Cup replay against Bolton:

“It was just precautionary, really. After the game the other night, his hamstring was tight. We’ve got a lot of games over the coming months, so we didn’t want to risk it when we have other players that are fresh.â€

Southampton
Lloyd Isgrove was a late withdrawal from the Saints squad that lost to Swansea today, meaning Ronald Koeman could only name six subs in the 1-0 defeat.

Stoke
The Potters skipper Ryan Shawcross lasted just 41 minutes of the 3-1 win over QPR before being forced off through injury.

Sunderland
Wes Brown missed the Black Cats’ 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday after failing to prove his fitness upon returning to training, confirmed Black Cats boss Gus Poyet:

“Wes trained for a couple of days and it is nothing serious, so it is just about making sure he is 100% so that when we throw him in he is ready because I can tell you that it is very hard. It is great for us because we now have a big squad and I can refresh the team if I need to, but of course the ones that performed at 3pm against Burnley will have a better chance next week.â€

Swansea
Marvin Emnes lasted just 15 minutes of this afternoon’s trip to Southampton before being withdrawn due to injury. Garry Monk has further worries on the flank after Emnes’ replacement Mo Barrow was stretchered off towards the end of the 1-0 win. Leon Britton missed today’s clash due to illness, according to the club’s official website.

West Ham
Sam Allardyce is counting the cost of yesterday’s loss to Liverpool after a trio of players were forced off through injury at Anfield. The Hammers boss saw centre-halves James Collins and Winston Reid both limp off with hamstring injuries, whilst Andy Carroll picked up a knew problem in the 2-0 defeat. Post-match, Allardyce rolled out an update:

Those three coming off has thrown us into a major crisis at the minute injury-wise and you can’t expect to come to a place like Liverpool and win when those things go against you. In all fairness to Ginge, because of the injuries we had in defence [in the build-up] he tried to come in and get through this game himself, but his hamstring injury had obviously re-occurred by half-time.

Allardyce also confirmed that midfielder Cheick Kouyate missed out after returning from international duties with Senegal nursing a back injury.

To any mods out there, i really love the RMT feature but it needs a little updating.
Bellerin averaging 1.1 for next 8 weeks.
Advising to bench sterling and play boyd are the two beauties for this week.

      Hey GC

Cheers for the feedback - Bellerin's figures will be due to doubts over gametime, personally I think he's fairly secure but it's obviously opinion based. I'll flag up that the probabilities might need adjusting, I think that's a Jonty/Mark thing and they review it regularly anyway.

As for Sterling/Boyd, that sounds a bit more strange - I'll mention that too.

According to the youtube thing yonks ago. The probabilities of starting are set by Mark.

However, if it doesnt tell you to bench Bellerin, then it means there is an upside in that if he does start he should get a fair number of points.

But I would say RMT is not without faults, and it really does not like slightly risky options.

All fair points, difficult to build any sort of model that doesn't have flaws along those lines though.

I agree, and see no issue with it.

I would prefer it to list the major assumptions on the home screen for all to see though.

Hmm, I'd hope most people would realise that by the very nature of being a predictive tool it must be heavily reliant upon assumptions but it's a good point, perhaps it could be spelt out a little more clearly.

What to do with this team?

    Foster/Myhill
    Terry/Bertrand/Jones/PVA/Wisdom
    Sanchez/Walcott/Hazard/ADM/Boyd
    Aguero/Kane/Austin

    1FT, 0.8 ITB

Thinking Bertrand to Bellerin? I want to ditch Walcott, Austin and ADM soon, but will have to be patient. Bellerin will allow Austin->Giroud, but only after ditching Walcott as I'd have 3 Arsenal players.

Could maybe bench Bertrand and do Walcott/ADM to Sterling?

    Thoughts much appreciated.

When is Toby back? You could wait and then do a straight swap Bert to him?

Why is everyone so sure of getting rid of ADM?

People will still want him for Burney in a few weeks though. He's a class player and can get points anyway.

I'm not sure, I'm tempted to ditch Walcott as I can see him being sacrificed if Sanchez is back. The transfer I really want to do is Austin -> Giroud, but I need a couple of other transfers to be able to do that.

Because he is rubbish for fpl. If he was 70 or so he'd be alright but he wouldn't finish a chocolate button so is not going to score many and if he costs too much for assists alone

Its really easy to take Silva out of a game if there is no other threat. Notice how against Chelsea that Navas had to carry the attack, and that is not what you want as a manager really.

Suspect you'll end up with most of your players away from home this week too - not many good options from the home teams.

By the way - I have a complaint about the LAWR leagues - I'm up to second in the all team classic scoring league but am languishing in 8th in my H2H league due to unfortunate fixture planning. It's a damn disgrace! 😉

            For the next 2 GWs:

            a) Sterling > Silva

No, I already have Sterling. Was thinking of out for Silva or Fabregas. Only for a couple of weeks, after that the position gets caught up in my GW 27/8 routine.

Was always intending to exit Sterling this week but "form over fixtures" is what they say and his next 2 fixtures are fairly OK.

    Hi everyone
Active WC, very important.. current rank is 7,1k, 20 points behind in ML.
    Thoughts on this team?
    Foster – Myhill
    Wisdom – Hutton – Naughton – PVA – Azpi
    Alexis – Hazard – Cazorla – Sterling/Oscar/Eriksen – Ameobi
    Sturridge – Aguero – Kane

0,1 ITB with that team, and a real headache over the Sterling/Oscar/Eriksen decision.
Defence looks pretty solid, a bit worried about Azpi getting rotated later on tho. Just cant fit Terry in if I want Cazorla + Sterling/Oscar/Eriksen.

A booking would have probably sufficed - in order to calm down the situation. But the handling of the Costa suspension really backed Mr Oliver into a corner - if he adjudged the Costa incident as a sending-off, then Berty had to go too, otherwise there would have been (quite correct) rumblings from Chelsea about inconsistency.

I did. That's why I think a booking to calm things down might have been a better way to handle it - even better if it was after one of the earlier incidents. The issue is partly due to Mr Oliver allowing it to escalate. I don't have any real problems with the red but it could have been avoided with better refereeing. And when it comes to an appeal the FA can't take the previous altercations in to account, they have to go on the singular event alone - it might not be right, but that's how it works.

Well, Bertrand deliberately targeted Mamadou's standing knee with his trailing leg.

                  That should do it.

I agree wholeheartedly with an earlier booking - but it didn't happen.

I have to agree. Very little chance of a successful appeal because it was at least a yellow. And Mourinho will be on the FA's case (via the press) if it does miraculously get overturned. Two reasons why the ban will stand - one much more valid than the other.

I would say not. It was at least a yellow and I don't think the rules allow a downgrade - only complete acquittal. But if you have Berty you may as well wait for the verdict, even if it does seem inevitable.

    Foster, GREEN*
    Terry*, Bellerin, Collo, PVA, Wisdom
    Sanchez, Hazard*, Fabregas, Silva, Santi
    Aguero, KANE*, Ayoze
    Bank 0.0m

    Use 1 transfer over GW25-26
    GW27: Fabregas -> ADM
    GW28: Collo & ADM -> VERT & ERIKSEN

Will enable me to field 11(*benched) in GW27 and have 4 DGWers (CAPS) in GW28 for no hits.
