The problems mount for West Ham in defence ahead of their trip to the Emirates. Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is out for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury. Tim Sherwood could welcome back Christian Benteke and Ron Vlaar to the Aston Villa set-up, Baggies boss Tony Pulis sweats on the fitness of three of his strikers, while Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is available for Monday’s trip to Swansea.

West Ham forward Enner Valencia lacerated his big toe in a freak domestic accident that involved stepping on a broken teacup. The 25-year-old Ecuadorian required stitches and, according to manager Sam Allardyce, is unlikely to feature in the Hammers’ trip to Arsenal on Saturday. Winston Reid is unavailable due to a hamstring problem, whilst Big Sam – who is also without the on-loan Carl Jenkinson against his parent club – has been hit with another blow in defence after James Tomkins sustained a suspected dislocated shoulder in training yesterday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out for three-to-four weeks with the hamstring injury that forced him off during Monday’s cup win at United. Arsene Wenger has also conceded he’s uncertain when Jack Wilshere will be available to return due to ongoing ankle concerns. Mikel Arteta has returned to full training and is expected to be available for selection in three weeks’ time.

Steven Gerrard declared himself available for Liverpool’s face-off with Swansea City this Gameweek. The talismanic skipper has recovered from a hamstring complaint that kept him sidelined for the Reds’ previous seven matches.

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood could be boosted by reinforcements at both ends of the pitch, with news that Christian Benteke and Ron Vlaar are set for late fitness tests ahead of the Sunderland clash. Furthermore, Libor Kozak is on the comeback trail – after he broke his leg more than a year ago – and returned to full training this week, though is still a couple of weeks away from a first-team comeback.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has few injuries to contend with as he prepares for their home encounter with Hull City. Dean Hammond (calf injury) and Anthony Knockaert (family reasons) are the only absentees, with goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel back in the squad following a broken metatarsal.

Mo Diame is still absent with a knee injury for Hull, though manager Steve Bruce has confirmed the midfielder is set to return to training next week.

Tony Pulis faces an injury crisis up top on the eve of the Baggies’ clash against Stoke City, with Victor Anichebe, Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye all doubts for the fixture. In addition, winger Callum McManaman is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks after he took several blows to his injured foot in recent substitute appearances.

Meanwhile, Chris Brunt could be available for selection against the Black Cats despite being charged by the FA for allegedly directing threatening words at referee Anthony Taylor in West Brom’s Fa Cup defeat. The 30-year-old midfielder has opted for a personal hearing next week, which should enable him to feature in Gameweek 29.

Sean Dyche confirmed that Burnley boast a clean bill of health as they gear up for a visit from Manchester City. Matt Taylor is nearing a return after he clocked 70 minutes for the Development Squad on Tuesday but needs more match fitness before he’s reinstated into the first team.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

I've done some research on "viewing angles" etc but it seems like bigger the better applies here unless it goes above 55inches or so.

Looking at new TV sets and just can't wait to watch some games on a 48 incher!

I'm only on a 32 inch which is barely entry-level these days but quite happy with it, can't really complain.

Not a spoiled brat or anything here - just that the opportunity came up since the old TV died. Was quite surprised at how much more affordable TVs are now compared to a few years ago.

Had expected to spend a fortune on a replacement.

projector might be a step too far for me. don't have the space for a screen nor do i have a large enough blank wall to project on.

Your eyes get used to whatever you have quite quickly. I have a 55 inch but it doesn't even seem that big anymore. 48 is more than big enough though.

        😯 55! that's a monster.

My couch is about 2 metres or so away from the TV, 48 incher seems ideal in the store. Cheers, good to know.

i'll gain about 50cm since it will have to wall mounted (current TV is on an old TV shelf). so closer to 3m.

I have a 55 inch as well. Although my couch is 3-4m away so it's about as large as I'd want for watching normal telly. In your case I reckon 48in is more than enough.

Is Zouma a solid option for short-term? Have my WC left, so I'm only looking at GWs 29-33.

    Rest of the defense:

Koscielny Fonte Rose PVA (Wolly -> Zouma)
    (Foster Myhill)

So have fallen out of the top 1k and in need of some advice.

Time to bite the bullet, 4 months too late, and bring in Ivan.

Who to change from this 5? Have 3.5 ITB so anyone can be transferred.

    Hutton, Rose, PVA, Fonte, McCauley.

Hutton is the obvious choice but I will just be playing 3 at the back, meaning he and PVA are winch fodder and Rose looks good for the next 5/6 game weeks.

    Any thoughts? Team linked

I have both Caz and Sanchez. With that predicted defensive lineup i'm really considering one of them as captain over Aguero. Caz as pointed out has a good record v West Ham, and I can really see Arsenal getting a pen. Is caz on any other set peices as West Ham were woeful defending them v Palace

    GK Panty
    DEF Terry, Ivan, Dawson
    MID Silva, Hazard, Caz, Sanchez
    FWD Berhanho, Kane, Aguero

Have 2 FT, how does Sterling - Silva and Eriksen - Siggy sound? Am I mad?
    Cheers in advance.

What's the general consensus on playing Rose or Clyne?

    Defensive Punts Success:

    Clyne
    Baines
    Cresswell
    PVA
    Naughton
    Schluup?

So far every transfer I've made for a starting XI defender that week they've gone on to score big in the very first week of selection [more than 6pts]. Schluup, your time is now....

For a bit of context I am 40 points clear in my ML and me and my ML rival have very similar teams. I still have my WC and plan on using for the double GW. My only concern with this is that when I WC I am going to get a load of players which my rival doesnt have, essentially giving him so many differntials. Think this WC could potentially ruin my season oppose make it.

    Anyone else share these concerns?

In your scenario I would not use a WC until after the DGW and then see where the land lies.

I have used my WC and will have a very good 33 +34 squad by only taking a small hit.
