Goals are the lifeblood of our Fantasy lineup and the quest for goalscorers is, of course, a major factor in our selections on a weekly basis.

While several players have already shown their prowess in this area with two goals to their name, the statistical data available to our Members, and in particular the ICT Index, enables us to spot and monitor those who are yet to make their mark but are, nonetheless, finding themselves in goalscoring positions and posing a key threat to the opposition.

In this latest Members article, we take a look at the top players amongst midfielders and forwards in terms of the current “Threat” score within our ICT Index, identifying those players who have so far delivered on their promise, and those which seem likely to find the net in the near future.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    A) Rooney / Sturridge / N'Zog OR B) Hernandez / Bent / Brunt

B, purely because it doesn't have Sturrage, who will surely be limited in opportunities at Chelsea.

If you're looking to the future then B. You might not get immediate returns from Brunt and Chicharito, but they will come good.

For now though I would go A, with N'zog swapped for Brunt or Jarvis

what do we think about yaya? i haven't been able to see any of city's games, but i know he had 10 shots or something ridiculous in the first game, and then played deeper g2. obv if city are playing a 442 then that will hurt his attacking points, but is it worth a 4 pointer to get rid of him (will also do cole > bosingwa to free up cash to upgrade yaya), or wait a week?

Hello Americans, Aussies and other random non-UK readers. I've noticed a couple of people asking how best to watch Premier League goals and a couple of days ago I blundered into this cracking little freebie some of you might be interested in?

Hey Jonny, I just came back to that post I submitted yesterday on the 'Bosingwa vs Cole' section... so I thought I would reply here instead, since you probably won't go back to that...

Right now I have fairly intermittent internet access until I move into my new flat, which is in East Brunswick... I have managed to find a sweet bar that shows all the games live, the Charles Dickens Tavern... the 3pm games are easy enough to catch but the later kick-offs will be tougher...

And no, I'm not Harry Kewell... 😉

Nice, East Brunswick is a pretty sweet place to move into. It's all about the Northside!

You'll probably be on (or near) the 96 tram route I guess- in which case The Imperial at the top of Bourke street is another good option for live footy. FULL of Liverpool fans though, it's like their HQ. The late kick offs are killers. Champions League will be even worse- stayed up for a couple last season (you get them on free TV which is cool) and ended up falling asleep through both.

          What brings you to Melbourne?

I've not used yahoo so I don't know. For games involving the "big" teams they have pretty comprehensive highlights- up to 20 odd minutes long. I think they might be a bit hit and miss for some of the less glamourous games, but it's always worth a look.

Good on ya! As they say in these parts...

I'm just here on a working holiday visa, using Melbourne as my base to save some cash (in theory) and see a bit more of Oz. I've been in the city since March and love it, very easy to settle into.

Funnily enough you probably live literally 5 minutes walk away from me if you're in East Brunswick and on the 96 route.

I fear my girlfriend might think I was mental if I told her I'd arranged to meet a man off the internet to talk about fantasy football! This is the first time she's experienced my FF obsession and already thinks I'm a right geek, and she doesn't know the half of it....

I'm sure she won't mind when I win the $600 for first prize in my mini-league though!

Let me know if you're going to watch it some time though, perhaps we'll have a chance meeting in the Imperial one week!

Hi guys, ive got a few questions:

    1. Should I swap sess with brunt? Feel like Brunt will be better in the long term and can do with the extra .5m

    2. Dont bother with the above and save transfer for next week to downgrade Timmy Cahill to Ferguson and use the 5m to upgrade on forwards? (currently have rooney, bent, a.johnson)

    3. Plan on captning Bent this gw, anyone can shed a light on wolves defense? Looks pretty solid with R.johnson and its a derby. Or be better off captning rooney?

    Thanks

      1. Tempting. I just brought Brunt in but have Sess as well. I think its worth it but not for a hit. Brunt has excellent fixtures coming up

      2. Ferguson is useless might as well find 0.5m somewhere for Dyer if you want to go that route

      3. I'm torn between Bent, Rooney and Torres for (C) so I'd be interested to know this as well. Wolves have played well so far but I reckon both teams will score

If Mata comes in at less than 10, do i put him in instead of Van Der Vaart? Seeing as im selecting me team now it doesnt cost a trade, gives me Chelsea attacking coverage and gets rid of VDV who i am iffy about, but may not start? Hmmm

probably not right away but it wouldnt be a bad transfer in a couple weeks. also nani and young might be better options than vdv for 10 or you could go for silva at 9.6. nasri also seems like he might be a decent transfer in a couple weeks but it makes more sense to let him get settled and see how much playing time he will get

cheers tw, those were my thoughts too, probably better off going with VDV this week and look at Nasri and Mata.
I reckon Nani and Young impact each other too much work rate wise, or do you think im being stupid going with VDV over them two? Have Silva already 🙂

united have been playing very well and I think they will have a very strong/good game against arsenal. on the other hand, the bit of the united tottenham game I saw the spurs didn't look that strong. vdv had a couple long shots but didn't look too threatening.

sigh. i havent been on the boards because im too frustrated with my team. 83 total points. 1.14 million overall. if i dont gain some ground this week it will be hard to resist WCing. Last week i had Vorm, Simpson and DeLaet on the bench. Captained Baines. Started torres, saha. So ive done saha->odemwingie. Any other transfers worth a 4 point hit to help turn this disaster around?:

No more trades this week. You have a team that will come good with some minor tweaking.

Maybe downgrade Nzog for a wolves mid or Brunt and then Torres could become Rooney, RVP or anyone else you want. I am in a simlair position and am planning not to WC until the 2nd international break if possible.

Planning to play Vorm over Given this week meaning my backline will be:

    Vorm

    Baines, Bosignwa, Warnock (Simpson, Brown)

The other option is to play Given and replace Warnock with Simpson? Or play Given and Warnock and pray for an AVL cleansheet. Anyone have any thoughts on this matter?

PS. Drawn to captainng Baines for some reason, mad or inspired?

I feel much the same way as you Fuzzy. Thought I have a decent team but they just haven't performed.

    Set as
    Vorm (Schwarzer)
    Bosingwa, Warnock, Simpson
    Lampard(c) N'Zogbia, Brunt, Sinclair, Moses
    Torres, Suarez

    Saha, Lescott, De Laet

Haven't done any transfers yet but I'll probably swap Torres->Rooney by Friday. I'd say he'll do well against Arsenal, he has done in the past and hope Rooney will be a long term keeper, til Christmas hopefully.
Then I gotta see how well N'Zogbia, Lampard & Saha go on the weekend so i'll probably do 2 transfers next week depending on how they look, I'll definitely want Silva against Wigan in GW4.

Yeah go it, Rooney in form. Next week no need to take a hit (unless injuries occur) simply ditch Sinclair for Hunt or O'Hara who are been performing as well as Jarvis according to ICT and PPI.

Saha would then be your only concern then but Everton have decent run of fixtires and Beckford was average at best last week. I would think Saha will start if not GW3 then definately GW4.

Yeah Beckford really was dreadful last weekend but Saha.. he's just an annoying player that's never done well for me in all the years ive played this game (same with Defoe and Malouda) and I dont wanna lose too much value early on.
        I'm actually considering
Lampard & Saha -> Silva & Dzeko next week.
Or maybe even Lampard & N'Zogbia -> Silva & Mata if i can afford it.

Tis all speculation at this stage though and GW3 could change the perspective of a lot of things, plus there's a 2 week gap to GW4 so yeah.

Strong feelings there for not having Saha, what attracted you to pick him last week?

According to Total FPL Saha already due to drop so perhaps it's too late?

He was forecast to drop last night too. I dont mind if he drops once. But if he say, plays 20 minutes in gw3 people will continue selling and he could drop twice in the 2 weeks between gw3 and 4.
I picked him as a sneaky punt against an apparently leaky QPR defence. Didn't work out to well.

I think it's a toss up between Given and Begovic. I don't think either will get a CS. I can see a 0-0 match between Fulham and Newcastle, so I'd get both Senderos and Simpson in and look to sit DeLaet for sure. I think I'd complete the bench with Moses and Holt as well. So I guess basically replacing DeLaet with Simpson and flipping a coin on Begovice/Given.

Bench DeLaet for sure. No way they'll keep a cleansheet against Chelsea. Play Moses over him. And I'd probably pick Simpson over Senderos, purely because Newcastle have the home game advantage.

      B. I think a CS, assist or goal (or any bonus) is going to be extremely hard to come by for DeLaet and Nani seems to not really be clicking in the ManU offense at the moment. Blackburn is horrible and if Wolves score against Fulham (which isn't necessarily an easy task) more than likely he'll be involved.
