Jack Wilshere is sidelined for the Gunners after undergoing minor ankle surgery. Carlton Cole is out of the Hammers’ home clash with Crystal Palace, who are without a trio of forwards through injury. Daryl Janmaat has been passed fit for Newcastle. Toby Alderweireld remains unavailable with a hamstring problem, Alan Hutton and Aly Cissokho are doubts for Villa, whilst West Brom are sweating over the fitness of Saido Berahino and James Morrison.

In his Friday morning press conference, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Jack Wilshere will be sidelined for a few days after undergoing minor ankle surgery. Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini will return to training tomorrow but Sunday’s clash with Everton will come too soon for the duo. Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy are still “a few weeks away” from returning.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Carlton Cole is out of the weekend meeting with Palace, after the forward limped out of the Spurs clash with a hamstring injury. Allardyce has also confirmed that new signing Nene is likely to be amongst the substitutes this weekend.

Crystal Palace face a striker shortage ahead of their meeting with the Hammers, after Alan Pardew confirmed that Frazier Campbell, Marouane Chamakh and Yaya Sanogo will all miss out with injury. In more positive news, midfielder James McArthur has been passed fit after missing last week with a thigh problem.

Newcastle boss John Carver will have Daryl Janmaat available for the visit of Aston Villa, after the right-back was passed fit having overcome a groin problem. Meanwhile, Remy Cabella remains sidelined with a knee injury. Midfielder Cheick Tiote has also been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Toby Alderweireld remains sidelined for the trip to the Hawthorns, confirms Ronald Koeman, who believes the Belgian could return to action against Palace in midweek. Aside from Jay Rodriguez and Emmanuel Mayuka, Koeman has no other absentees for the Baggies clash.

West Brom are sweating over the fitness of James Morrison against the Saints, with the midfielder picking up a hamstring niggle during the week. Saido Berahino is also a concern and will be closely monitored after suffering a knock in the stalemate with Sunderland last week. Tony Pulis also suggests that Victor Anichebe could possibly return from a groin injury this week after rejoining training.

Tim Sherwood faces a full-back crisis ahead of the trip to St James’s Park after confirming that Alan Hutton and Aly Cissokho are both doubtful to face the Magpies, with Hutton rated as “touch and go”. Kieran Richardson has also been ruled out through injury, while Swiss defender Philippe Senderos is also unlikely to feature.

Black Cats boss Gus Poyet will again be without Jack Rodwell and Billy Jones through injury, with neither being risked for the weekend. The pair however, could be fit to return for the Hull game in midweek.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Can Lukaku still force his way into our thinking this season? He has managed 5 goals and 2 assists in his last three games (2 EL, 1 PL), despite being subbed off after 49min last night. Fixtures are favorable after this week: sto, NEW, qpr, SOU, swa, BUR.

Not that I'm thinking of getting him with all this DGW business going on, but I'm interested if some of you are considering him.

He also went on to say that he picked Vergini to give them a little bit of height as WBA are good from set pieces, and with Rodwell missing they lacked a bit.

Seemed much more to suggest it was a one-off to cope with Pulis tactics. Besides, Sunderland didn't concede but they didn't score either, PVA helps them a lot going forward.

'There's a chance' can go either way. An interesting study for someone with waaay more time than me could be an analysis of each manager's comments relating to player availability and whether they eventually play.

What's the general tactic ahead of this weekend? Are people happy to go with 10 and roll over a transfer or looking at making a move (or taking a hit) to get 11 out? Having a full line-up is almost a differential this week. Personally I'm going with what I've got and hoping PVA starts so I can save a transfer for the DGW,

If PVA starts I have 10. I need to change Albrighton to make 11. Need whoever I bring in to score at least 4, as it'll bring about a 4 point hit next week. Need a 5m option! Can't work out what to do.

Might ditch Terry in a money making move for Puncheon > Eriksen next gameweek. Other defenders are Kosc, Clyne, Wolly and Baird.

Madness? Back up plan is Baird > Haidara but makes it more difficult to get Eriksen next gameweek (I'd need to ditch one of Haz, Alexis or Silva).

I want to replace Wisdom with another WBA defender...who's the best bet? Worried that Dawson might not be 100% nailed. Olsson is coming back so could threaten McAuley? Is Lescott the best bet....don't really want to spend the extra money tho!

Hmmmm reconsidering Aguero as (c) now.
Just had a look over FFFix and they project that Sanchez will get 6.9 points vs Aguero's 4.6. While, obviously, these projections have to be taken with a pinch of salt their accuracy is currently over 70%, which is not bad at all. Just thinking about pros/cons for both players:

    Sanchez:
    - Nailed on to play 90 minutes.
    - On some set pieces.
    - Arsenal team may have received quite the hairdryer treatment after the Monaco game ie. the players will be motivated for this game knowing their future appearances depend on the performance.
    - May play upfront if Gru if left on the bench. Playing a potentially tired Everton side after the EL match.
    - However, has not been in good form recently.

    Aguero:
    - May not receive all 90 minutes as there is a plethora of offensive options on the Man City bench (Bony, Dzeko, Jovetic).
    - On pens.
    - Playing a very tired Liverpool side after their extra time encounter with Besiktas.
    - However, Liverpool have been in great defensuve form lately.

Can anyone offer me some insight?

they are 70% accurate at predicting players' score to one decimal place? how on earth does that work?

I guess it's more, if Sanchez scores 10 points and they predicted 7 then they pat themselves on the back and say they were 70% right.

They give an estimation for say 5 games and then might divide it by 5.

My insight is to ignore projections. Especially Rate My Team, which is the work of the devil.

I agree (apart from the devil part)... You're just taking another person's view on who will do well.

Well not necessarily someone else's view. Based more so on algorithms, stats, etc.

Is Sanchez nailed for 90? They have a lot of attacking options and they have a midweek game followed by an FA Cup game.

None of the Arsenal attackers are nailed, but with that way of thinking you'll never captain Sanchez again.

He's my current captain. I'm just not sure listing one of his positives as 'nailed for 90 minutes' is accurate.

Most nailed on imo considering his levels of fitness. The likes of Rosicky/Walcott more likely to start the FA cup game.

    @ Demi

Leicester plays 5-4-1, Huth sweeper, Morgan on the center right.

        Surely.
His vertical movement was badly missed vs Monaco.
Plus he is a good finisher, unlike Welbeck

Robert Huth plays as a sweeper?! The definition of sweeper must have changed since the Baresi, Beckenbauer, Matthaus & Gullit days.

Hazard -> Ozil anyone? I'd only lose 0.2 on Haz if selling.

Really disappointed to see Moore being loaned out. Twice the player of Morgan.

Don't often watch Leicester but I've never rated Morgan.

Surely Pearson should've given Moore Moore of a chance in the first team.

How many players are you chaps planning to have for the DGW?

I already have Kane but I will probably go for Eriksen and Rose might be my third.
