Our pre-Gameweek look of the PlayON Player Price List arrives once again, with just over eight hours until another deadline. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON have extended their deadline for submitting teams so you can now tinker with your starting XI right up until the first kick-off each week – this evening that’s 7.45pm, where three of the Gameweek’s ten fixtures get underway.

Goalkeepers – Allan McGregor
Hull were unlucky to concede so late at the Etihad last weekend and the resilience shown before James Milner’s equaliser will be encouraging for Steve Bruce ahead of the visit of Aston Villa. The Tigers’ backline had been breached just twice in four home fixtures prior to the recent 3-0 loss against Newcastle and with Paul Lambert’s side scoring just once in the last seven, McGregor (4% ownership) looks good value at just 7.0m. Sunderland’s Costel Pantilimon hosts a QPR side that have lost every away match so far this season and are devoid of injured top scorer Charlie Austin. Given that Austin has netted four of his side’s six away goals this term, the Black Cast will be confident of a shut-out – priced at 7.2m, the 23%-owned big Romanian has averaged over four saves per appearance this season to boost his appeal.

Defenders – Alberto Moreno
We wanted to go with Patrick van Aanholt here but Pantilimon covers the Sunderland defence nicely. Instead, we have opted for a Liverpool defender after a drastic improvement at the back has earned the Merseysiders four successive clean sheets. The visit of Spurs is by no means straightforward but Moreno (7.5m, 1% ownership), with two goals this season, offers the chance of attacking returns in his wing-back berth and is also likely to be busy with tackles and interceptions. It’s difficult to ignore an Arsenal defender available for 6.3m in PlayON and with over 40% ownership it appears many agree. Hector Bellerin has started the last four and a fourth clean sheet in five is on the cards as the Gunners look to recover from the slip up at Spurs against Leicester City at the Emirates.

Midfielders – Juan Cuadrado
Chelsea’s new arrival earns the nod as our left-field pick in the centre of the park. Granted, it’s a risk to go with a player with such little Premier League experience but Cuadrado’s low 3% ownership in PlayON and record at Fiorentina makes the winger an interesting differential prospect. With doubts remaining over Leighton Baines’ fitness and bearing in mind replacement Brian Oviedo has only made five appearances this season, Jose Mourinho could give the pacey Columbian (10.3m) his first start with an intent to exploit the Toffees’ left-back situation. Saido Mane (9.5m) makes the step-up to essential status after striking the winner away to QPR last time out. The Southampton winger has now scored in each of his last four starts and with Graziano Pelle’s toiling up top, the 26%-owned Mane’s eye for goal looks key as West Ham make their way to St Mary’s.

Forwards – Jermain Defoe
The striker has hit the ground running on his return to English football. Despite grabbing two goals and an assist in his three appearances for Sunderland, Defoe remains very budget friendly at just 7.2m – he currently sits in 30% of teams ahead of a plum home fixture with a managerless QPR side that’s conceded at least twice in each of their last five on the road. Olivier Giroud makes the picks once again as Arsenal prepare for the visit of basement-dwellers Leicester. The Frenchman – priced at 10.9m and sitting in 42% of PlayON teams – has two goals and as many assists in his last three and with the Gunners midfield difficult to predict with the return of Alexis Sanchez, Giroud looks a trouble-free route into their attack.

Defoe for Kane. Is that a good move? I know Kane's in a bit of a purple patch. However, Liverpool look much better defensively. Defoe has done well since his move (2 goals and an assist in 3 games). Sunderland have a decent run. Both similar fee. Thinking I'd bring Kane back when Spurs have double gameweek. Thoughts?

        How is it madness?

If he has 4 or more Chelsea and Spurs some have to go before GW 27. Spurs have Liverpool (a) and WHam (h) before the blank. Sunderland have QPR (h) and WBA (h) and no blank.

If he doesn't have a lot of value tied up in Kane it seems an eminently sensible move.

That was my thinking. Currently have Chadli and Kane from Spurs. Would replace at least 1 Spurs player and bring 1 back for their double gameweek. Defoe is up against some average defences. Didn't think it'd be that bad a move.

Don't think they've conceded from open for ages. Even against Chelsea in the 2 cup games. Liverpool have a good record against Spurs in recent games (home and away).

    morning chaps

I have Bellerin Walcott and Giroud as my 3 arsenal players
If Walcott is on the bench and sanchez starts then I'm automatically doing Walcott to sanchez as my FT

However if walcott and sanchez both start should I:

    1) sacrifice giroud/bellerin to get sanchez in
    2) switch walcott to sanchez anyway
    3) stick and hope sanchez has a quiet one

    thanks

Nah - Chester with a good fixture. Sterling - if fit - is always dangerous. Spurs aren't that strong defensively. Özil is bound to resume disappointing soon enough.

Chester looks like injured though. Any news on return date?
What about Walcott then? Gotta ship Sterling.

Hmm - on second thought, of Feeo and Özil, I think the latter is more nailed on. So if you must get rid of Sterling, go for Özil.

Don't know when Chester will be back.

    Repost...end of last post

    After some advice....

    Krul
    PVA Clyne Bellerin
    Cazorla Hazard Sterling Silva
    Aguero Giroud Defoe

    Foster Cork Zouma Wisdom

    1 FT and 2.9 ITB

If Sanchez starts Cazorla -> Sanchez unless Sterling doesn't start then Sterling -> Oscar or save and play Zouma?

    Hope that makes sense!

    Pantilimon (Foster)
van Aanholt Jones Terry Clyne (Baird)
Hazard Di María Sánchez (Puncheon, Boyd)
    Kane Giroud Agüero

    1) Baird -> Bellerín (seems overkill on Def0
    2) Baird -> Wasilewski/Bruce
    3) Other transfer?

      Arteta > Santi > Giroud

is the confirmed order (by Wenger)

Cazorla, but who know, after his last penalty, maybe Giroud will take over.

Make sure to update Everton's. Mirallas and no other name should be fairly easy to edit.

So if Cazorla is benched and Sanchez starts - there's a definite case for Giroud (c) over Sanchez.

      That's all, thanks everyone.

Gor Giroud to head in or knock in the rebound 😉

I have Caz, Ozil, no Sanchez but just enough itb to do Ozil -> Sanchez. Caz -> Sanchez would require a hit.

in the event of Sanchez and Ozil both starting, would you do Ozil -> Sanchez? Or take a hit to do Caz -> Sanchez if Caz isnt starting?

What should my course of action be tonight, given the various permutations?

If Caz isn't starting and Sanchez is then Caz > Sanchez(c) is well worth a hit.

I wouldnt take a hit for an arsenal attacker if they are in the starting XI tonight

You're going to be asking yourself the same question every week about Caz and Ozil now...Get rid of both...one for Sanchez this GW ?keep the one that plays) and the other for Eriksen for the DGW.

Been seeing a lot of suggestions to do Defender > Bellerin

Is he really certain to keep his place though? With the blank coming, can't really afford to choose a player prone to rotation.

Who will get more points out of these two..

    A) Fab at home to Everton and Burnley with a -4 (considering costa is coming back to assist too in the Burnley match)

or B) ADM at home to Burnley and away to Swansea

...what if Caz is benched? Most transfers this week will be determined by line-ups.

Who do we think is the better option for first sub this week:

    Boydinho or Hutttoninho?

I'm thinking the latter just now, but it's close

    Forster
    Terry - Clyne - PVA
    Sanchez - Hazard - ADM - Cazorla
    Aguero - Giroud - Kane

Bench: Hamer - Wisdom - Boyd - Hutton

    Couple of questions:

    1) Giroud or Sanchez for (c)?

    2) I have too many ARS attackers (got Caz as cover for injured Sanch) - but should I wait til next week to transfer one of them out?
