Goals are the lifeblood of our Fantasy lineup and the quest for goalscorers is, of course, a major factor in our selections on a weekly basis.

While several players have already shown their prowess in this area with two goals to their name, the statistical data available to our Members, and in particular the ICT Index, enables us to spot and monitor those who are yet to make their mark but are, nonetheless, finding themselves in goalscoring positions and posing a key threat to the opposition.

In this latest Members article, we take a look at the top players amongst midfielders and forwards in terms of the current “Threat†score within our ICT Index, identifying those players who have so far delivered on their promise, and those which seem likely to find the net in the near future.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

My last dilemma for starting 11 this week is Rangel or Sessegnon. Swansie CS or Sunderland scoring, any suggestions?

Is Suarez a must-have this season? Should I trade Torres out for Suarez this GW, or wait one more GW? The only other Chelsea player I have is Bosingwa...

Cheeky punt (under 8.0) for the weekend?
Think I will wildcard GW3 to get the price rises and what-not. Currently have:
    Given
    Simpson Kompany Enrique (Jagielka, Brown)
    VDV, Sinclair, Sess, Yaya (Moses)
    Torres, Suarez, Bent.

Think I'll dump Yaya this week with the transfer that needs using up but can't think of anybody to take a punt on. May have to wait for Big Duncs differentials and go from there. How about that kid from Everton is he worth a go on?

very expensive defense u have, maybe u can dowgrade there.
in the near futur u might need to drop torres and yaya, especially yaya now that more creativity is availabl in mancity,

concerning wallace, he's a good/great young player, however he was given plenty of space against qpr, while the rest of the team was locked, and he took couple of shots but missed the target. he's a bit of the rodwell type of player, but pushes forward a bit. will be different situation now that teams are expecting him

Expensive defense?! It's cheaper than most out there considering there's no Cashley or Baines.

Yaya and Torres will be gone post GW3 with the wildcard and Torres can stay to play Norwich and thats it.

i cnt see the urgency for wc tbh. exept yaya and torres, ur team is quite good. leave it for the rainy/snowy day

baines give the income of a midfielder, so his price is balanced from the mids and not the defenders while the likes of jags and kompany and brown and simpson are pure defensive players

    My team as it stands:
    Vorm (Given)
Bosingwa Enrique S.Taylor (Brown De Laet)
    Silva VDV Jarvis Brunt (Sinclair)
    Rooney Dzeko Suarez
    a few things-
Am i better off with Simpson over De Laet (2 NEW defenders though)
If Mata comes in at 9.5 or less ill be tempted to switch him with VDV and get Ramsey in GW4 for one of my 6.0 mids.
Also I feel Dzeko is a bargain with Aguero Nasri and Silva behind him in an attacking Man City side.
    Thoughts?

Newcastle's odds of keeping a cleanie are better than Swanseas, so on that basis, double up.

Unless you think De Laet could score/assist/receive BPs.

they have tevez and ballotelli on the bench, plus if they decide to go 4-5-1 for tactical reasons, (big team away game for example), they will go with a more mobile lone striker like aguero or tevez.
4-5-1 might even be tried in the Pl occasionaly ahead of a difficult CL away game

Guys. I've asked FPL - but no response. As usual.

Are they going to start giving us the option of seeing whose price has risen/fallen on the 'Plater filters' do we think (rather than scrolling through every player's price)?

They gave it to us last year and it was one of my most used filters.

I'd love to see Arsenal go back to a counter attacking team this season. WIth Fabregas and Nasri gone they don't really have the tools for tippy-tappy. Walcott, Gervinho and RVP spearheading a counterattack would frighten any team IMO

Problem is Theo and Gervinho are still too inconsistent. Theo doesn't use his pace well often enough. He should just knock the ball past the opponent and sprint onto it, instead he tries to use close control.

Gervinho needs to improve his final ball, passing and decision making.

From what i saw yesterday he(Gervinho) is improving and will only get better with more games. Comparing yesterday's game to his first games vs. newcastle his passes were more accurate

    Current Team: (A)
    hilario (ruddy)
    baines, senderos, richards (s.taylor, simpson)
    Formica, sinclair, silva, larsson (ferguson)
    torres, bent, aguerro

    Potential team: (B)
    given (ruddy)
richards, bosingwa, s. taylor (de laet, simpson)
malouda(will bring in mata once available), sessegnon, young, silva (ferguson)
    long, suarez, bent

    Any advice? Thanks.

I just feel like I made a mistake spending 8 mil on baines, that formica is a waste, lacking on man utd coverage & dont want to wait too long to get suarez/long before their prices rise too much. Also feel like having aguerro is over kill with silva too.

        Maybe take a 4 point hit? Formica > Malouda/Mata & aguerro > long

Not - I think you can field a decent 11 this week and make 2 trades next week bringing in Rooney or Suarez for Torres or Aguero depending on how/if they play.

I think baines is worth keeping even at 8m, although the good thing is he probably won't rise too much so if you sell him you can always get him back for a similar price.

There is no guarantee that he will get another serious injury. Wish people would stop trying to be clever with their '(not if but when)' posts. Maybe he won't get so many dreadful challenges on him this season?

Even if he does get injured, just transfer him out, no big deal.

Has anyone ever done a count of the number of winners of the captains poll that went on to be the best pick that week?

i.e. is Captains poll right more often than not?

Or a more detailed analysis say: Points earnt for 1st palce over season, points for second place, 3rd place etc to see if total season points for Captains poll position declines with position.

There was a full analysis of it on here in the summer if you want to look back through the articles The gist was that the highest scoring player was v often in the top 3 of the poll but often not the winner as I recall.

I could see Tosey's thinking though. While Rooney/A Young will inevitably score some points, they will not be huge compared to other potential options and looking at Man Utd's opening fixtures, only Norwich at home jumped out until GW9.

Yet, Rooney has scored in his first 2 games while, RVP, for instance, has not...

Left, so threatens Malouda and Cole, more so Malouda if we get him, if we do, Malouda could be sold to Juventus. Cole is good at LB for a while yet, Perreira could be his long term replacement but I think he has Zhirkov's versatility, hopefully with more consistency so he can play LB, LM and LW. Thats IF we get him.

      Its not wildcard bad.

Vermaelen isnt worth 7M, so swap him for Gibbs, then upgrade Ramsey.

But i don't about Ramsey to be honest, i would rather upgrade one of the other Mids besides Jarvis and to a lesser extent Dyer
Ramsey will be a good pickup this year IMO. I think he will shine with no Cesc and Fabregas and am personally thinking of him for GW4

Verm is too expensive for an Arsenal defender, I'd avoid their defence completely tbh, Ramsey is not exactly a points magnet and there are endless better options at his price or cheaper. Moses AND Watson is a bit too much Wigan imo and I would avoid Torres until he starts scoring goals consistently. Keeper combo is good, and rest of team (except a question mark over Cahill) is good too.
