Goals are the lifeblood of our Fantasy lineup and the quest for goalscorers is, of course, a major factor in our selections on a weekly basis.

While several players have already shown their prowess in this area with two goals to their name, the statistical data available to our Members, and in particular the ICT Index, enables us to spot and monitor those who are yet to make their mark but are, nonetheless, finding themselves in goalscoring positions and posing a key threat to the opposition.

In this latest Members article, we take a look at the top players amongst midfielders and forwards in terms of the current “Threat” score within our ICT Index, identifying those players who have so far delivered on their promise, and those which seem likely to find the net in the near future.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Daglish is annoying me right now. Hes a great manager and im sure knows exactly what hes doing but why start suarez against exeter??
he was the one who said hes burned out needs to monitor him throughout the season etc. seems to me suarez played a needless 60 mins despite his great influence on the game

Because he's mobile & able to take players on. Unlike the lamppost that is Carroll.

im not saying hes not a great player. i just think liverpool should be able to beat exeter without him thereby resting his already tired body.

With a midfield that cost that much, should really have performed better. Without the need for Suarez.

Suarez had no pre-season (with Liverpool). It makes perfect sense to play him in the League Cup.
Not to build up his fitness.
But to gel in with his new midfield compatriots .
            Jeez.
BTW Carroll the lampost has a left peg on him like Roy Race...that is all.

the guy needs to get fit after doing pretty much nothing for 3 weeks after COPA... 60 minutes in a mid week game is perfect for building up fitness levels.

I think King Kenny and his staff know exactly what they are doing.

Wilcarding is there to let you not take any point hits. I'd take no points deductions over an extra 10mil anyday.

Really? An extra 10mil would sure up a lot of your squad and eliminate the need for as many transfers imo. I'd much prefer the extra coin.

True, but in those weeks where you realise you have a couple or a few players suspended/injured and you need to transfer, then the wildcard helps out loads, as then you won't get points deducted.

Spurs looked so impotent against Man U - granted it was at OT but still I am playing Kompany as Fulham looked pish away. Moses in my team is a doubt so Hughes would come in for him. Vorm vs Given is tough - both at home, do fancy wolves to score tbh

Honestly feel like they have a way better chance of breaching a weaker defense at home.

That being said, would have Hughes over Kompany.

And I reckon Wolves are loads more likely to score than Sunderland too.

    Vorm (Given)
Jose Enrique, Taylor S, Bosingwa (Ward, De Laet)
Brunt, Jarvis, Silva, Van der Vaart (Dyer)
    Suarez, Bent, Rooney

Do I drop Bent to Long and go with Baines instead of De Laet?

If Tottenham do anything though, VdV is likely to be behind it. Less so for Young or Nani. Mata is a punt at this point.

      any money in the bank?

some thoughts: nani or young over vdv at least for now? also friedel (tottenham) looked rather promsiing against united so perhaps a consideration over given. Im consering switching to him whenever I end up using my wc. if you've got .5 perhaps de laet > senderos? but keep bent if you can because he will give you more flexibility up front. later on if you want you could go rooney > rvp and bent > hernandez for example.

      M'Vila is Vieira.

Wenger still likes Hazard and Martin, hopefully we'll get at least one of those two as well.

Hazard would be excellent, haven't seen much of Martin but I've heard he's good and would probably be a lot cheaper.

Jadson's been strongly linked as well.

Jadson's not happening, I don't think. That one died a while ago as far as I know.

The M'Vila thing reads to me as if Wenger has decided to abandon the Barca-lite thing and go back to his original style, the Invincibles one.

Fabregas and Nasri leaving, plus the acceptance that Arsenal just aren't going to fill that particular niche as well as Barcelona have done, has mean he'll go back to the style & tactics that actually won him trophies.

Gervinho, Walcott and Arshavin all have the pace for the counter-attacks, with Myaichi and AOC readied to come in and replace them eventually.

A midfield of M'Vila, Ramsey, Wilshire, Song and Frimpong would be able to turn defence into attack quickly enough.

He actually isn't really the midfield general you think he is (from what I've seen anyway). He seems a bit similar to Alex Song. Personally, nothing I've seen merits the price tag. Could be a decent signing though, he'll probably improve.

Martin and Hazard would suit perfectly.

I think M'Vila is a better ball-carrier and passer than Song.

I think Hazard is unlikely (don't think Lille will play ball), but Martin is a possibility.

Honestly keep Torres for the Norwich home game. Just my opinion, I got him too, but with BOTH the West Brom and Norwich games in mind.
Surely Chelsea will score 1, 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 goals!
If they do, Torres will be their most forward player (IF) he starts. He might get a scrappy rebound or a deflection. If he does, who's to say he won't take off.
